In a unique position, in the highest point of the village of Montepulciano, which borders the Medici fortress dating back to 1261 and a step away from Piazza Grande is THE GARDEN OF FORTRESS, an apartment in Tuscan style with a stunning panoramic view across the valley di Chiana, from Trasimeno lake Cortona until the Marche Apennines. Housed on the ground floor of a villa built on the foundations of an old local house, the apartment has a lounge that opens onto a lovely private garden next to the public gardens of the Fortress, a fully equipped fitted kitchen, two elegant and comfortable double rooms each with its own bathroom.
The two bedrooms are decorated in unique style furnishings. A beamed ceilings wooden beams, overlooking the Val di Chiana and a private bathroom with shower. The other is an internal view of local gardens and an en suite with shower.
The lounge that opens onto the private garden is equipped with a comfortable sofa bed, a flat screen TV and a large dining table.
The garden is quite unique within the medieval walls, is provided with a comfortable dining area where you can enjoy a glass of local wine.
There is also a garage facility, unavailable and singular, with convenient access via electric gate.
The apartment has a flat screen TV with satellite, wi-fi dishwasher, fridge, hairdryer, kettle, toaster, electric oven and microwave.

The property and the property manager were incredible! Such a great location with update bathrooms that were perfect for 2 adult couples. Everything was so clean, communication was great and we loved the garden area to sit out and have coffee and wine.

Fabulous villa & location

We love this villa - great location , beautifully furnished , comfortable , very friendly & helpful hosts, & beautiful views from courtyard . We loved sitting in courtyard for morning coffee & evening limoncello . We hope to return & stay longer . Ty’s town of Montelpulciano made a great home base . On-site parking is big bonus .

Montepulciano at its finest

This property was everything and more than advertised, Great location, great layout, best views, private parking, very clean, very comfortable, nicely appointed. Be prepared to walk up and down hills. The hosts Raffaella & David could not have been more accommodating. We highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location

This property is next door to the fortress at the top of the hill in Montepulciano. We were able to drive to and from the apartment with ease. It's also easy to leave town and explore the area outside the city walls. The route avoids all ZTL restricted zones. This is perhaps the only off-street parking available in Montepulciano and in addition, the parking space is secured by an automatic gate. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the host was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

BEST accommodation in Montepulciano

Excellent communication before + during visit (Davide and Raffealla are fantastic). Beautiful space. Incredible to have parking spot. Wonderful bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. While not shown, great little kitchen. Great location but restaurants nearby are very touristy with not great food - recommend finding dining a little further away (avoid Osteria del Borgo + del Conte- really average/poor food- created for tourists I think- does not represent Italian cuisine very well. Nearby Monticchiello has great restaurant: Fra Paolina.). This is the best Arbnb we’ve ever had the pleasure to visit.

Perfect in every way

Davide and Raffaela were lovely hosts. The space had everything we needed: two rooms with firm mattresses, plenty of pillows and covers, a bathroom for each room, a parking space big enough for our car, and views for days. The home is on the highest point of Montepulciano, so you can’t beat the views, the quiet, and the sun. The town is easily walkable, but be ready for steep hills. The parking space was a little tight to get into, but we rented a jeep with four-wheel drive, so parking on a hill wasn’t that bad of an experience—just new—AND they have a plug for electric cars! You can hear the family upstairs, but they don’t make a lot of noise. The kids go to bed pretty early. We were very happy during our three days in Montepulciano. It was a perfect home base for exploring Tuscany. Would definitely try to stay here again if I come back. <3

Absolutely a wonderful stay. There is a say in the real estate business. Location, location, location meaning it is about as perfect spot as you can find. In the center of town, in less than an hour drive you can visit the best Tuscany has to offer. Our host was just wonderful and available for whatever we needed.

Our hosts Davide & Raffaella greeted us upon our arrival and helped us organize restaurant reservations for each day during our stay. An exceptionally clean and well-equipped unit very near restaurants and sights. We were most comfortable for two couples, and the views from our unit spectacular. Storybook Vacation

From start to finish this was an amazing vacation and our hosts were a big part of it. From a restaurant reservation assist the first day to great communication through the stay. The location is beautifully appointed and just steps from the heart of the city. The vistas nearby were a bonus for breathtaking pictures of the countryside. Perfect rental home in historic Tuscany!

Best possible location next to Fortezza (with wine tasting and beautiful patio), and near restaurants and wine cellars. Beautiful views from every window! Flowers blooming in garden with comfy lounge chairs. Ground floor apartment is in a 3 level private home, owners live above. Large light filled living room/dining room and 2 large bedrooms. Full stocked kitchen. New stylish and clean bathrooms (2) with showers. Linens and soaps provided. Private parking spot inside gated yard is a HUGE benefit in old historic hilltown! Owners are warm and welcoming, very responsive, gave us good recommendations and made reservations for us at local restaurants which were great, and they even gave us a nice bottle of local wine! We would absolutely stay here again! Best stay in Italy! Thank you Davide and Rafaella!

Amazing property with stunning views

Raffaella and Davide's property was perfect for our stay in Montepulciano. The apartment is the entire 1st floor of their house, with private entrance and gated parking space. The apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Walking around Montepulciano was easy from the apartment and the views at the top of the hill where the house is located was absolutely beautiful. Communication with Raffaella was very easy and she met with us at our arrival to show us the property and give recommendations on her favorite food spots. Overall, a great stay and we highly recommend this property!

Very nice place

The two bedroom apartment on the bottom floor was a very nice place and well appointed. The private garden and parking spot were also very nice. Good place would be perfect if it had air-conditioning. We were there in late June and it was 85 to 90°. It cooled off a bit at night but the one room is next to the road which is one of the few exits of the city walls. There was a decent amount of traffic and too noisy with the windows open. The place was perfect otherwise!

Beautiful and convenient - what a combination!

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Montepulciano. Raffaella and Davide were warm, hospitable, and flexible, and provided excellent recommendations for local activities and restaurants. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and ideally located just steps from the fortress and park (to the delight of our toddler) and from the piazza (to the delight of the adults). Easy car access and parking on site is a fabulous bonus and extremely convenient. We hope to be back to Montepulciano soon and would absolutely stay here again.

You'll LOVE Raphaella and Davide!

We had a wonderful week at Raphaella and Davide's...the apartment is in an ideal location in old town Montepulciano...and unlike most places in this Medieval fortress city, it has a private back yard, gazebo and porch! I loved having coffee out there in the mornings, listening to all the birds in the adjacent park. The apartment is very comfortable and clean...the hosts thoughtfully provided numerous conveniences and personal care products. This is very unusual for a HomeAway rental. And one of the apartment's best perks is its private, gated parking lot. I never saw another one in all of Montepulciano! We had a wonderful week there--took off most days to explore the beautiful countryside and other cities, but we were always happy to come "home" to our apartment in Montepulciano. We would love to go back!

First of all, David & Rafaella are amazing hosts! They greeted us upon arrival and set up all our dinner and lunch reservations which was so helpful. Each restaurant was wonderful and had it's own unique things we loved. The apartment is beautifully decorated, old world charm but modern touches and very clean! The location is excellent for walking to everything and right next to a beautiful park. We definitely will be back! Thank you again for an amazing time!
