Town: Sedbergh - pronounced Sed-Ber – is an ancient market town situated in northern Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself boasts narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and a famous school, dating back to 1536. There is also an atmospheric 12th Century church. Dentdale is located amongst rolling hills and stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the heart of the dale is the town of Dent, which has existed since Norman times and is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, horse riding and fishing. With such incredible scenery and so many fascinating trails, the area is a great place for walkers and cyclists. This, together with the surrounding valleys and two National Parks, makes Sedburgh a fantastic spot for a holiday outdoors.

We had a really lovely stay at Riddings Barn. The property was really well suited to our group in terms of space, bedrooms and bathrooms and we loved the location, particularly being able to do some lovely walks straight from the property. The village of Sedburgh was so cute with some great cafes and pubs/restaurants. We would definitely like to come back for another stay - it was perfect!

Wonderful house in farmland
This property has it all. Beautifully appointed, clean, fully equipped, breathtaking scenery. Our family enjoyed every moment there. The only thing that we weren’t prepared for was traveling the narrow roads to and from the house.
Thank you to the owners for having such a friendly house to share. Thank you…
We come here to get away from the recent pandemic. We found that the rooms were big and beds were very comfortable. The overall cleanliness of the place was done to a high standard and the location was away from everything, which gave us some great chill time to relax and unwind overlooking the pleasant views.
Owners were lovely, they let our little daughter go and visit the calves and cows. They were there to help if we needed it and were always a text or call away, nothing was too much for them.
We will be coming back here again as we loved it so much. Thanks very much! This would get an overall 10 star from all of us!
