Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We found the accommodations, location and privacy very nice during our one week stay. Great house with river views and lots of windows with a large wraparound deck made taking in the views very relaxing. The TV/Internet, HVAC and overall cleanliness were excellent.
We have amazing vacation Great locationA lot of space , quiet, close to downtown- everything what’s you need to enjoy Our dog refused to leave! Thanks a lot !
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this mountain home. The house was clean, roomy, and well-kept. Also enjoyed the river and beauty of surroundings.
Gem of a rental so close to WCU.
We definitely look to book every time my daughter runs there.
This was a good location and a beautiful spot on the river. Close to the Sylvia Greenway for an afternoon walk in a nice setting. We enjoyed our visit. Note: older folks like us might find the stairs a little challenging.
Exceeded expectations and I honestly say *that's* never happened before! Probably the cleanest vrbo I've ever stayed in. Beautiful location, quiet and private. The one mile greenway across the river is a lovely and nicely shaded for a run. My dog stared at me everyday until I took him for a walk on the greenway.I've already reserved it again in the fall!
We had a fantastic stay at this cottage on the Tuckasegee River. Paddle boarding every day from the home was our biggest highlight. The river is special and it definitely put us at peace with incredible scenic experiences on the water. The cottage was conveniently close to town, yet felt secluded. It was also well-equipped with everything we needed to cook or grill meals. Overall, a perfect getaway—we would definitely stay here ag
We had a wonderful stay at this VRBO rental! The location was fantastic — right next to a river where I could wake up each morning and fish right off the bank. The house was a great size for our family and offered excellent value. I especially appreciated the comfortable pillows that helped me sleep really well, and the high-quality cookware made cooking meals a joy. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, making us feel completely safe and at ease. It was perfectly imperfect — just the right mix of comfort and charm. We’d definitely love to come back! Oh and the hammock stand was a great addition!
We were in Cullowhee to take our daughter to orientation at WCU, We always take our two dogs wherever we go, so a pet friendly location was necessary. Unfortunately, our older dog was recently diagnosed with cancer, so both were left behind with a pet/house sitter.
The cottage is located in a quiet, private area by the river, yet it is near all local restaurants. Our three evenings were spent dining at three different restaurants in Dillsboro - just 7 miles away.
Only two problems and they were minor: the front maple board that is one the eating utensil drawer needs to be glued back to the side boards of the drawer, and the linens on the bed upstairs where our daughter slept reeked on male perfume. She moved to the couch.
This was our first time using a rental home verse your typical hotel and let me tell you, we were initially pretty nervous about what we were going to walk into but it turned out to be beyond better then we expected!! I don’t think we will ever go back to hotels after this. The house was clean, tidy, spacious, and had everything you need and then some. The fact that we were able to bring our two large dogs to enjoy this family trip made it that much more special. There is a nice sized fenced in area on the property and plenty of non fenced in area for the dogs to run and play. The water access was such a treasure!!! The river was a large and flowing not just a small stream. We went mid October and the leaves were every shade of orange, red and yellow it was like we something out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. You have the best views from the porch!!! Worth every penny to stay here!!!
Very well supplied, great location, and extremely clean
This is a great vacation house. The owners have put in extra touches to make you comfortable, good selection of pots and pans, and there are plenty of beds to keep your kids happy that they don't have to share. Also as another reviewer stated, there are actually 2 bathrooms instead of 1.
We loved roasting marshmallows at the firepit and talking to the folks floating down the river. Also just down the road is the Locust Creek Access area which is a starting point for the Jackson County Greenway. It's an easy, dog-friendly, walking path along the opposite side of the river that you can see this house from.
Awesome location to visit your WCU student, easy trip to Waynesville, Cherokee, Bryson, Dillsboro. Walmart is 10 minutes away in Sylva. And you are on a nice private lot, no neighboring house 20 feet away that didn't show up in the pictures! The people floating down the river will be the closest people to you :-)
I will say there are alot of stairs and if anyone in your party finds that problematic, you may not want to stay here.
But I will also say that we have stayed at alot of vacation rentals and this is the cleanest place we have ever stayed. We got NO dirty feet or socks from walking around in the house. For me that is worth an extra star if I could give it!
Hope to return soon! Thank you Will and family, and Brandie the property manager.
The location is great and it is right on the river. The house could use some attention. The upstairs seemed to have not been cleaned as well as rest of the house. There was so much dust that we gave the upstairs to the teenager. There were also several dead bugs on the windows sills. The upstairs toilet also had such low water pressure that it took a while to be able to flush toilet after flushing. Downstairs bathroom was fine. The washing machine needs a good cleaning as well. The porch was amazing and we talked to people floating down the river. We were very close to town and loved that we could bring our friend's dog. The parking is ample and the drive to get to it is very easy. As you can see from the pictures the house is high in the air, so please realize you do have to climb many steps to get into the house. They do have child gates on both sets of steps for the safety of kids and dogs. There is also a fenced in area for the dogs.
Really enjoyed our stay.... a few minor issues but the grandkids Really enjoyed getting in their tubes in the river& fishing& s'more on the camp fire. I enjoyed little rabbits in the yard and the fireflies at dusk.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
We had only 1 towel each and they had stains on them. The shower upstairs had not been cleaned, nor had the toilet or floors. All of the outlet covers were falling off if we tried to plug anything in. The couch had a big stain on it and smelt like urine. Ceiling above dining table has water damage. Day two we smelt an odor. I was checking the closets to see where it was coming from and I opened what I believe may have been the owners closet and there was the smell..piles of wet bedding and towels. I'm not sure when the next check in is, but hopefully someone will actually clean this home. The "beach" it claims it has is just a bank where the dirt washed down. House needs some maintenance work done.Definitely wasn't worth 1000 for 3 nights.

Thank you for your feedback, we've spoken with the cleaning company and done an overhaul based on your findings! In the future, please share any feedback with your VRBO host when they ask how your stay is going, so they can help you out and make it right. No need to wait until you've already left and then leave a mean public review, we could have helped fix this while you were still there and also refunded your cleaning fee. If you needed fresh towels, we could have arranged that within minutes, if you had told us. Also, the couch is brand new and we just had the upholstery deep cleaned. We also don't understand the feedback on the outlets, as they are all perfectly normal electrical outlets. The river bank is a real river, which can change depth throughout the day, which changes the size of the sandy area. This is nature and cannot be controlled. We hope that you're able to allow yourself to enjoy future vacations and relax in nature as much as possible.
We rented the house for WCU orientation for our son. The house and location were absolutely perfect. All 3 of us enjoyed staying here and plan to return. The house was accurately represented online.
