Wonderful stay at this property, excellent communication with owner and check with Tony was seamless. The views and location of this place is absolutely amazing....sunrise everyday and unobstructed sea views. Loads of space, comfortable beds. Warm and cozy. A wonderful welcome pack of food and drinks. Kitchen could benefit from more utensils, pots and pans but thats a mimor point. Would definately recommend and stay again.
Best place I've stayed in the UK, with an unobstructed view of the sea and only a stone's throw from Dawlish. Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing hols
We were a party of 10 all ages, we loved the house and the views were spectacular the house suited our needs and everything was there and well thought out. We had a wonderful stay with lots of memories missing it already.
Fantastic holiday, indoor spa pool was great with the kids. Views are 2nd to none, sat quietly in the evening listening to the water is relaxing. Location is central to all around and the train takes you everywhere you wouod eant to go. Only 5mins walk away. Highly recomended.
Had a great week!
Welcome pack on arrival after long journey was amazing, the house was perfect ,views are stunning, we all loved the swim spa. Tony was a great host? Was there for arrival and departure.
Would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic property to stay in with stunning sea views.
This property is just perfect for a break in Dawlish.
The property was very clean, nicely decorated and very well equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable stay, a real home from home!
Spy room and gym was a great bonus and the cosy children zone was a big hit !
Hosts Tony and Cheryl were most welcoming and helpful.
There was absolutely nothing to fault. We had a wonderful time and we hope to visit again in the future.

Beautiful place right on the sea
We loved staying here. The view is beautiful and the house is in great condition. Spacious and well equiped. Gym and spa are a real bonus. Friendly and helpful owners. Only addition wouod be curtains for the two kids rooms, considered essential by most parents! Brilliant week and we hope to return. Thanks

Hello Katie,
All room have now been fitted with curtains/blinds.
Kind regards,

Fabulous property in a perfect location. Communication with Tony, was excellent from start to finish.
The property was everything we needed for the week, even if the weather maybe was not.
A fabulous space even with 3 teenagers. But the piece de resistance has to be the view! We could have sat on that deck all day every day and never moved! It was mesmorising.
I know we'll be back again in the future x

Excellent house for a large family group of different age groups
House is well equipped and maintained. There is lots of light coming in which you want at the sea. The early morning and evening views over the sea were beautiful, even when cloudy. We were 10 people. There was enough space to accommodate everyone with different activities so that the house never felt crowded. The spa is a winner and the gym and pods were well used by all.
The property is in a marvellous position with direct views over the sea. Ten minute walk into Dawlish, 30 to Dawlish Warren. The children loved playing in the pods . We all loved the spa pool. The kitchen sink is small , as is the dishwasher. The cutlery drawer was broken so the cutlery lived on the microwave. Minor points that did not take away from the enjoyment of staying at Tudor Lodge.
The views from the property are just amazing and waking up each morning to it was a highlight for me. There were 6 adults and 4 children in our party and having the pool/spa was great. In hindsight, after meeting the owner on checkout, we should have contacted him about how to work the swim jets as there were no instructions and suggested that they could be in the information pack. Tony was responsive to questions about other things so wished we'd asked. The mattresses on 2 of the double beds need an upgrade as a bit uncomfortable, again we talked this through with Tony on checkout and he was very responsive. The hot tub outside is a tub you fill with hot water not the heated kind you would assume so we didn't use this during our stay. The aircon worked well at keeping the top floor attic room cooler. Only reason for a 4 on cleanliness was the dishwasher which didn't clean well so we ended up doing the washing up by hand. The rest of the house was very clean. Could do with some mats for the dining table. Dawlish itself is a short walk down the hill with boat trips and local shops. We went to Pennywell Farm which was great for the kids. We also visited the House of Marbles, Trago Mills both about 40 minutes away. Dawlish Warren Beach was a lovely day out as was a trip to Exmouth to the Ocean soft play, which you need to book online. We saw the steam train from the garden. Lovely welcome pack of a Devon cream tea. Overall a great place to stay.
Tudor Cottage definitely trades on its location. As sea views go, it would be difficult to match.
However, I have holidayed in coastal properties that are better appointed, better equipped and have a significantly larger interior space for a lot less money.
The lack of some basics, such as a barbecue and comfortable outdoor seating, we’re a bit disappointing, given the price. We also had an issue with the chemical balance in the pool.
However, this didn’t stop us having a good time and the house is ideally situated to explore the surrounding area - especially by train.

Thank you for your online review in addition to the review you sent us directly. As you previously discussed, the other properties you previously stayed in did not have the costal views we offer. We have direct views of the coastline stretching from Dawlish Warren to Coryton Cove. These views, at the rates we offer, means that 60% of our guests return annually.
Unfortunately, as we are near the coast the salt does rust our outdoor furniture, however, we have now installed extra seating within our garden for future guests.
Kind regards,
The Tudor Lodge Team.

Beautiful Sea Views
Lovely sea views and short walk into Dawlish. Problems parking especially on a Saturday, which made off loading and loading up a challenge. The attic room only suitable for children, lots of toys which was a nice touch. Some cushions on the sofas (as shown in the pictures) would have been nice and the bbq isn’t usable. There was a bin bag of rubbish in one of the children’s pods which I put in the dustbin, luckily I saw it before our 3 year old granddaughter! They must have been lovely when they were first kitted out. Mattresses seemed very old but I think they may have replaced them now which is good. With a few extra touches that are shown in the pictures online this would be a lovely place to stay.

Thank you for your review.
We do have lots of parking outside the property, however, in the school holidays it is busy as it is a popular destination for families. The top room is designed for children in mind as a place to play. We do provide disposable BBQ for our guests.

Our stay at Tudor Lodge
Overall we enjoyed our stay but there was a few things that took the edge off a perfect break. The shower in the en-suite bedroom leaked through the kitchen ceiling so we couldn’t use it which meant that nine of us had to use the one other shower! The French door/window in the lounge was difficult to open & close and the rain came in at the bottom right side and the carpet got wet and we couldn’t open the bi fold doors in the dining area. The cutlery wasn’t very clean so we had to wash it all before we used it. The hot tub was a great size and the children loved it but even though we spoke to the owner we couldn’t get all the jets working and we found some bits of broken goggles on the bottom. I felt that it just needed some TLC.

Perfect Weekend Getaway in a 5 Star Home & Spa!
I’ve just returned from a wonderful relaxing weekend break at Tudor Lodge in Dawlish. The property is truly outstanding and caters for every need no matter what the British weather is doing! On a wet Saturday afternoon how many properties give you the chance to bubble away in an amazing hot tub spa (with sound system) or burn off some calories in the gym while it’s raining outside?! Sunday morning in contrast was a beautiful day and to sit out on the veranda eating breakfast with the amazing views across Dawlish was stunning.
The house is done to a very high standard throughout with all rooms having incredible sea views. Everything you would expect or need is there….dishwasher, washer, coffee machine, Sky, TV’s in the bedroom etc. Although we didn’t have children there are lots of extra touches for those with young ones (toys, books, games, dvd’s through to the outside play houses).
As we arrived on the train, the house is perfectly located & only a 5 minute walk from the Station & town centre. It was also a great location to then visit local towns in & around Devon on the train (Torquay, Paignton etc).
Thanks Cheryl / Tony for a great stay…the property lived up to the photos on the website. I would love to return again in the future…hopefully to some Devon sunshine & enjoy the outside BBQ!

Beautiful views ..... Outstanding property
Tudor Lodge was home to our family of four generations during the Whitsun week half term and what a wonderful week it was. From the moment we received a very warm welcome from Tony we knew we were in for a fantastic holiday. The vista's that the property offers are amazing and sitting on the terrace watching the sun rise is something I will always remember with a smile.
The 'Welcome Pack' was a lovely touch and the equipment available was more than enough to satisfy all the family from our 2 year old right up to our 85 year old. The spa pool was amazing, utilised at least once a day and according to our two 4 year old grandson's " the best thing of the holiday " so much so that they both swam without their arm bands for the first time. The BBQ was again a very welcome addition, as we were very lucky with the weather during our stay. The fact that the train line runs at the back of the property was another plus for our family especially as one of our four year olds is a self confessed ' Train Fanatic ' and reported every evening that he had seen 159 trains that day !
Tudor Lodge is also centrally located to the best of the ' English Riviera's ' best attractions : Torquay, Paignton Zoo, Living Coast, Pennywell Farm ( the children's favourite) and a coastal train ride to name but a few.
All in all a holiday we will always treasure and a holiday home we highly recommend.
Thank you Cheryl, Tony and all the team for an outstanding memory, we hope to be back again soon.

Dear Bernadette and Michele,
Thank you so much for your fantastic review of our property Tudor Lodge.
We are always so pleased when we hear what a lovely holiday people have had, especially as your two grandson's had such a lovely time.
We hope to see you all back again soon, please remember all return guests will receive a discount on their repeat bookings
Kind regards,
Cheryl, Tony & the team
Firstly the property itself is Lovely and the out door space is great you cant fault the views. the house has every thing practical you will need for your stay however it was missing just a few small things that would make it even better and give the stay more of wow factor and that is simply out door lights with such beautiful views for me it was missing evening lights it was very dark at night apart from a dim lit red and green light over the garden tub. it was missing Solar lights over the gazebo and even the garden edging would benefit from solar lights that would make it so pretty as it is a lovely view and we would of loved to of sat outside in the evening with a glass of wine but it was pitch black we could not find any other lights than over the tub that worked. few more negative is the mattress in the attic on the double bed was so uncomfortable its thin and the slats was broken under the bed so the sofa bed in lounge had to be used to sleep on also the other beds i was told by my friends was not comfy so new mattress on all beds would be lovely then sleeping would be a nice experience. The bi fold doors can not be used as once opened they come off track and can not be closed we was advised by the owner that he does have new ones so hopefully be fitted soon but we was advised to just kick them shut which we did but could not lock them so we had to go sleep every night with the door un locked. owners was great lovely.

Thank you for your review. We welcome comments as it helps us understand our guests needs.
The bifold doors were broken by the party the week before who left them on a windy day and went off into town costing us nearly £3000. A new set of doors are being installed very shortly. Unfortunately, due to the salt levels with properties by the sea this is the third set in nine years we have needed to replace. We appreciate advice on the lights it’s a good idea. Thanks again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Disappointing
I can’t express enough how thoroughly disappointed my family and I were at the standards and quality of Tudor Lodge. I’d read all the reviews. I wanted something that ticked all the boxes for my family, especially as there is a big gap in their ages and this was our first family holiday since 2019.
A seaview, gym, hot tub, spa pool, BBQ, lovely rooms, what’s not to like ?! It was very expensive but it was going to be worth it.
1) The kitchen was dirty. The floor, oven, bin ( broken ) have not been cleaned in a very long time. There were rotting onions ( virtually at liquid brown state ) in the main food storage cupboard. These had the supermarket date of April on them ( it was now end of July ).
2) The paintwork around the entire house needs refreshing. There are large cracks, peeling paint, holes in the walls in the dining room and living room. Large water marks above the living room patio doors. Drink spillages on many walls so they look grubby. The kitchen patio door is difficult to open and close due to the rubber seal coming off. There’s a plaster on the bedroom dimmer switch.
3) The gym wasn’t useable as much of the equipment was broken, dirty and not maintained. This was particularly annoying as I wanted my 18 year old son and my other half to be able to use this as they are keen gym fellas.
4) The hot tub is actually a tub with a hose. It takes about an hour to fill and will lose heat quickly.
5) The BBQ is bricks and a wire rack to hold a disposable bbq tray. This house can accommodate 10 people so you would spend ages trying to cook that way.
6) The grass and weeds haven’t been cut.
7) The metal railings around the garden are rusted and peeling. Of course having the sea and sun on them, this will happen. But it looks terrible.
9) Lots of junk dumped behind the 2 huts and clearly visible.
Of all these points, the only one I contacted Tony about was the gym. And he thanked me for bringing this to his attention as he hadn’t noticed the condition of the equipment and he would fix it when he was next there. Which would be after we’d left.
This holiday house was not value for money. It needs cleaning properly after every stay and things fixing to a higher standard. I know that we left that house much cleaner and tidier than when we found it.
I haven’t asked for a refund. The damage is done to our holiday. The photo’s on this site are from a long time ago and the house no longer looks as good as that. We won’t be back.

Hello and thank you for leaving your review.
We are very surprised you have left such a hash review based on your discussions with Tony. Not once did you express any displeasure of your stay with us. We feel this is a very disproportionate review with no positive highlights of the house or Dawlish. Several of your points, the disposable bbq’s and self fill hot tub are mentioned in our advert so would not have been a surprise.
We have many good reviews and a constant stream of guests who rebook year after year. Every year we complete a complete spring clean and maintenance work to keep our property in good order. We are a family business and take pride in greeting our guests and taking care of any issues, should they arise. We clean the property thoroughly after every guests leave.
Tudor Lodge is a very popular holiday let and guests are already booked in for the summer next year, some having stayed this summer. We offer uninterrupted views across the beach in a beautiful relaxed setting. There are so many highlights to us and Dawlish. I am sorry that you did not see that.
Spent a wonderful week at Tudor Lodge in Dawlish.
The house is less than a 10 minute walk from the station with lots of local shops and coffee shops on the main high street.
Words can’t describe the views from the house…just incredible and breathtaking and by far one of the best parts of the house.
The house is warm and cosy ..particularly in a chilly December and includes all the facilities you need for a break away. (Dishwasher, washer, cooker etc).
Will look forward to coming back again next year!
Fully equipped, perfectly located property within easy walking distance to the pretty town of Dawlish.
Had much more to offer than we imagined! The heated indoor pool/spa was a bonus! Wasn't expecting anything of its size! Everyone able to get in with room to spare!
Comfy well presented bedrooms with plenty of storage. Full kitchen facilities. Large dining table so we could all sit and eat at the same time. Well presented lounge with flat screen TV with Sky. WiFi code as soon as you enter the door. Amazing ocean views from patio and bifold doors on to a decked area along with outdoor dining area if warm enough.
Property was spotlessly clean on arrival. Couldn't fault anything.
Our hosts, Cheryl and Tony should be proud of this property. Its wonderful!!!! Thank you!
Looking forward to returning again soon
Loved staying here, Tony /Cheryl were most welcoming & As we travelled over 300 miles Tony allowed us access when we arrived earlier than Scheduled.
Location is Excellent , Large Hot Tub is a must . Easy walk into dawlish . Good location to visit areas by train if not wanting to drive . We are already considering booking for next year.
