I loved my stay! It was Clean and designed very tastefully for the desert country area. I loved the fresh eggs! Despite my extremely late arrival and dealing with the livestock gate at 1pm, I got used to shutting the gate and enjoying the ruralness of the area. I loved sitting on the front porch watching the little quail and wildlife. My host Joan was wonderful! Thank you! I hope to go back!!

This is the key coded front door that doesn't present itself until you drive around the main house on the right side.

It had rained recently and the desert was showing its green.

The owl let me take its photo. So majestic with its huge wing span of 6ft.

A lovely town to visit

Starting with the good things - the apartment is set above the harbour in an attractive small town - all shops and facilities are within easy walking distance and there is a good view from the front window. We were given a car parking sticker and were able to park next to the apartment. The apartment itself was a bit bleak and unwelcoming. Several lights had lost their shades so we gazed at naked bulbs and a couple of lights over the sofa would have let us read more easily. The advertised internet never worked - my laptop could see the router but never got any further. Luckily my UK mobile data was just enough to see us through, listening to BBC R4 in the week that Queen Elizabeth died. Hot water was a bit variable and at 11.00 pm one night, all electricity died. The following morning I found that the circuit for the refrigerator was shorting out. Our local contact, Natalie, found a neighbour to investigate. The solution was to run a long extension cable but at least the fridge was working again. Unfortunately, when the fuse board tripped, the water heating stopped. The next day, I was able to get a message from the owner explaining how to reset the fuse board after which we had hot water again. Fancy a shower? I hope your wife/partner/companion likes watching you washing as the shower is right there in the bedroom! The bed was comfortable although we had to bring our own bed linen. Otherwise the apartment was well equipped except for cooking pots: one giant casserole (fine), one enormous pan (OK) and one tiny pan (good for boiled eggs). The two-burner induction hob was too small to take the two big pots together so a medium size saucepan would have been very useful. There was not much evidence of the apartment having been cleaned properly (sticky breakfast bar anyone?) and we left it cleaner than when we arrived. We loved Le Conquet but …

Sehr, sehr dreckig alles und übel riechend, übelriechender Abfluss und übelriechende Putzausstattung, klebrig und fettig verstaubte, verspritzte Oberflächen (auch Wände) im ganzen Wohnraum, Küchenausstattung schmutzig und mit Fettstaub überzogen - wir vermuten, dass keine Endreinigungen stattgefunden haben. Verständigung sehr schwer mit Gastgeber, da keine Englischkenntnisse vorhanden; Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft daher nicht weiter.

Je suis très surpris par les affirmations de Gunter Löchle sur l'état de propreté du logement. Le logement a été préparé par une professionnelle systématiquement engagée pour livrer propre l'appartement aux voyageurs avant leur arrivée. Les avis sont très positifs notamment sur la propreté du logement par les occupants avant et après le passage Gunter Lôche. Très surpris, car j'ai rencontré personnellement Gunter et sa femme pendant le séjour dans l'appartement, et ils ne m'ont rien signalé de négatif; au contraire et pour être concret, à la question: "It's good for you ? " ils m'ont répondu "Yes". A mentionner que Gunter Loche, ne m'a pas appeler au téléphone avant de prendre possession de sa location, comme convenu dans les modalités d'installations qui lui ont été transmis en temps et en heure. Il a sollicité (et peut-être dérangé) les voyageurs voisins qui m'ont appelé pour servir d'intermédiaire: Gunter n'a pas fait lui même l'effort pour communiquer; finalement je ne recommande pas ces voyageurs qui communiquent mal et qui laisse la porte ouverte à des malentendus négatifs pour la bonne expression et la bonne entente. Dommage. PS/ Depuis 10ans de l'activité, c'est la première fois que j'ai à répondre à un avis de ce type, émis par les voyageurs. Gérard HERVET
