About this property

West Asheville - Elegant, Historic Suite In Funky, Foodieville, Eclectic Living

This listing is for the Atkinson Suite (Please see Bennett Suite listed here on Vrbo as well.)

Come and enjoy the historic Atkinson Suite of Inn on Westwood, which is located in the heart of funky West Asheville. West Asheville is known for its hip, vintage, and laid-back vibe, with local restaurants serving up comfort food, music venues booking up-and-coming acts, and shops filled with yet-to-be-discovered treasures.

All are very walkable and friendly. This private vacation home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in the 1870s and converted into an Inn in 2014. Full of special touches, it features 13-foot ceilings, arched double doors, and beautiful crown molding. Rooms are spacious and filled with light from the grand, original floor-to-ceiling windows.

Enjoy the private, covered back porch with your morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the mountains with an evening cocktail. The Atkinson Suite has one king-size bed and one full-size bed, sleeping a total of four people.

The Atkinson features a spacious and comfortable living room, a large dining room, a gourmet, fully-appointed chef's kitchen, two peaceful bedrooms, a period-correct and historically renovated ultra-modern bathroom, a shared front porch with rocking chairs, and a private covered back porch.

Amenities
The home is fully stocked for your vacation needs with complimentary tea and coffee, red and white wine, beer, granola bars, chocolate, and a chef's kitchen ready for you to use. Enjoy plush towels, bathrobes, and our Aveda bath products.

A hairdryer, make-up wipes, an iron, an ironing board, coat hangers, and wireless Internet are available. The Inn uses all-natural cleaning products.

Outdoors
Enjoy a game of cornhole or use the fire pit for roasting marshmallows on cool mountain evenings. The over one-acre grassy backyard is available for any outdoor activities you would like to enjoy.

We want you to enjoy your stay in Asheville, unplug, and unwind. Therefore, there are no TVs at the Inn, but there is the ultimate high-speed wireless internet service.

House Rules
No smoking or vaping in the house.
No TVs at the house, so you can unwind and relax.
For the comfort of all guests staying in the Inn in either the Atkinson Suite or the Bennett Suite, quiet hours are observed between 10 pm and 7 am.

There is NO on-site laundry or daily cleaning services. For guests enjoying extended stays, we provide additional towels upon request. Children are always welcome, but unfortunately, we cannot accept pets.

Interaction with Guests
We are always available for questions, recommendations, emergencies, etc. While each suite is completely separate and very private, be aware that this is an Inn, and unless you rent the entire house, expect to hear some possible noise from other guests next door.

These are two completely separate units/suites, each having its own kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, etc. The only shared portion is the large covered old-fashioned front porch.

The Neighborhood
The Inn is located in the heart of the thriving community of West Asheville. There are a dozen bars, breweries, coffee shops, farm-to-table restaurants, and cute and quirky shops all within walking distance. It is only two miles from downtown Asheville or the South Slope and a half-mile from New Belgium Brewing.

Reserving Both Suites
If you're interested in reserving both the Atkinson Suite and Bennett Suite, please state this in your inquiry. There are large, ten-foot-tall arched double doors that we open so you and your guests may freely go between suites. If looking for the sister suite- Bennett Suite, the VRBO listing number is 1836838.

Check out the local farmer's market or bike along the French Broad River Park's many paved paths. It is a very family-friendly neighborhood.

Getting Around
Asheville has a bus system, taxis, Uber, Lyft, sidewalks, and many bike racks to help you get around in your preferred style. The Inn has easy access to the interstate and local attractions.
