In the magical region of Salento lies the small town of Lucugnano. In its ancient and tranquil heart stands a historic courtyard property, the result of the restoration of a two-story building dating back to the late 1700s. The property has been recently renovated with full respect for the architecture and materials typical of the area, highlighting the barrel and star-shaped vaults, the walls, the niches, and the Leccese stone fireplace. The interior design also reflects a conservative restoration approach, though it is enriched with contemporary furnishings.
“Il Palazzotto di Lucugnano” is strategically located just 15 minutes from both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Equidistant between the splendid villages of Specchia and Tricase, it is very close to the main road junctions connecting the town to the most beautiful destinations of Capo di Leuca: Tricase, Porto Castro, Santa Maria di Leuca, San Gregorio, Torre Mozza, and many others. The centre of Lucugnano is an excellent starting point for excursions along the marvellous Salento coastline and to its cities of art. Lucugnano is renowned for its ceramics and the delicious traditional cuisine served in its trattorias.

The house is very spacious inside and spans two floors. It features several outdoor areas: the garden, furnished with comfortable sofas and a large dining table; the spacious terrace on the top floor, comfortably furnished; and the small terrace next to the bedrooms. It also has a comfortable pool located in a second garden, where there is ample space for sunbathing.
The rooms feature high ceilings with star-shaped or barrel vaults. The bathrooms and kitchen are tiled with traditional handmade cement tiles.
Upon entering the house on the ground floor, you’ll find a spacious entryway that runs the length of the house, a large kitchen with marble worktops and exposed brickwork featuring a comfortable table that seats eight or more, and a spacious living room with a stone fireplace and comfortable sofas and armchairs. In the living room, a large picture window overlooks the courtyard, which features a spacious garden where you can enjoy warm summer evenings. From the living room, a staircase leads directly to the master bedroom on the ground floor, which includes a walk-in closet. Also on the ground floor is the “apartment within the apartment”: separated by two doors, it features a living room, a hallway, a bathroom with a shower, and a staircase leading to a double bedroom.
A stone staircase leads to the ground floor, where there are three bedrooms, two of which are adjoining and share access to two bathrooms—one with a tub and one with a shower. The third bedroom is separate and has access to its own bathroom with a shower
On the roof of the Palazzotto di Lucugnano is a large terrace overlooking the village rooftops: the view is spectacular, offering a truly unique panorama: the rooftops of the ancient houses, the bell tower of the village church, and the countryside with the characteristic vegetation of the Salento peninsula. The terrace is enjoyable throughout the day; it can be used as a place to soak up the sun during the day and transforms into a charming spot at sunset: a glass of Salento red wine, some Apulian taralli, and the evening breeze will make your stay unforgettable.
