Great cottage, beautiful view of the harbour. Easy walk to shops and restaurants in the centre of St. John’s. Would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to visiting again someday.
Was a great place to stay! Great harbour view and we’re able to walk to everything on our list for St. John’s! Had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals to save time and money.
There was an issue when we arrived and they fixed it in 30 seconds, great location and a beautiful property, very clean, updated and well stocked. Will definitely stay here again.
Very well-stocked kitchen; amazing view; great location close to downtown, trails and routes out-of-town. So interesting to watch the ships coming and going! We would HIGHLY recommend this property.
Perfect cottage for a family vacation with great views
Very nice property in a great location. Watching the ships roll in and out of the harbour was a novel experience. Close to downtown and Signal hill made it easy for us to get around without a car. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it was the perfect fit for the 7 of us!
A friendly, well equipped, spotlessly clean home with a gorgeous view of the St John’s harbour. The owner was responsive and very accommodating. There were 5 adults in our group and it accommodated us quite comfortably.Within walking distance of both Signal Hill (stiff climb) and downtown
This property is perfectly situated for exploring St. John's without a car. The trails to Signal Hill and other sights are nearby as well. We walked downtown everyday and hiked the trails one afternoon ending up in Quidi Vidi. The rental was clean and well supplied and the view from the deck was fantastic. I highly recommend this property if you decide to visit St. John's and NL.
Comfortable 2 story home with a great view of the working harbor. Easy walking access to downtown and Signal Hill. Parking is tight and you need to know how to parallel park a car. Recommended for long term stay.
We absolutely loved our cottage and would highly recommend staying there to anyone. The view over the harbour was spectacular - had fun with the app so we knew a little bit about the ships coming and going - had the great good fortune of seeing a large cruise ship come in and leave while we were there. The amenities were perfect - might suggest investing in new mattresses at some point - but overall - can't say enough - we loved every minute of our stay.
All the comforts of home, plus a harbor view.
Very clean with all necessary amenities.
A perfectly located sightseeing base.
No negative aspects to report.
(We'll be back).
This was a wonderful, perfect place for my in-laws, as well as my husband and I.
It was so enjoyable to watch the ships coming in and out of the harbour. Was close enough to go for a walk downtown and check out some neat shops and restaurants, and breweries!
The house was the perfect size, was very compact and had all we needed for the week we stayed. Would highly recommend. Definitely 5 stars from my family👍
The six of us enjoyed our visit to St. John’s and our accommodations were perfect. The view of the docks, watching cruise ships and the other ships was a unique experience. The home was spacious and the beds were comfy. The deck was enjoyed by all of us! Would highly recommend.
This property is located in the battery with amazing views of the inner harbour. The fully equipped kitchen was easy to work in. The effort put into the coordination of colours in all parts of the property is reflective of someone who cares deeply about this home. Check in/out was easy. Communication and responsiveness was second to none. Would stay here again!!
We found this property so interesting watching the live harbour in action. ( sometimes it got a little noisy, but that’s what made it special.
Its close proximity to everything we wanted to do and see was so convenient we could walk everywhere we went. The home was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The coffee shop was so close by. Would definitely recommend this property.
Great view and location, but in the art of a working port.
We had a great stay and the view is great, but be forewarned the location is just steps from a working port. There are lots of heavy vehicle noises during the day. At night it's quiet.
The neighbours can look into the suite from their deck, when they are using it, so there is little privacy in the kitchen area, and no window covering.
Excellent location to downtown, trails and signal hill. Park the car and walk home from George street and the night life Perfect set up on the harbour., the views are amazing. Spent down time on the deck just watching the life of St. John’s. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend
This was an excellent location with a great view of the harbour. Lots of easy walks to the downtown core and Signal Hill. It is also easy to take day trips to many beautiful areas from here. The upper floor worked well however the basement was a little damp but spacious. We loved the deck and windows however we were there during a hot spell and with no blinds, curtains or air it was difficult to keep it cool.
The 8 of us (4 couples)stayed for 4 wonderful days/nights.All was clean when we arrived and Helena arrived with extra towels within minutes of requesting them. We had fantastic weather ,a memorable view of the harbour, and the close proximity to downtown and George St. Signal Hill walk is a must ,starting just outside our door.Wonderfully fresh home made desserts are at the Battery Café . Well equipped kitchen to fry our freshly caught codfish. It was a shame we had to leave
Lovely location. View is spectacular. Lots of hiking and great food. Don’t miss the coffee and scones at Battery Cafe. If you have not visited this province, start packing. Friendliest people in the world.

So if you want to visit home, take that dream trip, explore an amazing place, Battery Bluff Cottage is for you.
Why they chose this property
Outport living in the City. Views, walking trails, historic sites, unique city life and a beautiful home....what more could you wish for?
What makes this property unique
St. John's, our province's capital, is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and small-town charm. As the oldest and most easterly city in North America, this is where heritage lives. Melded with culture, history, and personality, St. John's has survived two World Wars, five centuries, countless hardships and triumphs. It's become a rare, old city full of character, experience and charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge.
Wander down the narrow, criss-crossing streets carved by horse and carriage over 100 years ago. Pass the colourful jellybean row houses wedged together in every space lining the sides of steep hills and hidden alleyways. Once you've meandered down to the working harbour of the waterfront, look towards the Narrows and imagine a time when the waters were brimming full with fishing schooners.
Visit Quidi Vidi, our charming village-within-a-city, which still embodies the spirit of an old fishing outport. Then, hike up nearby Signal Hill through the famous Battery, where tiny wooden homes still cling valiantly to cliffsides ravaged by ocean waves. The unmistakable, iconic Cabot Tower guards the top of Signal Hill, where military men guarded our shores throughout the 1700s and 1800s. Here, Marconi famously received his first transmission across the Atlantic in 1901. Look out over the cliffs and watch the city's harbour and captivating skyline spread out before you. Perched on the top of the horizon is The Rooms, home to our provincial museum, art gallery and archives, standing next to the striking twin clock towers of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
As you explore the history of this place, shop at the many fine boutiques, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and art galleries lining our streets. In the evening, sit back, relax, and enjoy live music or local theatre where actors will whisk you away to another place and time.
