Situated in a resort in Carson Valley in the historic town of Genoa, surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains and only 16 miles east of Lake Tahoe. Famous for its natural mineral hot springs, this historic resort overlooks conservation land with stunning mountain views. When you’re not lounging in the hot springs or swimming in the heated outdoor pool, enjoy a delectable meal in a lavish, rustic environment at the 1862 Restaurant and Saloon on the property. Dine indoors or out by the fire pit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I stayed at the resort for two nights, as I was planning to buy a house in Carson City. Very friendly staff at the front desk. They made me feel welcome and gave me wonderful advice on cafes, restaurants, and tourist attractions. My suite was gorgeous - great kitchen, fireplace, dining room table, jacuzzi, and comfortable bed. Coffee machine was convenient, I enjoyed the warm service and well-priced food at the 1862 restaurant. I highly recommend this lodging if you are looking for a place to relax close to South Lake Tahoe.

getting into the hot springs was very relaxing , and the rental was quiet, and had a kitchen that was comfortable with what I needed to fix meals- the "cons" - the sliding glass door was very difficult to open and close..the bathroom sink was impossible to shut off all the way and the commode was so low it was difficult for an older person to get off. The staff was very nice and professional...

Nice place. The modern natural hot springs are very clean our room was a suite with a full kitchen, so we were able to cook in our room, saving a ton on eating out prices. We also used the BbQ area which was situated near our room, cooking our own T-bone steaks. We had a eastern exposure view which I highly recommend. As the western view is pretty much the parking lot. Lots of wildlife viewing as well as gorgeous sunrise from the eastern view, consider bringing binoculars or a good camera.

We stayed here for 7 days/6 nights and had a great experience! The amenities were nice and overall, the unit was clean. The carpet, however, could use a cleaning. Very dirty. Our bed sheet had what appeared to be a few spots of blood, also. Other than that, we were very pleased with our stay.

Great property on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada

We couldn’t have asked for a better, more peaceful location. The drive into South Lake Tahoe was beautiful and exciting. There were pathways around the property that allowed you to enjoy the crisp morning air while soaking up a mountain sunrise. There was even hot water bubbling up from the pathways in a few spots. This is definitely not your standard VRBO in that it was more like a hotel or condo. We liked the ease of check-in and -out. We enjoyed the amenities of the property. You can access the hot spring pools daily for a fee, which was not in the listing. Also, there’s a maid service, but I don’t know who it was for (time-share owners?). Anyhow, don’t expect the maids to make your bed or bring fresh towels. There were extra sheets and towels, so nothing to worry about there. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place, clean, comfortable bed, good layout, bonus of washer/dryer. Appliances a bit old, needed maintenance immediately upon arrival to fix oven so we could heat up our meal that night. Nice walk path to little town, which was very quaint, however, this was NOT South Lake Tahoe, which is how this was advertised. I think that is very misleading, as I could not understand why we were headed over the pass to get to this place, which added to the inordinate amount of time before we actually got to the place. GPS could not locate, we called the rental agency and they could not help us either, instructing us to go down “Timmons St.”, which was incorrect. Had to stop into the US Post Office, fortunately was still open for 5 more mins, and they were able to correctly instruct us where the place was. Also not having a spa pass to go with the rental seemed rather cheap, when many others had comp passes.

Great area to stay but the condo needed updating and was not worth $2500 for 14 days. Otherwise we would have bought an apartment. The other huge issue is mold. Smell permeated the place!

Enjoyed my visit. Stayed for four days. The unit needs updating but had a very comfortable king size bed (that wa a plus). Called down to front desk for addition trash bags because the unit only had one trash bucket. We filled the trash within one day. Asked for more but only received one. Over all I was very satisfied with my stay and will stay there again.

Overall, the property was good. Due to COVID, we could not enjoy all the amenities, and nearby attractions were somewhat far away. I'd stay here again once the world is normal again.
