Best spot for family getaway

Amazing Xmas and New Year's Holiday

Words cannot convey what an incredible experience our family had at this amazing location. The living setting was comfortable and nostalgic. The private beach and cabana was like something out of a movie. The pool and deck were perfect too. Communication with property manager was outstanding and site support from Lori was equally outstanding. We will be back. Thank you.

Extremely nice Property

Five couples shared a week at this property. The house, the beach and the pool were all wonderful - just as nice as the pictures made them look. Lots of room for us to gather or spread out. Having a caretaker on the property was a plus. The kitchen and dining room (oh that table!) served us well. There were a few maintenance issues in the house that could have used attention (noisy bathroom fans, hard to open vents in the pool house, light bulbs out) but we all loved the property.

Outstanding choice! Our family of 10 had an excellent stay at the Beautiful Beach and Bioluminescent Bay. PROS: Caretaker Lori was friendly, knowledgeable, and easily accessible. The setting was PERFECT! The grounds are spacious, well manicured, and gorgeous. There are many fruit and palm trees.When we did have an issue, it was quickly addressed. For example, the AC unit needed service and was causing a leak of water in the kitchen. There is a pavilion on the property overlooking the beach giving it a private feel. We were the only ones on the beach all week. The pool is clean and well maintained. It's also large enough to accommodate a big group. The living quarters are so spacious that there were parts of it we didn't even use. There was plenty of space to be alone or congregate. And plenty of seating to eat meals together. There is also a nice bar area where we gathered multiple times.CONS: There was an island-wide power outage that lasted 10 hours. We had emergency lighting available, but the back up generator did not function. There were some deceased bugs still hanging around that were results of previous exterminating. Dead bugs beat the live ones anyday, but it would have been nice to have them swept up since their size was intimidating. Overall, this was an excellent property for our family. It was like a private resort and we had a fantastic stay. We would definitely stay here again. It was paradise!

Terrific property for extended family.

We had a family of 12 with 3 generations (4 people in each generation) ranging in age from 5 to 67. This property was big and open enough that we were never crowded or in each other's way. Lovely pool and beach area. 2 refrigerators in the kitchen was very helpful. We didn't use the round house since it was up steep wooden stairs and had no AC. Pool house was perfect for one family that wanted more privacy.

Paradise

We just returned home from a week in Paradise with my wife and I, four adult daughters and our Son in Law. It was absolutely the perfect location to unplug from the world and to reconnect as a family. Snorkeling, swimming in the ocean and the pool, kayaking around the bay, sun bathing, fishing, bird watching, outdoor shower, games with the family. We are beyond blessed for this amazing spot. It was like having our own private island resort. We will be eternally grateful to Jill, the property manager and to Lori, the caretaker for being so helpful and friendly to our family. We absolutely LOVED this house and the property is beyond perfection. Words do not even do it justice.Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Dream Honeymoon Cove

We came here for our honeymoon, first of all Yolanda the care taker was kind enough to pick us up from the airport when our flight came in late, she also drove us to pick up our rental car the next day. She was so warm and welcoming! We were totally blown away by the property, a literal paradise! The house is huge and has tons of CHARACTER! Not some boring cookie cutter house. We loved spending time on the private beach, plenty of seashells for the picking. We spent a lot of time at the pool too - so large and has a deep end! Most of our time was spent at the property as there is plenty to see and do. They even have kayaks for you to use! It was the perfect honeymoon, worth every penny. We can’t wait to return one day!

Tropical Family Memories

Our family made beautiful memories in Galen’s Cove. The home is majestic with clean beds and bathrooms. Plenty of room to spread out or gather as a family. Lots of lounge chairs and dining tables, both indoors and outdoors for meals. Board games, card, puzzles, some toys, and many books are available. There’s much to do for all ages. We spent hours on the beach, by the pool, under the hut, and kayaking on the bay. At night, we sat on the beach to see the sunset and bioluminescence. We saw many geckos, big and small hermit crabs near the pool, more crabs on the beach, and a mongoose by the trees that line the yard along the water. There’s water fowl, deer, and you may even spot a turtle pop his head up in the bay. The property is covered with majestic palm trees. There were coconuts, mangos, and genip in abundance. The flowering trees and shrubs bring color to the sprawling green landscape. The kitchen is clean and well-equipped for preparing meals. We shopped at Cost U Less for breakfast and lunch foods. We cooked a few dinners and ate out a few nights.

Perfect Location!

The location of this home is amazing! Our tour guide from Bush Tribe said there's nothing like it on St. Croix. In fact, he’d always been curious about the property, so we invited him over to check it out! If you're looking for an immaculate, state-of-the-art home, you should know this home is older and quirky. As such, there were minor things that needed repaired, but nothing that bothered us or hindered our stay! The home is spacious, clean & comfortable. We loved the large kitchen for preparing meals & the table that had plenty of room to eat together. The bar was fun for mixing drinks!! The pool was clean & deep (the deck had a few lifted boards, so watch your step). The grounds were immaculate & private!! Even though the care takers live next door, we hardly noticed them. The beach by far was our favorite spot! Calm, shallow water that would be perfect for little ones. We really enjoyed the kayaks! We easily could have stayed at the property for the whole week, but made ourselves go out and explore the island. Hands down this is the best home I’ve rented on VRBO. We were sad to leave & hope to make it back some day!!

An alternate reality - Time Slows

I write this part to clarify some other reviews regarding the "dated" nature of the property. If you are looking for a place to watch TV and do other things you can do at home, then perhaps this is not the place for you. If you want to let time slow down and enjoy the tranquil nature of God's creation, unplugged and taking in the beauty that is St. Croix, then guess what? THIS IS YOUR SPOT. It took a solid day to get used to this place, but as a family of four, when I say we loved it here, it would not be strong enough. The personnel responsible for seeing to our comfort were nothing shy of amazing. VERY accommodating. So, for service. A+. The location is private, the yard huge (my son and I played football). The pool, refreshing. Oh, and by the way, private beach, and by beach, I mean a beach for a party of 30 to yourself. The house had boats to travel to the bioluminescent bay which is almost worth the stay alone. A large collection of Mangroves, hermit crab, exotic birds and the darkest skies for a clear view of the starlit sky. Time slowed while we were there, and that is EXACTLY why we come to St. Croix. I had no idea this place existed, otherwise I would have stayed here on our previous trips. The house may be dated in some aspects, but it is EXACTLY what life should be from time to time, a refreshing reminder.

You Can't Beat the Location

The location of this place could not be better! It's so remote and private - you have your own personal beach with cabana right next to the water for shade. The pool was wonderful, and there was so much room for everyone to spread out with multiple living and dining rooms. The only complaint is that the house has a LOT of deferred maintenance. There are many things in the buildings that are broken or run down so it needs a big overhaul to fix and replace things and remove belongings and broken things left behind. It was undoubtedly a spectacular house when it was newer, but it feels more like a really big camp or cabin now. Overall we all had a great time though and really enjoyed the property and would come back given the chance.

Awesome secluded property

Great place to stay if you want to live the Swiss Family Robinson life of total relaxation and privacy on the beach. The best place on the island to stay for a getaway, but still close enough to town to grab anything you need. Highly recommend.

An escape from reality.

We stayed for a week to get away from the cold in upstate NY. The house is located on a beautiful, secluded beach. We enjoyed just hanging out on the property. The kids had a blast in the pool. One of the best parts was watching the young sea turtles bob up in the morning while feeding just off shore. It was an amazing week.

Our group of 12 absolutely loved this property! All couples had their own bedroom with private bath. It was perfect! The house is huge with so many sitting areas, giving us privacy for small conversations or the big group. Pool was great, but it was a little too chilly this time of year. However, easy access to our beach was the highlight, along with a covered sitting area for those wanting out of the sun. Property manager recommended shopping places for groceries and restaurants. Can’t wait to go back again!!

Beyond our expectations

There are a few special places in the world. This is one of them. It has the only private beach on the island with an incredible estate. It was perfect for our extended family. My dad spent every day just sitting on the beach under a picturesque shelter nibbling on sea grapes when he wasn't hunting coconuts and mangoes from the trees. Our kids - two 11 year old boys - spent their days in the pool, afternoons playing chess and their nights kayaking the nearby bioluminescent Bay. Our teenager appreciated the wifi and occasionally stepped outside to do Tiktok posts (I think) on this amazing place when we weren't snorkeling nearby beaches. Grandma spent her days idling under the covered porch, appreciating the views while reading her book and working on puzzles. Our good friend, appreciated the cozy fully equipped guest house by the pool. As for us...this was a memorable holiday. We had room for everyone to be comfortable and happy. We loved the nostalgic and tasteful decor and would love to come back again. The estate is managed by a competent, capable and kind couple who helped us checkin and get settled. Thr property managers worked with us to coordinate chefs and equipment and answer questions. We loved them all.

Such a wonderful estate

We had an amazing time during our stay. Pam was super helpful, adding some extra comforts for my FIL. For the summer the 2 bedrooms that are detached from the main house were a little too hot, but everything worked out for our party. We are already trying to figure out when we can go again.

Amazing property

The property was amazing, we had a huge private beach all to ourselves. We enjoyed kayaking in the Bio Bay and shell hunting on the beach. The kitchen was large and it was easy to prepare meal. The house is dated, but you don't spend much time in there anyway, so it doesn't matter. Everything was clean. The property hosts were next door and were readily available when we needed anything. They were super nice and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Amazing and beautiful property

I loved everything about this property. The private beach, pool and the house itself was as amazing as pictured! The kayaks and canoe were fantastic to use while we were there too. Jill the property manager and Yolanda were very nice, helpful and great to work with. We loved every minute we were able to spend here and our time to leave came way too fast. Ours and our kids favorite days were the days we spent staying at the house and relaxing with all it had to offer.

Incredible Location

This is a fantastic property and great for a family or large group. It has it's own private beach within the salt water bay where our toddlers could play in the samll waves. It's about a 15 minute drive into Christensted, and 20 minutes to Cane Bay, which are the two areas we found ourselves visiting the most. All the pictures shown are part of the property and you'll have all to yourself. It's an older house probably built in the early 60's, but has everything you need including reasonably fast wifi, which I clocked plenty fast at about 8 mbps.
