We loved the secluded location of this cabin. It’s great that it’s behind a gate and feels very private and remote. The cabinet itself is just perfect, It is cozy and yet spacious, the pool table was a lot of fun. It had everything we needed. We didn’t use it as a homebase for other activities in the gorge, so I can’t speak to its location for other adventures, we were just there to be secluded and relax in a hot tub under the stars. It was perfect.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We're happy that you enjoyed your time at the cabin. We hope to welcome you back another time!
Beautiful house and location! Wife loved the kitchen and island. Overall good but watch out for the driveway, it was very steep and washed out from the rain. Better to park down by the road . Also master bedroom bathroom smelled like sewage whole time ( had to buy some bleach to make the smell manageable).

Thank You for letting us know that you enjoyed you stay. We apologize for the unpleasant smell during your stay. We are doing everything we can to fix it so no one else has to experince that.
This home is perfect for a base to get out and about in Red River Gorge. We enjoyed the hot tub, beautiful views of the lake, fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds.
I stayed here with my cousin and two ten-year-olds for four nights. We loved having such easy access to the lake and enjoyed the kayaks. We also enjoyed using the firepit to make s'mores. It would have been great to have a lockbox or keypad to enter the home, rather than having to drive the ten miles to the rental office for the key. We would have also like to have had a few more towels to use; we had six towels for four people over a four night stay. Overall though, we loved the house and would definitely stay here again.
Spacious cabin with gorgeous views. We enjoyed the pond, hot tub and fire pit. The cabin was generally well appointed but did seem to be missing paddles for some of the boats and could use blinds or thicker curtains in the king bedroom. We also could have used a bit more storage space-there were lots of closets and cabinets but all closets and several cabinets were locked so we ended up just having to leave our stuff laying out in suitcases. We also would have liked to just get a text with the neighborhood code and a code for the door instead of needing to stop by the rental office before check in and at check out. Overall very nice property though and great for a relaxing stay. Very convenient to many different hiking areas.
Cabin was very well kept. It was clean and neat when we arrived. The lake is good for fishing. Only thing is it’s a little far from some of the major sites we enjoy. Other than that amazing cabin and a great price as well.

The location is nice. It was quiet and close to everything we had planned to do. The kitchen had just about any item needed, it was well stocked with dishes and cookware. The trees have really grown since it appears the pictures were taken so you have less of a view. My kids were excited that they had their own private bathrooms. The master bedroom has the Jack and Jill bathroom with the rest of the house. There are 2 driveways for the cabin and both can be tricky getting into we definitely had to use 4 wheel drive. We had a few issues but the host worked quickly to resolve.

Thank You for choosing to stay with us. We sorry you had issues but please it didn't interfere to poorly with your time. Come back and stay with us again.
This cabin is beautiful with tasteful decoration, plenty of space, and anything you may need for cooking in the kitchen. Our family loved our stay and have no negative comments about this location. We WILL be booking again and will hopefully bring family to stay in the surrounding cabins
Going to this property was a surprise for my fiance after I proposed. The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a quiet romantic getaway. She loved it and so did I!

Congratulations to you and your fiancée! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time at Forestdale and hope to see you again!
Overall the property was a great getaway. The area around the lake is relaxing. The dishwasher needs fixed, it appeared to be moldy and not cleaning the dishes. We enjoyed the pool table but it also seems like it's falling a part.

We're glad that your enjoyed your stay. We appreciate the feedback about the dishwasher and pool table. That has been passed on to our housekeeping and maintenance team. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again.
Overall this is a nice property that offered a pool table and spa for relaxing fun after exploring the area. The lake was smaller than expected and it was catch and release which was not communicated in the listing. You have to retrieve the keys at a coffee shop and return the keys to a coffee shop. The kitchen was well stocked. Housekeeping needs to be more on their game as 2 used band aides were found. One stuck to the pool table, and one stuck to the living room rug. They left the sweeper out? Maybe in case we needed it, but it was completely full of months of yuck. Fire pit area could definitely use some upgrades and attention.

Fish and RELEASE
We started our trip quite disappointed because we were planning for a multi-generation fishing trip where grandpa, son, and grandsons could bond through fishing. We read the listing and all of the reviews thoroughly and nothing said we couldn’t keep the fish. So when we saw the signs around the lake that we couldn’t keep the fish, it put a damper on our whole trip. We scavenged the area for fishing spots over several days and despite repeated attempts, the guys were unable to catch a single fish that was large enough to keep. We went to Mill Creek Lake and all through red river with no luck. Perhaps it was the wrong time of year. We were also surprised by the cleanliness of the home. The washing machine was gross with dog hair and mildew. I cleaned out some nasty stuff before we used it. The dryer vent also hadn’t been cleaned out after the last several uses based on the amount of junk in it. There were some cob webs throughout the cabin; which my mother-n-law could not help but point out. And the dishwasher never worked. It was only a few months old. They comped us a day for the cleanliness. It odd that ALL of the closets were locked, so we did not have sufficient space to hang our clothes or get our suitcases out of the way. The cabin was also very dark. The under cabinet lights didn’t work in the kitchen, making it hard to see at times. The Gorge is beautiful and we loved kayaking in the Gorge Underground and taking the Sky Lift to the Natural Bridge.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The lake within the resort is strictly catch-and-release. We will review our listing to ensure this is noted more prominently for future guests.
Regarding cleanliness, the items you mentioned, pet hair in the washing machine, debris in the dryer vent, and cobwebs, should not have been present. We addressed these concerns with our cleaning team and have taken steps to ensure they are double-checked going forward.
The dishwasher issue was an unexpected mechanical failure during your visit and has since been repaired. Closets that are locked are reserved for owner storage, which is standard in vacation rentals, and alternative storage such as dressers is available for guest use.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed exploring the Gorge, Underground Kayaking, and the Sky Lift to Natural Bridge. While we regret that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, we appreciate your feedback and have taken steps to address the concerns raised.
I stayed here with several friends this past weekend, and most aspects of the cabin were wonderful.
The great: the kitchen was spacious and well-stocked, and the bedrooms were perfect for our needs, with a private bathroom next to each. The location was peaceful, and we enjoyed using the hot tub and sitting out by the lake.
The room for improvements: the deck isn’t in the best shape, as it could use a fresh coat of paint and/or mildew removal—it’s slippery in spots. As others have noted, one driveway is extremely steep, so much so that we avoided using it (even with my 4WD Subaru). I also expected to be able to use the boats on the dock, as described in the listing, but we couldn’t find any paddles.
Finally, we had an experience that hopefully no other guests would share: the bedroom smoke detectors started blaring just before 2 a.m. on our second night, while everyone was sleeping. It took a little while to figure out how to silence them, and it disrupted an otherwise relaxing weekend.
We enjoyed our stay at Forestdale. The cabin was very clean and was as pictured on the site. It is located in a gated community, so the area was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed the lake view and walking around the lake. There were 6 adults in our group and their was plenty of room for all of us. Several of us enjoyed the hot tub after an all day hike. The only con's I can think of is there is no place to hang clothing in the bedrooms, only a couple of hooks. There is no closet space. We could have used another chair in the living room, but we managed with what was there. They ask that you bring your own bath towels if traveling by car, which was no big deal but have never been asked to do that at other properties. We would stay here again with no hesitation!
Our family had a wonderful time staying at your propert. We felt nestled away in trees with a beautiful lake view as we soaked in the hot tub after a strenuous hike. The kids loved kayaking and fishing in the lake and the adults enjoyed the beautiful deck and listening to the spring peepers and birds. Close and convenient to everything. We hiked auxier ridge, rock bridge loop and ate at Miguel’s pizza, all of which are close to the cabin.
We will definitely be back and I would recommend this home to others.
We were a group of 7 up for a weekend for a friend's birthday and loved the cabin. It's spacious enough for all of us and the location was great. We loved the hot tub, large kitchen, and the firepit. Two notes for future renters - you can't really tell from the pictures, but the bunk beds are full beds and can sleep two in each (we were originally worried they were regular twin size in case anyone else is)! And the listing does call it out, but the driveway is STEEP. There's one in the front that can fit one or two cars, and a slightly less steep drive in the back that levels out to fit more cars. They're both also gravel. Not a huge issue, but if you have a smaller car or don't have four wheel drive, it can be tough.
Overall would definitely stay here again!
The location was great with a wonderful view and access to the lake. Hot tub was perfect and indoor layout was wonderful for 4 adult ladies seeking quiet time and peace. Already planning to return.
The Forest Dale property was absolutely stellar in appearance. My now fiancée and I had a fantastic and restorative weekend! Yep, totally proposed to the love of my life here. It's that nice!
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The lake view and the recessed forest location make for an incredibly relaxing, quiet, and therapeutic getaway. The rooms are large with plenty of bathrooms if you have a group of people coming to stay.
The common area was very inviting and stocked with all of the bowls, plates, and utensils you could need. Wi-Fi services were consistent, the couches were comfortable, and the beds were exceptionally cozy.
The only negative feedback I could leave is that the gravel driveway has a steep incline. It could be tough to drive up, depending on your vehicle.
Other than that, I 10/10 would recommend coming here. An amazingly restful and rejuvenating location.
