About Victoria S. Allison
My grandfather purchased this house in 1936 before I was born. I vacationed here with my family in the 1950's, and with my children in the 1990's. Now, our grandchildren enjoy Cape May!! As you can imagine, this house has an amazing legacy ... there have been a ton of family celebrations here and lots of memories created by us and all of our repeat renters. We maintain it very well, and love to share it with others.

Why Victoria S. Allison chose Cape May
Wonderful location, directly across from the ocean, gorgeous views, close to the center of things, but not commercially congested. Wide covered porches are like extra living space ... just great for hanging out. Primarily residential block of privately owned vacation homes (not investment rental properties) managed with loving care; you are right next to the beach entrance; can walk to the mall in ten minutes; the arcade, ice cream, shops, convention hall, & mini golf are just one block away, several 4 star restaurants are within walking distance. On-site parking for 4-5 cars.
What makes this House unique
Legacy home with architectural details from another era, heavy moldings, door details, and plaster walls for soundproofing!

Perfect Cape May home
We thoroughly enjoyed Griscom house. All of us enjoyed very comfortable beds, lots of space to stretch out, and a very well stocked kitchen. Most enjoyable were the porches overlooking the water! We look forward to coming again!
These ladies were a pleasure to host. Left the house very neat and tidy. So glad they had a great time and hope they do come back!
September get away with family.
12 brothers sisters and spouses immensely enjoy this fabulous location and welcome home. as I read the reviews previously our favorite room was probably the second floor balcony with so much space chairs tables together we had a wonderful time talking reminiscing and getting caught up. we sold very blessed we are able to share this long weekend with each other. Thank you!
PS the historic pictures and artifacts were not lost on any of us so much to enjoy in this beautiful home.
What lovely thoughts, Anne. Thank you. That is exactly how I feel and want others to also ... to appreciate the wonderful legacy and create rich memories! Those porches are the best. So happy you did just that. Thank you for sharing our house!
Excellent place for young families
The location is perfect, more than enough space for our four families. Our favorite place was out on the front porch.
Excellent Cape May rental
This place has it all. Two massive decks, a back garden, 8 good sized bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The kitchen and dining room were fabulous and we
Loved the good sized sitting room. The town was fairly near and the sea literally down the path!!!
Hi Liz, Thanks for being such great guests. So pleased that you loved the house and the proximity to EVERYTHING!!
Historic beach home ideal for big families
We stayed here for a family reunion and had plenty of space to spread out! Many beds, many rooms, plenty of bathrooms. Perfect location, with gorgeous views of the beach and walking distance to town and shops. Very quiet and peaceful and family friendly. We loved spending time on the porches playing games.
If you are seeking a super modern home environment, especially decor-wise, this is not it. This is an old beauty who shows some wear and tear and could use a little spruce up and fresh paint. It wasn’t the cleanest or the tidiest, but again it’s an old Victorian home on the beach. It suited us. We appreciated some of the old photos and news clippings displayed in the home from years past.
Owner was very responsive/communicative over email. We rented all our linens through a local service, but noticed there were many things there we could have used and laundered ourselves. My recommendation would be to ask about that option.
Overall we enjoyed the location, view, and found we could appreciate the home’s character, quirks and charms.
