Bluewater is large, sun-drenched, and newly decorated! New LVT plank flooring and modern bathroom fixtures throughout, freshly painted, and extra clean!
The main floor is beachy, bright, and spacious and an ideal space for relaxing and reconnecting with loved ones in beautiful Corolla, OBX. There are numerous decks with lots of seating, a screened porch with dining table, gas grill, plus a hot tub and hammock and swinging seats in the shade. After a long day at the beach, there are two outdoor showers to choose from.
**Please note, we do not provide propane for the grills. Guests are asked to please replace tank after use. Please be kind and do not leave an empty tank for the next guests. Thank you!**
It sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in the beautiful Villages at Ocean Hill neighborhood. It is stone’s throw from the fitness center; 15-acre lake; lakeside pool; tennis basketball, and shuffleboard courts; and playground. It is a short stroll or bike ride to the beach-front pool. There is a great view of the Currituck Lighthouse which comes to life each evening at dark.
Bluewater is about half a mile from the 4-wheel drive beach access, so you can pack up a cooler and spend the day on the gorgeous, uncrowded beaches. Keep an eye out for the wild horses--just make sure to stay 50 feet away! :)
Bedrooms:
There are two masters on the second floor with king beds and en suite bathrooms. One of the masters has a built-in desk with printer/fax/copier.
On the ground level, there is a bunk room that sleeps four (*please note: max weight on top bunk is 165 lbs) and two additional bedrooms with queen beds. All beds are less than 2 years old and plush. We provide sheets and bath towels for your use, so no packing or renting linens.
Check-in:
Check in on Friday during the peak season. Get settled and relaxing faster and with less hassle than Saturday-Saturday rentals (when 65-70% of OBX vacationers arrive/depart).
Community amenities: Guests have access to two community pools (lakeside, which is very close to the house) and oceanside. Each booking allows for 6 guests to access the fitness center, plus FREE tennis and pickleball court access.
Getting to the Beach:
Walking (6-8 minutes): Slip out the back door, walk across to Ocean Hill Blvd East, turn left onto Windance Lane, access to beach (and closest parking lot) on right side about 600 feet down the street.
Driving/Biking (2 minutes): North on Rt. 12 about 1/4 mile, after sharp turn, turn right onto Headwind Way. Parking lot, ocean-side pool and snack bar are straight ahead.
Hot Tub and Pools:
There is a 5-6 person hot tub on the second level in the shade under the screened porch (3rd level). We do not have a private pool, but the closest neighborhood pool is within 200 feet of the house and we have usually found it to be quiet and not crowded. Both that pool and the ocean-side pool are large and staffed during the day and include chairs and tables with umbrellas. Our private community pool is open approximately Memorial Day through Labor Day. Dates are subject to change due to weather and/or staffing shortages.
Beach gear:
The outdoor storage unit includes 1 Burley bike trailer (seats two toddlers), 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 mesh camping chairs, 4 foldable beach chairs, 3 small children’s beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 1 skim board, 2 adult life jackets, 1 youth life jacket, and one toddler (age 2-5) life jacket.
What we LOVE about this house:
The home has a TON of character and is much more unique than most houses in the area. The open-concept great room and kitchen are filled with large windows. It’s the perfect place to kick back, relax, and recharge.
What we LOVE about this location:
The Villages at Ocean Hill is a beautiful lakefront and oceanfront community on the north side of Corolla. It is half a mile from the 4x4 beach access and the Currituck Banks Coastal Estuarine Reserve which has a 1.5-mile boardwalk (walking trail) into the sound. It is a quiet area yet still close to everything you need.
It is within walking distance to pizza, ice cream, a beer garden, shops, and Corolla Adventure Park (so fun!). You can get around by foot and bikes (recommend renting in advance!) most of the day, but will need a car for grocery shopping and to check out restaurants in southern Corolla and Duck.
