The Avocado Acres Apartment is located in The Camarillo Heights neighborhood where no two houses are the same. There is a charming back roads vibe in this area as it is an unincorporated part of the city/county with lots of character. You will truly feel like a local when strolling through.
This apartment itself resides in a `working` avocado orchard, it is a unique setting, but also must be respected as it is not a fairytale land. There is heavy machinery, tools, and other work items present around the orchard. We mention this so there are no misaligned expectations.
You are within a 5 minute drive of The Camarillo Village Square where you can find Sprouts, Grocery Outlet, Rite Aid, Orange Theory, Planet Fitness, PizzaMan Dan`s, Relm Wine & Beer Bistro, Ric`s Restaurant & Sports Lounge, Ruby`s Mexican Restaurant, Mika Sushi, along with various Salons & Spas. There is also local favorite (ie. `world-famous`) Rolling Pin Donuts nearby!
If you`re feeling adventurous for a stroll, I recommend traversing any road that leads upward into the hills of The Camarillo Heights. You will get a great workout and the farmland views out to the Pacific Ocean from `the top of the world` are incredible.
Random (yet helpful) Need-to-Knows · The property is part of the unincorporated county area - Camarillo Heights. This area of Camarillo is on mutual well water, which produces `hard water` (please research online if you`re unfamiliar). Ultimately, it is more minerally in taste and scent. Some folks may be sensitive to this type of water as it is not conditioned/soft water... it is au naturale, if you will. We have placed a water filter in the fridge to accommodate comfort levels for cooking or drinking. As lifelong residents to the area, we do not find issue with this water type, but think it`s important to give folks who aren`t from the area a heads up :-)
Also, the portable air conditioner is in the bedroom to ensure a comfortable climate for sleeping. If you are unfamiliar with portable air conditioners, please note that they are internal room units that attach to a window for ventilation (it is not a central system for the entire space). Since they are internal to the room you will hear the machine working to keep the room cool - noise level will depend on the strength of the setting you select. You will want to make sure you have the correct setting on and the door closed to keep the desired climate. Quiet Hours: 9pm - 7am Designated parking is right side of driveway & in front (DO NOT park in front of neighbors or in their driveway spot). NO Pets NO Smoking anywhere on property NO roaming in the orchard
Towel Rules Please ONLY use the bath & hand towels provided upon check-in (we supply an appropriate amount based on length of stay).
If you absolutely need an additional towel(s) then please message Host to inform of how many more you will be using.
• $2 Charge for additional towel usage • $5 Charge for additional towel usage without messaging Host • DO NOT use towels to wipe up spills in the kitchen... paper towels are under the kitchen sink for those types of incidences • Please be respectful, do not abuse the option or damage the towels from improper use.

There was good communication between the host and us . The home was clean and accommodating and had a lovely little patio courtyard. It was so pleasant to sit and have a breakfast.

Clean place, clear directions and pictures provided upon check in, I just wish they had mentioned there was no AC in the unit.

Thank you for staying with us and leaving a review, Jeremy! We don't have AC marked on the listing, but we can now see how that may be overlooked if not in the description too so we'll make that adjustment to help future guests. Hopefully, the two fans provided in the apartment still helped combat the heat. All our best!
Sterling was very understanding of our situation, He also provided us a very clean and extremely quiet location to stay ! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality place to relax and enjoy ! Thank You Very Much !
Was in Camarillo for business. The apartment was nice and clean. While I was there it was very quiet. Has its own parking area flagged off in the Avocado grove. Prefect for what I needed.

This was a cute place for last minute stay. The only thing is suggest is getting the ceiling fan fixed because it was hot and while there was an AC unit in the room it did not reach to the living room. The free breakfast was opened boxes of cereal and opened milk. Which we did not use because who knows if someone did something to the cereal or milk. You never know. I’d suggest buying the smaller cereal boxes this way the guest can choose and know that the boxes are sealed. Personal size mills as well. If you like creamer with your coffee bring some. There is cool ways to make coffee. Also provide napkins or paper towels. Other than that it was clean and quiet. We would stay again.
I was mislead by the positive reviews. They are so high--Higher than the Ritz Carleton. That should have been my first red flag. This apartment was dirty. It looked like the dishes in the cabinets had not been used or washed in a long long time. The shower curtain rod was covered in rust. The toilet bowl brush in the bathroom looked like it dated back to the 90s and had disgusting slimy rusty water in it's container. Grout and caulk was chipping/peeling in spots and the bathroom was disgusting. I ran a wet wad of toilet paper along the edge of the sink and it brought up major grime. The place smelled too. There was an old stinky chair that I would never want to sit in.
While I did not sleep in that skeevy bed, I did do a bounce test and could feel the springs. The sheets were paper thin and I could see my hand through them.
The ambience is terrible. It had dead plants and not one but two completely faded American flags. The view from the porch was a bunch of industrial farming equipment. This is a scam. We had to book elsewhere.
This was the perfect spot to lay our heads for our short time in Camarillo but you could totally set up shop to stay for a while. It’s a large space with pretty much everything you would need! Thanks for hosting us!
Perfectly placed in a working avocado orchard. Very quiet and private. My husband and I had a wonderful stay.

I was initially very happy until my out of town guests who told me after the fact that they were bitten by something in bed. After listening to this, I’m certain there were bedbugs. It was a peaceful and unusual setting and I appreciated the provision of basic perishables and toiletries.
This was a lovely place to stay during our time in Camarillo. The apartment had everything we needed and was quite charming. It was easy to check in and out, and the owners were super responsive and accommodating. I would stay here again in a second.
We enjoyed our stay at the peaceful Avocado Acres. We highly recommend staying here. The only dislike was the water for drinking and brushing our teeth. Even the filtered water provided in the fridge was unacceptable to us so we purchased water.
