Welcome to Oleander House, a one-of-a-kind Port Aransas ranch home built in 1957 and full of timeless charm. Once featured in the Garden Club's first home tour, this classic coastal gem has been thoughtfully remodeled to preserve its original craftsmanship while adding fresh, beachy updates that make it feel bright, welcoming, and truly special. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, Oleander House is the perfect home base for family vacations, friend getaways, and memory-making weekends on the island. The backyard is made for sunny days and slow afternoons, featuring a large private pool and a fenced-in yard so your furry companions can enjoy the vacation too. Whether you're floating under the Texas sun, grilling dinner after a beach day, or rinsing off in the outdoor shower, Oleander House is the kind of stay that feels relaxed, comfortable, and effortlessly coastal.
We do have the pool serviced twice a week on Monday and Friday and we do our best to keep sand out of the pool. Because we are right next to the dunes, inevitably you will probably see some sand at the bottom of the pool.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• A two-night minimum stay is required
• Check-in time is approximate; housekeeping and maintenance make all attempts to be ready by 4 PM but there is no guarantee
• Starter set includes two trash bags, dish soap, two dish-washing pods, one toilet paper roll per bathroom, one paper towel roll, and mini toiletry supplies
• Starter items are intended for one night only and we will not resupply the home
• Construction is always happening somewhere in Port Aransas; we can't guarantee you won't hear or see construction, building, or community improvement projects during your stay
• Cable/WIFI is provided as a convenience; Port A does experience outages from time to time
• No refunds are provided for outages of cable/WIFI or if the city pool is closed for cleaning, repair, or maintenance
• Please remember you are on an island; mosquitoes/pests can be plentiful several times per year
• Our properties are treated by a professional pest control service every month
• WiFi is not compatible with guests working remotely during their stay. We do not guarantee a good connection due to spotty internet on the island

Perfect vacation

House was clean and well located, close to all the restaurants and golf cart rental companies as well as beach. Pool was beautiful and the fenced yard was perfect for the dog. Decor was so nicely done, perfect beach house with everything you could need. Rental company was extremely helpful when I couldn’t figure out the lock code/door situation (today my fault).

Although the property is old and the pool looks larger than it is, me and my 7 friends found the house well kept and the pool very enjoyable. It is close to shopping and the beach. Whenever we return to Port Aransas, we will certainly try to get this property.

Oleander Stay

The house on line looked great, We discovered that looks can be deceiving. The back yard was Abutting to A yard that had weeds 7 yo 8 ft tsll, Mosquitoes everywhere. Cackaroaches were all over the Yard, we found a few in the shower, kitchen, living room it was just not like we thought and there was a Moldy Musk, smell im sure from moisture under the house.

Great house with plenty of room

We loved this rental, the pool was the best thing ever. The house was stocked with everything you'd need! If you're staying longer than a few days definitely bring extra supplies like they recommend. It was very clean, the pool and yard was well kept. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and everything was very comfortable. Wifi was a little slow but we used a hot spot to stream movies off our Roku stick. We'll be back next year!

Great house

The home was exactly as advertised with plenty of space for our family. The saltwater pool is small but it was enough for the grandkids to have a great time. The only draw back was the refrigerator. They have a sign on it that tells you it will take up to 2 days for your food to cool down. For the cost the least that could happen is the refrigerator be cold upon arrival. The gate going from the backyard to the drive doesn’t latch properly so if you bring a dog you’ll need to constantly supervise them while outside or they can get out if they bump the gate slightly. Those were the ONLY negatives.

Great family week!

We enjoyed our week at this house! It has everything we needed and the right amount of rooms and space. We liked the almost 1-story layout and the backyard area a lot. As much as I would recommend it, there are a couple of things that need attention. The cold water faucet doesn't turn on in the queen bed side, the left queen bedroom door doesn't shut, and both of the shower curtain liners need to be cleaned or replaced. They are so mildewy. I do have to say when the patio lights were broken when we arrived, (management already knew and didn't say anything until we notified them,) they were fixed by the pretty quickly after asking about them. The areas around the vents are in serious need of dusting or more. Lastly, one of the plugs in the tub bathroom doesn't work. Although these details need attention, we would definitely rent this house again. The proximity to the beach, stores, and restaurants were perfect. It's a little more expensive than we would like to pay because you can get these same perks at less expensive spots, but we weren't disappointed in the end. Please don't price yourself out of our league. Thanks for a great week!!!

Summer Stay

The property is nice, the bedroom are a good size, good enough for a family of nine. Pool was refreshing and clean, the bbq pit was dirty but we ended up buying one. The power went out for a couple of hours due to the weather and the power line. Property manger responds promptly with any questions or concerns I had. Travel time from the property to the beach is within 5-7 mins, not far at all. The property in general is a great place to stay minus the couple of roaches we spotted.

Not a "Mistake"

We usually travel once a year to Port A. This house was very nice, but we knew we were traveling a little early in the season and the weather was cold. BEFORE I rented the house, I contacted Port A Beach Company by email and asked if the pool was heated. They replied "Yes". I then sent a reply explaining why it was important. I don't believe they even read that email. They said there was a mistake, I say it was negligence. Either way, there was no compensation and they really didn't even want to talk to me. It was a cloudy, cool week, the water in the pool and at the beach was cold. I feel that I was lied to and will be very careful to not rent from them in the future.

Family Reunion

My father recently passed away and so we came to sprinkle his ashes in the ocean. This was a lovely home for us to be able to get together as family. It is one block off of the main street that goes through town so we were secluded and quiet yet everything was within one or two blocks of the house. It had a huge open Concept family area and plenty of outside access to the backyard. This gave us a wonderful flow for grilling and serving meals and individual gathering. The bathrooms were easily accessible and it has a beautiful covered porch that is fully shaded in the afternoon and the backyard is mostly shaded in the mornings. Tons of amenities were available to us for cooking in the kitchen As well as lots of storage for food so that we didn’t have clutter. The one thing I would ask for would be more towels. The house sleeps 12 yet maid service put three towels in each bathroom. Overall a wonderful experience and a spectacularly beautiful and updated home. We truly felt like someone’s guests.

We have been renting homes in Port A for 20 years. The house was lovely and comfortable. The pool and back deck was was wonderful.
