Lovely house with plenty of room and peace and quiet. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds we used were all comfortable. We didn’t have any luck catching any fish from the river (we brought our own equipment, the rods in the barn were all missing bits) but we did see fish and the resident heron was after them. The listing about an arcade/games room wasn’t accurate, the room was a smaller lounge (which we all preferred) with a TV and a decent selection of board games. The games got some use.I’d recommend bringing a Firestick or other streaming device as there’s no terrestrial TV signal, or DVD player.I understand the point about it being a family home, a minor recommendation would be to reduce the number of framed family photos, we didn’t want to move them in case any got broken (they’d only take the owner few minutes to put out again when they are there). One point on safety is the hot water was extremely hot so beware that with young children or older people.Location wise is good as close to M6 and big shops in Kendal. We would stay here again.
