UPDATE - Post Hurricane Ian. The island has been impacted by the hurricane and continues to rebuild daily. Our property has been repaired and is fully operational and open for rentals. Large, open floor plan allows for wonderful family time. From the photos the house looks like a duplex but it is all one private home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and screened porch. Located just minutes from Lovers Key State Park and Dog Beach, your very own private villa awaits. The home has a large heated private pool, overlooking a quiet canal where some of our guests have watched manatees and dolphins playing near the dock. Both the front and back yards are fenced, and we are a dog friendly property. Enjoy relaxing in the pool, or sitting at the wet bar in your own island paradise. You can walk to one of Florida’s most beautiful beaches, just a 5 min walk (3-4 blocks) from your home. As business rebuild on the island, more and more restaurants and bars will open. For updates on the post hurricane recovery, you can check the Ft Myers Beach website or contact us for an update. STR # 21-0175

Winter Getaway

Had a wonderful time here! The house is in a great location. We love the south end of the beach. The house was very comfortable and enjoyed the pool area! The owner was very accommodating for us. Would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing

Owners were super easy to deal with. Location is good, about a 4 block walk to the beach. Still lots of devastation from Hurricane Ian, so not much open on the island and no one was on the beaches, so if you are looking for a quiet get away, this place is great!

Perfect family vacation

We had a great time. The property is great. We loved the pool. We were too lazy to go to the beach but it looked like it was close. Property is well maintained and had everything we needed.

Sand Dollar Paradise

We spent 5 weeks here and loved it! Great location, amazing pool and canal, comfortable and well-equipped house. Fenced yard for our dog, great neighborhood for walking. As the island rebuilds from Ian, be prepared for construction noise (we were happy to hear it). We’re returning in 3 months, and would rent again without hesitation during season (someone beat us to it for 2025, but we’ll be watching for 2026!)

Enjoyed our stay!

We had such a great time here & the house had everything we needed. Especially loved the pool area - spent many hours hanging out in this space. We did manage to see one dolphin in the canal, and enjoyed watching the osprey who lived in a neighboring tree. I walked to the beach almost every morning (about 10 minutes from house to the water line) & felt very blessed because I usually had the beach to myself!! Russell was always on "standby" and answered any questions we had within a few minutes. The only thing missing was a refrigerator for the pool area. : ) Would definitely stay again.

Great house, great quiet location.

This house is great, plenty of outdoor space, plenty of indoor space. Pool was great, wet bar, lower fridge, grill, all fantastic. The manatee’s in the canal were amazing and we watched them daily. We found that a drive to the free parking at the Bonita Springs beaches were a much better beach option than the deeded access or than paying for parking at public access on Estero. We would stay again!

Wonderful place to stay!

This home is wonderful! They have so many extras like pool floats, fishing poles, beach chairs and a beach wagon. They have lots of plates and silverware which is helpful for larger families. And a million towels!! We loved watching the manatees each day in the canal. The host was great with communication and super helpful with information about the house and area. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was perfect for vacation. It’s a beautiful home. The pool was wonderful . Anything you may need for cooking or grilling at the pool bar! Could use some updates . nicely done.

Beautiful Place and a Great Host!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the “Sand Dollar”. This was our family’s first VRBO experience and it lived up to everything we hoped for 15 min drive to the heart of Fort Meyers Beach (Times Square ,Pier) or a 5 minute walk to a more quiet portion of the beach whatever we wanted it was right there for us. Several days we hung out by the beautiful pool and watched manatee all day. House was great , perfect set up for coffee in the morning on screened in porch and a bar near the grills for dinner at pool level. Rusty our host was super responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Our only concern was that it appears he is a Buckeye fan and we bleed Wolverines blue….Thanks Rusty!!!

Comfortable and spacious.

The house suited our needs well and was open and spacious for our group of 2 couples and 3 preschoolers. We enjoyed the pool area with lounge chairs and watching the manatees in the canal. The screen porch was also very enjoyable. Beds were comfortable. Cart, chairs, beach toys provided. Walk was a little farther to the beach than we anticipated for the children. It's not far as the crow flies, but you have to go around the canal.

Everything we were looking for.

This home is perfect. So quiet and peaceful. Close to the beach and Bonita Dog Park. We appreciate the honesty that Patti and Rusty provided about recent renovation work that had not yet been completed to the pool area. Everything was still usable and operational and they were sure to inform us before checking in.

Great Vacation!

The house was exactly what we needed, the best part of the property is the downstairs garage entertainment space, open the garage doors and watch a movie while enjoying the fresh air.

Nice Place

Laguna Shores was excellent. Perfect location to walk to the beach. We loved the fact we could bring our dog……BoBo. He had a great time too walking on the beach and getting his paws wet in the ocean. Manager very responsive to our WiFi questions. Would stay there again!! Thanks!!

Great place!

The house was very clean and Rusty was great to deal with. The king size master bed was very comfortable. We get to see manatees almost every day in the waterway behind the house. The pool was was nice and had bar outside to sit at. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

We enjoyed our week at the property. There was easy parking for our boat outside of the gate and the house was very comfortable. We used the pool every day and enjoyed the beaches at Lover's Key. Host was very responsive and helpful. Loved the neighborhood for biking and walking our dog.

Great Family Vacation

We loved the unit. The children loved the pool. We saw Manatee and iguanas. We ate coconut from one of the coconuts that fell from the tree. We also brought a kayak and kayaked right off the dock from the back of the house. The back screened porch was great for board games and cards after the kids went to sleep. The whole family loved this house!

Great stay on Ft Myers Beach

We just got back from our Ft Myers Beach vacation and our whole family is talking about when we can go back. This rental had everything that we needed in a great location. It was at the south end of the island (which was great since the traffic at the North end was terrible). We saw a family of manatees in the water behind the house and there were green iguanas all over the place. My kids loved it. We can't wait to visit again.

Great house and location

House was great. Fenced in yard was perfect for dogs. Back porch and covered are by pool were very nice places to relax. Thoroughly enjoyed staying on south end of island away from tourist hotspots and getting on/off the island via Bonita Springs. Beach was an easy walk. Gulf Boulevard was under construction (noise, bumpy bypass road, not walk/bike friendly) but should be great when they are done.

Great layout for families

Direct access to the beach and Lovers Key State Park. Our Laguna Shores Neighborhood has their own private beach access that is only a 5 minute walk from the house, and we leave a cart and beach chairs in the garage for renters to use.
