We enjoyed our stay very much. It was near our extended family across the road in Lake George and we had a ton of room. The house is extremely clean and well-equipped with everything needed. Highly recommend. And you can't beat the view of the lake.
Denise provides the most magical, cozy and fully stocked Lake View Cottage. The house was beautifully decorated and had every amenity for cooking, cleaning and children’s entertainment! Short drive to a private beach and close to both LGV and Bolton Landing. We will definitely be back next Summer!!

Thank you Kimberly! The house was left perfectly clean and in order. I couldn't have asked for a better guest. Thank you so much for your kind words and I am looking forward to hosting you and your family again next year. Denise
Beautiful area for autumn with diverse choices for a weekend.
The house has a very warm feeling that easily accommodated us for the weekend. A nice master bedroom downstairs & 3 bedrooms up for others as well. It is situated between the village of Lake George with restaurants & shops and Bolton Landing to the north with great restaurants as well. We went to a restaurant called beyond the sea which was very good. The house was very homey. The owner very responsive & helpful if needed.
This property was so beautiful. This was one of the best weekends we had! We had one day of weather that was not normal for this time of year. Thankfully we had such a gorgeous house to stay warm in. Denise was amazing if we had questions. I hope to come back and get to enjoy the lake, when the weather cooperates. Close to the restaurants, plenty to do. Not to sound redundant, but I can’t wait to come back

Thank you Blaire for your review. I am so happy you enjoyed my home: You and your guests are welcome back anytime! Please come again soon. Thank you, Denise
Our family was very pleased with the rustic, cabin style of the home. It is an older house, but this adds to the charm of the place. The view is beautiful from out on the deck and we loved sharing time around the campfire. The games are a nice touch for children!
As for the host, Denise, I have never had someone respond to me so quickly after EVERY message I sent her (and there were many). Denise was extremely helpful and accommodating. We will definitely consider renting again and we highly recommend it.
The house, the location, the accommodations were more than we could have asked for. It was home away from home. We started out with our family of 6 but due to work schedules only 4 of us could go. So we were totally spoiled to have so much room to spread out.
This was our first trip to Lake George and the house was perfectly situated between Lk George Village and Bolton Landing.
We will definitely come back again. Thank you Denise for sharing your wonderful home with us.

We were disappointed with the house. There was a damp smell throughout the house! There were someone’s dirty underwear in one of the dresser drawers! The description on VRBO was misleading. With regards to location to private beach. We were stopped by someone that lived in area an told you could not swim in the said area!
The entire home was not what we expected

Thanks for your feedback as I always want my guests to be happy with their stay. I take seriously the cleanliness of my home that is why I personally clean it. I wish Karen would have communicated the issue when she arrived instead of after she left as I certainly would have come back right away to clean out any items left in a drawer. Oversights can happen as cleaning between stays is always a challenge to get done before the next guest arrives. I try to get my guests in at a reasonable check in time and I certainly may have missed an item in the drawer that is why I refunded them 1/2 the cleaning fee to compensate. It was a rainy week so as with any house in the woods it would feel damper than if the sun was shining there is no smell. I certainly DO have access to the private beach across the street as part of my deeded property and if anyone told them that it was not true. Again, if the guest would have called me I would have reinforced that I absolutely do have rights and access to the beach area. A 2 second text and the matter would have been over. My description and listing are 100% accurate on VRBO and as anyone can read on my reviews page they are quite positive. Better communication on my guests part with me would have mitigated the small issues the guests speak of. I was extremely apologetic to Karen for the left clothing as any host would be. Denise
Nice house but with some quirks, good central location for activities for lake, very clean inside owner supplies linens and towels nice plus also supplies games to keep busy during down time. I don't recommend it for people who might have trouble walking several step downs in house might be a fall hazard. House is listed as walking distance to open beech but I recommend the short drive to path especially if you are bringing items, its a fairly steep path. Large deck with picnic table and with chairs with nice views of the lake, fire pit in back for marshmallow cooking. I didn't give it all 5 stars because of the outside garden needs some caring for a bit overgrown from the online photos. Its a older home with add ons so everything can't be expected to be perfect.

As indicated in the listing the walk to the beach is about 7 minutes with incline and decline.. the picture of the path is listed and I would not characterize it as “steep” but is down hill with Adirondack steps set into the hill. I provide a back pack style cooler and beach blanket as part of the experience and you certainly can drive to the trailhead to drop your items if you wish. The outside pictures of the garden were taken pre spring and have filled in with perennials that bloom at different times of the season. The yard is kept up each week with a woodsy feel that most come to experience. There are a few steps down into the home nothing out of the ordinary. I am glad you enjoyed the home and your stay in Lake George.
Very lovely house in a great location. Very charming and cozy with adorable decoration. Plenty of amenities, games, extra linens, TVs, and everything you could want in the kitchen. Lovely view of the lake from the porches, great to sit out at night or early morning with your coffee. Only minutes from the village and lots of other local attractions, so really a great little spot. Denise was very communicative and check in/out was a breeze. My only complaint is the description of the beach access. If you don’t care about being able to walk to the beach, this place is just perfect. But the listing at the time I booked made it seem that we have almost instant access to a beach area. Now it says walking distance. It is absolutely NOT walkable. It’s pretty far by foot, across a highway, and the incline to get back is very steep and not easy to walk. This was an issue for us, because we had little kids with us, so a selling point of this home over others was being able to easily access the beach with little kids and their gear, and our paddle boards. So the house itself is absolutely amazing and I loved it, but the beach access should really be left out of the title/description as a selling point, the house can sell itself without it, and it was a real disappointment for us. If you aren’t worried about beach access, however, this is definitely a wonderful house to stay in.

Thank you Jenn for your kind words about my home. I just wanted to touch on your comment about the beach access. My listing has always been the same no changes were ever made. It states that the beach is a walking residents beach. The listing also says that it is about a 7 min. walk with incline and decline. It has always said that. The beach area pictures show the trail head access at the top to show the stepped hill going down. It is a nice alternative to staying in a very pricey place right on the water. If you like and are able to walk with incline and decline it is a nice spot as it is only for the residents in that area. Honestly, most of the time no one is there. It is nice for small children as the water front is very still. I would suggest doing a car drop off of younger children and all your equipment to the trailhead and walk from there. Choose the driver to be the one to do the 7 minute walk. I do provide a backpack style cooler bag and backpack beach blanket as part of the adventure! The house manual also suggests nearby beaches that you can drive to...Hearthstone State Park ( public) is 1 min. down the road with a sandy lifequarded beach and a car fee of $10 last time I checked and offers public facilities as well. A few miles in town is the Million Dollar public beach ( flat walk). Up north in Bolton about 9 miles, are two public beaches, one has a hill and one is flat. Again, my resident beach is private to the houses in that area and so it has less people, virtually no one during the week. I am also available to answer any questions prior to booking. I often respond within 5 min. If you like to walk with hills this is an AMAZING BEACH FRONT if not there are others you can drive to that are minutes away. Thank you Jenn again for your review you and your family were a pleasure to have. Denise
Very quaint, charming home with a beautiful view with some issues.
The house has a nice deck and great view of the lake. Very cozy and nicely decorated. Master bedroom is nice and spacious and other bedrooms are pretty small but quaint. Upstairs bathroom needs an overhaul, we all mainly used the downstairs bathroom. Nice spacious living room and dining room. Inside porch with view is great. That being said, the kitchen is very narrow. The first night we were there and water was leaking from a recessed light so we reached out to the owner who told us to make sure the upstairs shower curtain was inside the tub. 😮 Seems to me there were a few issues that they were aware of but didn't bother to fix - more minor issues were one of the blinds was broken and the outside chairs were covered with bird poop and leaves. I was most taken back by the water leaking reply. Seems to me that it would be something you'd want to address right away. We also noticed that one bed was a mattress over pieces of wood that were cut and put inside the box spring. The internet service was also not great. There were a few times we were not able to make a call. Overall, very quaint but don't think I would stay again.

Hi Patricia,
Just to touch on a few of your comments. There were no issues with the upstairs bathroom it is a newly remodeled bathroom. The issue was, as I explained to you when you reached out. Your guest who was showering did not put the shower liner inside the tub so the water was dripping out all over the floor through my ceiling below. I advised to please tell all the guests to put the shower curtain inside the tub. Should I have to come and demonstrate that? That was the issue nothing else. Second, the phone service has zero to do with the internet which works fine. Your cell service carrier was the problem. I have Verizon and AT&T and making calls is never an issue. I pride myself on providing a nice clean property never has any of my other guests once complained of the cleanliness as my reviews demonstrate. I won't even comment back on the bird and leaves on the outside furniture I can only laugh. The pictures are 100% accurate and depict my home completely. Denise
5 stars all around. We had an amazing stay! The house was in a wonderful location, as we were close to the Village and Bolton Landing. The property was quite clean and private. Amazing views of the lake. We had a perfect week.
Great location and plenty of space. We were up for a motorcycle trip. Getting up the driveway in the rain was a little tricky bit it added to the adventure. If you’re a good rider you will have no issue. Fantastic weekend enjoying Lake George and touring the Adirondacks.
Beautiful location and home. Furnished perfectly to make you feel comfortable yet "away" in a mountain setting. Plenty of space to dine and relax as a family (indoors and out) or separate into small groups for personal time. Walk to the water was managed by our 4 year old grandchild but we have just been told you can now drive the few minutes in a car so this house is perfect. We enjoyed the waterfront space to ourselves, several times. Indoor and outdoor games provided. Full kitchen made it easy to prepare our weeks worth of various meals. Sunrise and sunset on the deck are breath- taking. It was everything we wanted and more.

Hi Diane, I am thrilled you and your family enjoyed your stay. I did find out you CAN park down by the private resident beach ( literally a min. By car if you don’t want to walk.). There is also a fabulous beach for younger children right down the road at Hearthstone State Park...less than a 1/4 mile south. There is a full life guarded sandy beach as well. You can get a day pass there for a car full. Just another option for the little ones. My favorite thing is to watch the perfect view of sunrise and sunsets! They are colorful and fabulous! Thank you for your kind words, I hope you will return again next year! Denise
Loved the house, beautiful view, was very comfortable. Just be aware it’s easy to walk down to the lake but the walk up is challenging. As long as your group is good with that you will really like this place.

Thank you Rick and Sue for your kind review of my home. I recently did a little digging around and have found out it is ok to park down on the street by the entrance to the trail to the lake. As long as you are not blocking any driveways or are on any lawns...this will help for those guests that do not wish to do the walk. It is a short walk 7 min. or so...yes for sure easier on the way down...more difficult on the way up depending on your mobility level. So for those looking for a rental with access to a resident only beach instead of using public beaches, this is a good choice. Most of my guests have stated there were few in not any others there. It is a beautiful spot, with calm waters for children to enjoy especially. I wish I knew sooner parking is ok..I was told otherwise by the previous owner falsely. My listing is updated to reflect the availability of the parking for easier access. Thank you Rick and Sue ...you were perfect guests.. please come back again soon! Denise
We had a wonderful weekend in Lake George! We rented this property and could not have been happier. The house was very clean and cozy. We loved the indoor fireplace and the view of the lake was amazing. It was so nice waking up each morning, enjoying beautiful Lake George while having a hot cup of coffee on the covered front porch or outside deck. Denise was very helpful and responsive to all of our needs and requests. We will definitely be going back.

Nice but...
The house overall is very nice, however, the description of the location could’ve been better because there is no easy access to walk to the beach-you need to cross a very active highway. Also, the mattresses in 3 of the bedrooms need to be updated and there were a lot of stink bugs in 2 of the bedrooms on the walls and on 2 of the beds. Very unsettling. We were a group of 4 & one of us left a day early because that. Such a shame when you pay so much For a very needed getaway. Was disappointed.

Good Day To You.. The description of the the walk to the beach is listed on the website I wish the guest would have read it carefully. It clearly describes a 7 min walk with incline and decline. Lake George is a tourist, busy town all the roads are busy. The location is close to everything thus more traffic. The east side of the lake would have been a better choice for “less traffic”. Although I do have a pest company come spray every month for insects, in October is when they appear, the stink bugs still can get in on clothes .. fire wood or things brought in. They are harmless non biting and non stinging. It is the Adirondacks and the home is in a wooded area as stated on the website. During this stay, I had not taken the window air units out yet as sometimes weather can still get warm.. that was possibly the point of entry. I’m sorry the guests were upset I did call the pest company to come and increase the pest spraying again. I will factor that in again for next Oct. as needed. Thanks for your feedback I will review all my comments for improvements for next season. My Best Denise
