About this property
Charming 1866 schoolhouse in the heart of the County - free Sandbanks Pass
Our comfortable home offers 3 bedrooms, a full living room, bonus living space, a dining room and a well-stocked kitchen for 6 guests plus 3 additional children under 10.
The outside provides lots of room with a deck, fenced-in yard, large open back yard and fire-pit. The quiet rural setting is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine from one of the many local wineries or some quiet star-gazing.
A one-room schoolhouse from 1866 to 1966, let this home be your base for all the experiences the County has to offer.
The sunny front room with a wood pellet stove, pull-out couch and TV is the perfect entrance space with storage and a place to hang your coats. This room also makes a great work-from-home location as it is quiet and has a table which can double as a desk.
In the main part of the house, you'll discover a well-stocked kitchen ready to prepare your perfect meal. The dining room, which opens off the kitchen, features a beautiful large round dining table, ideal for celebrating with friends and family. The living room has lots of comfortable seating, a TV with streaming access and a wood pellet stove for those crisp Fall and Winter evenings. The main floor bedroom, with a queen bed and TV with a streaming device, is just off the living room for easy step-free access. The spacious bathroom is also on the main floor and is stocked with the essentials you'll need.
On the second floor, you'll find two more bedrooms, both with a queen bed. Each bedroom has duvets and premium cotton bedding for the perfect night's sleep. The master bedroom also offers a large TV and streaming device.
Since we are a rural property, there is plenty of quiet outdoor space to enjoy. A fenced deck and yard offer security for little ones and pets with easy access to the BBQ from the attached garage. There is also a large field behind the house with a fire pit.
You should be aware, we are currently putting in a large deck. Unfortunately, it's going much slower than we anticipated. As a consequence, there is some visual 'mess' (see the photo at the end of the photo gallery). Rest assured, it won't impact your ability to use the outdoor space and no construction will happen during your stay.
We provide you with one complimentary parking pass to Sandbanks Provincial Park to use during your stay. The park is a short 15-minute drive from the house.
You'll find all you need including air conditioning, washer and dryer, unlimited internet access, and a complimentary Flo charger for your electric vehicle.
Please note: our charges include nightly rental, a cleaning fee, plus HST and Municipal Accommodations Tax. All other 'fees' are those charged by the rental platform.

We fell in love with Prince Edward County while visiting back in 2017. We were lucky enough to find this lovely old building and enjoy spending time here with our family. Our goal is to share the cozy, friendly and relaxed County experience with others by offering our home as a vacation rental. We hope you enjoy staying here and exploring the County as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
This home was a one room school house from 1866 to 1966. It holds many happy memories for local residents, some of which are captured in stories we display in the house. The quiet rural setting is incredibly peaceful while allowing easy access to Picton (15 minutes away) and Sandbanks beach (15 minutes away).

We offer quiet comfort, sunny farm views and a homey, relaxed atmosphere for the perfect getaway.
We have two pellet stoves which provide added warmth and ambiance during the colder months. We also have a complimentary EV charger (Flo) for guest use, free of charge.
