Great location for family with nature trails, history, wonderful beach, lots of comfort, quiet as away from crowds, turtles and horses to see, not too far from supermarket, bikes to ride.
Great porperty location and layout. It is obvious that this house needs a little TLC and some renovations as we had a leak in one of the rooms the night it rained and there are some dust and mold areas, but overall we had a wonderful time.

We are very sorry for any maintenance inconvenience to our guest and we take the safety and comfort of our guests very seriously. We consider an 8/10 rating as unacceptable by our standards in that our objective and normal is 10/10. We knew about the window leak due to recent named storms and made immediate repairs that passed inspection before this reporting guest arrived.
Under VRBO rules, we could have easily canceled this reservation if we had serious doubts about repairs that would impact health or safety of guests. Instead we made what we were told were sufficient repairs and chose not to spoil the reporting guests vacation.
The repairs to the window seal and flashing are back in process now and mold from leakage proved to be just "water stains" on drywall. Our goal is to make lasting repairs before next guest arrives and restore highest category of reviews by our cherished guests.

Perfect family beach house. Not too fancy that we felt afraid to let the kids enjoy themselves and nice enough to feel at home. The pool and basketball court etc were right across the street which was very convenient for the parents. The neighborhood was safe to led the kids ride bikes without a parent.
We had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. It was very nice to have grocery items available upon check in! Rod was quick to respond to my questions.
My family and I had a great time in this home. It was very spacious and had plenty of amenities.
Beach access was close enough to walk or short drive to the beach parking lots. The owner of the home was also easy to get in touch with and was always very polite.
Our family had a wonderful time. It’s a beautiful and convenient location. It was clean and suited our needs. The owner was easy to communicate with and accommodating! We hope to stay here again in the future!
House was great for our large family with lots of games and activities. Beach was just a short distance away. We were very comfortable with plenty of space and beds. Rod was very available, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely consider staying here if in the area again.
The house had everything we needed, ten minute walk to the beach, close to the 4x4 beach, we were able to see some of the Corolla wild horses, we enjoyed the wild horse museum, the lighthouse, riding bikes around the neighborhood, the pool, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The house was a good size. Not an overly touristy area which we were thankful for.
Just finished up a weeklong stay at this property - the house was comfortable and spacious for our party of 6 adults and 4 kids. The location is fantastic! Lighthouse views from the deck, short walk or drive to the beach, great community amenities including pools, trails and lake. We felt the property management company and housekeeping could have done a better job in cleaning and prepping for arrival but the owner was great in his communication to manage our questions.

The COVID cleaning protocols are still in place and cleaning staffs are short staffed and challenged to keep up with high property demand. Currently, all surfaces must be throughly santitized to include all knobs, handles, etc. As such, sometimes there is not enough time for cleaning crews to put away a dryer load of clean towels or clean dishes in the dishwasher. Many resorts don't put clean items away as a rule.
The current focus is sanitization and will be until the pandemic is far behind us. Sincerely, the property management.
Loved the house and the cozy living room and all the deck space. Was bummed the amenities of the neighborhood were not available after round 6pm. Also the fee to rent the tennis and pickleball was 25 per hour. Too expensive in myo and we love tennis and pickleball. Also to use the gym/fitness for the week was 350... also too expenisve. Thank goodness for the bikes! They were awesome and a great way to see the island. Also the little nature trail by the house was fun. The lot is spacious and private. Loved being so close to the lighthouse. Fireworks on the 4th from the deck was awesome! Great beach house overall!
Property was very nice and convenient to everything. Other than a few issues with house keeping and a broken diahwasher, everything was very good. Nicely laid out property. Ita a rental property and i understand that, but moat pf the extras (bicycles, beach toys, chairs, etc., volleyball net and court) were unusuable, but we had packed and were prepared aith our own equipment. Would enjoy staying again.

Repair part for dishwasher was ordered the moment it failed. Like many such things, the appliance part supply chain is slower than it should be. Dishwasher was repaired immediately upon the service company receiving the part via FedEx. As for housekeeping, there was a brief power outage after a thunder storm passed over the island and slowed the cleaning service from having the house cleaned before guests arrived. It was completely cleaned within one hour of guest arrival despite the power outage. We work hard to ensure our guests to experience the best possible vacation at the beach.
If you are looking for a place to stay in the Outer Banks, look no further. In addition to being clean and comfortable, this house is conveniently located within the beautiful community of VILLAGES AT OCEAN HILL. Our family members enjoyed all of the amenities including the 2 pools, private beach, playground, fitness center, tennis and pickle ball. Rod Bradshaw (owner/mgr) was the perfect host. Having to reach out a few times, Rod was quick to respond. This vacation home was a 10 out of 10. We plan to return next year.
We brought all of our grandchildren with us in this vacation. The house was perfect for us. Very child friendly. Well stocked. As always we over packed for the trip. Brought fans, beach chairs, coolers and many other things we have needed for other beach trips. This house had it all. We honestly only needed to bring ourselves and our clothes.
The neighborhood was nice and quiet everyone was friendly. The house had plenary of room for our party of 9. The beach is a little further than I’d would have liked it to be but we made it work just fine. Only real negative thing I can say is the community pool hours 10am-6pm.
My childhood best friend and I booked Rod’s home for a stay with our families. We had the best week imaginable! The location of this home was excellent (right next to club house, pool, and all sports facilities) and the ease of parking across the street for private beach access WITH a beachside pool was one of our favorite things! The house itself was clean, very comfortable (my husband is still talking about how much he loved the couch) and definitely the best stocked home I’ve stayed in at OBX. Plenty of clean towels, linens and dishes - all we brought were clothes and food! Was great to have bikes, boogie boards and beach chairs already there for our use. The hot tub was great on the cooler nights and we enjoyed the view of the lighthouse. Rod was a communicative and hospitable host who did all he could to ensure we had a fantastic vacation. We’re already planning to book his home again next summer!
My husband (we got married on the beach near the property during this trip) and I absolutely loved the house & location! We are an active (and competitive) group with our youngest 10yrs old & the oldest 20. We had our daily beach Volleyball games in the sport complex, played tennis, basketball & even took advantage of the greens for some friendly soccer! The reserve was literally a quick 5-7 min walk away & my daughters & I took advantage of the trails for some daily exercise. 4x4 beach right down the road & we were fortunate to see some wild horses on the beach as well! There were 10 of us total on this trip- so more than enough room in the house! The house was clean, decorated very beachy cute & only a minute away from the closest pool (10 min walk to Oceanside pool). The foosball table on property also was also a huge hit ! We couldn't have asked for a better vacation/wedding week & definitely can see ourselves going back!
Other than the property not being ready for us to check in as it hadn’t been cleaned yet we were pleased with the property and found it to be as advertised. The property manager did get a cleaning crew there quickly when I card to inform them the house hadn’t been cleaned yet. Our check in was slightly delayed but all was good.
The park next to the house was convenient for the kids to play and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. There is a pool right across the street which made it easy for everyone. My only really disappointment was that the property isn’t as close to the beach as I’d hoped. It’s not really convenient to walk, especially if you have items to carry. But overall I’d say it’s a good value and we would stay again.
Two families stayed here with kids ranging from 12-23 years old. We love this community! It is the only area we stay in when we come to OBX. This house had the best porch of any houses we stayed at so far—clean, multiple comfortable seating options, two umbrellas. We spent a lot of time out there! The living room was spacious for all of us to be together but not on top of each other. The bed options were great as most of our crew wanted their own beds. The only reason it wasn’t a 10/10 is the kitchen. There were things missing that we assume are standard—griddle, spatulas, a complete set of measuring cups/spoons. There were a couple pans that had leftover food on them. We cook a lot as eating out with our crew is expensive so if you don’t use the kitchen much, this house is fantastic. (These are also quick fixes!) On the plus side, there was an ice maker and a coffee maker/keurig! And the house had extra supplies of coffee/spices/paper goods if you needed them. Another perk is the location of the house to the pool, tennis courts and basketball court. We needed to pay an hourly fee to use the pickleball court. The location is fantastic if you have guests who want to swim!
The location of this particular house, along with the included amenities through Village at Ocean Hill, solidified our decision to try this rental. The house is a short walk from one of the two pools included with the house stay, as is the greenway and two other trails. We also could see the basketball, pickleball, and tennis courts from our front balconies, so we were able to let our pre-teen boys wander around a little on their own to shoot some hoops (tennis/pickleball courts were an additional fee, as was the indoor fitness area). The best amenity, we all agreed, was the beachside pool. It was SO convenient to be able to rinse off at the showers and then enjoy the warm, clean water (as well as bathrooms). Parking was also included with the stay, so even though it only took about 5 minutes by bike, we were also able to bring a vanload of beach things over.
We did have an issue at check-in with the immediate cleanliness of the house, but we soon learned, after a rapid response from the owner, that the previous guests had left the home in shambles and the cleaning service had struggled to finish in time for check in. The owner offered to send another cleaning crew out and responded quickly and cordially to all of our concerns and even offered us a discount for our help with a plumbing issue, etc. We would definitely stay at this home again, as the owner was phenomenal to work with, the location is amazing, the house is beautiful, and the amenities are a great bonus.
This house was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space, everything we could need for a week (extra towels, pillows, blankets, etc). We loved the neighborhood and it's proximity to the beach, pools, playground and turtle pond. We felt safe and comfortable during the entire stay. The host was excellent at communicating! Would definitely rent again.
Beautiful beach house within walking distance to the beach, along with access to two swimming pools. House is exactly as pictured. There was nothing we needed and the Owner was extremely helpful and exceptional to work with. Definitely plan to return for more family fun in the sun!
We had an awesome time and the house was great. Clean, lots of amenities and good location. The area was quiet and safe. Would definitely book this house again
