Gorgeous new resort!
We just returned from a week stay at Vista Encantada. We used Interval & exchanged our home resort for this one. The resort is over-the-top gorgeous! The views are spectacular, the rooms are spacious & luxurious, and the staff is very friendly & happy to answer any question you might have. We had many very nice discussions with Zury, Brendaly, & Omar. They answered all our questions, suggested things to do/see and also just talked with us about whatever. They seemed genuinely happy to see us & interested in making our stay memorable which it was. Every worker we passed in the resort greeted us also!
Vista Encantada has only been open for about 1 month & we were the 1st to stay in our room; they had just finished it! We had a 1 bedroom suite so it had a living room and a kitchen along with the bedroom & bathroom. All the rooms have balconies that face the ocean with a beautiful view; we enjoyed our coffee/tea there almost every morning. The artwork was beautiful, the bathroom was amazing & they do have a very easy to use safe in the room. (As always, when traveling, use the safe for your valuables.)
Hacienda Encantada is right next door & we had full access to that resort & their many pools & restaurants. Ask someone up front about the various phases of construction of the resorts. This is referenced a lot when we were given directions, ie "Phase 2 pool", so once we understood that we had a much easier time finding everything. The rooftop pool at Vista is breath-taking & the views around the resort are spectacular! Hacienda does have a beachfront but it is too rocky for swimming. There are lounge chairs to sit right on the edge of the beach & you can walk on the beach but no swimming. There is a swimming pool right there though (& many other pools with fantastic views) so this wasn't a big deal to us. There is a shuttle into downtown Cabo ($5/person/1 way) & there is a public swimming beach there. The shuttle is also nice for sight-seeing in Cabo.
There is a National rental car right on the premises & since we like to get out & about, we rented a car for a day (bartered for an extra 1/2 day) & went to San Jose del Cabo (30-ish min drive) & Todos Santos (1 hour-ish drive). The drive to Todos Santos was beautiful with mountains on one side & the ocean on the other.
The resort does offer an all-inclusive package but we did not purchase it. We used our rental car to go to a local Walmart to purchase some groceries for breakfast & some lunches in our room. We like vacationing this way so the all-inclusive didn't make sense for us. We also felt that many of the restaurants for dinner were priced quite high for us so this gave us a way to keep our spending down. Also, I wanted to mention that there was a $12 daily fee added to our bill, we were told for tips for those workers we didn't come in direct contact with like the gardeners & maintenance crew. The grounds were indeed beautiful & well kept. I don't remember other resorts charging for something like this but some places charge for use of wifi so it's always something. :) Wifi at Vista is free.
The resort provides a good amount of activities during the week: water volleyball, Spanish lessons, a daily morning bicycle ride, "ArtWalk" in San Jose del Cabo on Thursday nights, water aerobics, cocktail class, etc. Fernan did a wonderful job making us feel welcome on the activities in which we participated.
I highly recommend this resort!
