Fireside cabin exceeded our expectations. Met with friendly staff at the office for check-in. The cabin is pet-friendly which was a plus! The property was lovely and clean - really cool rock structure behind it, creek down below. It had some really nice features: large soaking tub, charcoal grill and grilling supplies. Mattress was comfy and all linens were clean. Highly recommend booking Fireside cabin for your next visit to Rogers or Slade, KY!
It was beautiful in the woods! The cabin was great- huge jacuzzi tub and shower, lots of hot water, great kitchen and very comfortable bed! Nearby hiking was easy to find and figure out!
This was a great sized place for me and my boyfriend. Check-in was super easy. We brought my shin-tzu along and it was the perfect place. Neighbors are just close enough to hear them but weren’t a problem at all. We loved the seclusion and the fire pit!
Beautiful cabin very secluded loved it! When we arrived to the cabin it was not clean, looked as if someone just got out of bed and left, dirty dishes left in sink, after i cleaned and sanitized the place it was cozy. I did mention to the front office it wasn't clean.

By far this is one of the cleanest cabin from other national rental properties we have stayed in! There were a few extra things that were pleasant such as the screened in porch and the big shower. Unfortunately, that is about all the nice we can say for this cabin. We tried using hot tub but a bearing or something was going out, it made a horrible loud noise and it blew dirth all in the water. No where did it say in info we would need to pack water in or that the drive way leading up to the door was unusable. Staying for a day and bring water in is no big deal. But an extended stay packing up several gallons of drinking water up those stairs was absolutely NO fun. Most of the towels were thread bearing and very custy/hard. There were several wine glasses but only 1 drinking glass. No lid to cover trash cans outside so trash had to sray in with us until we left to go to town. We love the remote location but little was indicated in info, until arrival, just how remote the road was to get to the cabin! We paid $150+ per night and the accommodations were far LESS than that value. Many things about the info on the website are simply not accurate or forth coming!
Process was easy. Great remote location. Cozy cabin for just the two of us. Housekeeping could have been better. Pet hair was through out the cabin from previous renters.
Great spot. You don’t need a four wheel drive but it helps. Do not come here with a sports car or any trailer that you can’t turn around by hand. I’d also highly recommend getting to the cabin during daylight if at all possible. It was a little tricky to find and I would not have wanted to do it in the dark. Only negative was the jet tub was kinda dirty and the jets suck. Other than that it’s a great spot and I’d go back again. I absolutely loved the peace and quiet. Super cool rock wall right behind cabin.
We had a great stay in this very nice, well appointed and as-described cabin. It was very clean. We loved the campfire, screened porch, large tub and shower. The drive on the one-way gravel road is legit hard-core, and as others have said, we were grateful to have borrowed a friend’s 4-wheel drive for the mile-long gravel road hike off the main road to the cabin.
The rental company was very helpful and we’d love to rent from them again. However, we plan to look for a cabin that we can drive to with one of cars next time.
Only thing I would have done differently was bring an SUV for the hills you have to go thru to get to the actual cabin. Theres no address for the cabin but once you get there you can pin it on your phones gps. Very easy to get to. A light shining the driveway down by the creek would be nice too just to stare out from the porch at night. Cabin has everything you could need. Theres not a whole lot of breakfast ideas around and some places around have strange hours so be sure to double check places before you head on out. This is definitely a place worth visiting
Overall it’s a great little cabin for a couple. Good amount of dishes, plenty of towels, washer and dryer, overall pretty clean and well kept! Everything worked great. Will stay there again!
My expectations overall were met and then some. Property was absolutely beautiful and the cottage was exactly as advertised. Only thing I would tell you is that getting to the cabin, you would be wise to have four wheel drive. We didn't, made it safely, but will strongly consider that when/if we decide to make a return trip.
This cabin was so perfect for a weekend getaway! Private but an easy drive to hiking and restaurants. Definitely recommend having an AWD vehicle as the last mile of the drive is pretty hilly.
We found the property online, booking was quick and easy. Found the rental office easily, and the staff were nice, professional, fun people. They gave us a run down on the rules, and showed us the directions on a map and away we went! Arrived easily, unloaded the vehicles, and had a great stay! If you go, make sure to eat at Red Point Barbecue!!! Food is amazing and great selection of drinks as well…..
The cleanliness of the property was a little low, because we found towels in the dryer, that we re dried and folded, there were some missed areas such as the stove top, still had crumbs on it. Easily overlooked in the grand scheme of a great property and location to wind down. We highly recommend this cabin, and cabin rental company. We will definitely be back to The Fireside Cabin.
We were originally supposed to stay at a different cabin, but a snow storm came through the day before, and the original cabin that I booked was not accessible. They put us in a different cabin, and it was great! We enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub and watching the snow melting off the trees. Everything was a short drive away, but we felt secluded. We would definitely stay again!
My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay in this cabin. It exceeded our expectations, was quiet, we’ll equipped, clean and tucked back in a very pretty area of Kentucky. We would stay again!
The cabin is very cute and with a little basic maintenance could be fabulous. Water needs treated, not good to shower in. We used bottled water, for everything else. Hot tub was very nice. Cute little water fall behind cabin. Bed is nice, very soft mattress some may prefer firmer. Minor item sink in bedroom was clogged, we used the first floor one with no issues.
Fireside is a romantic remote cabin and exactly the get away we needed. We rented a pick up truck for the trip after reading other reviews and I’m glad we did for the drive. The cabin is perfect, the bed is comfortable, the fire area is amazing. We will be back!
My husband and I stayed at Fireside Cabin for our 1 year anniversary. We love rustic, secluded properties that have great scenery and fairly easy access to activities and this cabin did not disappoint. The pictures do not do it justice, especially the beauty in the back by the fire pit! Management was so warm and welcoming and promptly addressed any questions or concerns we had. We definitely recommend a 4-wheel drive car to get to the property as there are several steep and windy gravel roads. Overall wonderful experience, thank you!
A vaulted log cabin nestled against a spectacular rock overhang. Situated under the rock overhang is a campfire pit that illuminates the inside of the cabin at night. It allows 1 small pet under 25 pounds. PLEASE NOTE THAT CHECK-IN IS AT OUR OFFICE.
