City noise is possible …..Need a little extra relaxation? Ask Alexa for calming sleep sounds to make your nights even more restful.

✧ Courtesy: Because this is a second-floor apartment with another rental below, we ask that you’re mindful of noise. Patio hours end at 10 PM (weekdays) and 11 PM (weekends) since the bedroom below is right next to that space.

✧ Occupancy: Maximum is 2 guests at all times. This includes any visitors, even if they’re not staying overnight. We loved the character this place had! So many quirky surprises! Everything was clean and tidy and very well labeled. Instructions for various things were easy to find. The only complaint (if I had to pick something) was that the AC wasn’t ready and it was on the warmer side for early March, which wouldn’t have been a big deal but none of the windows had screens, so we really had no way to get some fresh air. There’s a ceiling fan in the bedroom that was small but mighty! Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely stay there again!!

Thank you for understanding that our AC units need a “wake up” routine before being turned on. This was unusual weather for the first week in March. The space was nice and unique. Parking was a little difficult and the lighting in the bathroom was very dim. Good location with activities within walking distance and very close to museums and aquarium. Overall pretty satisfied.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us! We really appreciate your feedback. For future guests, parking is usually quite easy — most guests regularly find a spot directly in front of the house, and street parking is available along the block on both sides of the street. During occasional peak times when more neighbors are arriving home, there may be brief periods when spots are in use, but this is not typical for the duration of a stay. We’ve had some guests who prefer private parking. One street over we have a two family rental with assigned parking spots right next to the house ….. just another option. (Gold in the city! Ha!)

This was my first time to Covington and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the old town area is. "Always Friday" was a joy to experience because it really is an experience. There were fun, quirky touches everywhere that kept me looking and smiling. The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Communication was great with the owner. I would definitely stay here again.

Fun house with lots of character! Have stayed here before and we were very happy with the area. I love that we can walk to The Yard at Covington for drinks and watching March Madness. Also walkable for us to Great American Ballpark. Perfect for our needs.

This spot was quirky and fun. It was clean, relatively quiet, and had all the essentials mapped out by the owners. I would certainly recommend for a small family or couple, but only if stairs can be easily managed. We enjoyed it.

Doug is an amazing film-maker, composer and sound guy; Vicky was a top podcaster on iTunes and blogger for 10 yrs focusing on "What Really Matters"; Aidan is our charming, handsome guy - a head pastry chef, supreme foodie, tech-geek, dog whisperer and all-around good human being loved by all; and Ellie is our adorable little princess - nick-named "Friday" for believing every day can be Friday when you're doing what you love. She loves music, her friends, art, pets and school. And then there is Granny (a.k.a. Linda) who is #5 to our Airbnb venture. Granny is retired and loves to help at the Airbnbs when she can. It's her FREE Thornton gym membership. She loves meeting guests and takes as much pride in hosting our homes as the rest of us.

We all LOVE food, movies, travel, people, and the city we live in! We have been landlords for nearly 30 years and our first Airbnb (House of Liebe - love in German) was the first home we bought together in Covington. The other half of this historic two-family is our other Airbnb (The Tres House - tres for three floors and our third Airbnb). It has been so much fun and successful we opened up two others, just a street over (The Slanted House and Always Friday - of course named after Ellie). And yes, The Slanted House does lean a little to the west if you are looking at it from across the street. So yes - we love hosting on Airbnb and always beautify-ing (a.k.a. cleaning) our homes to share with others.

Why they chose this property

Mutter Gottes Kirche, or Mother of God Church, was founded by German immigrants to Covington in 1841. The surrounding neighborhoods of treelined streets and brick town homes is named for this beautiful landmark. Mutter Gottes neighborhood was one of the first residential expansions of Covington, and most structures there were built between 1860 and 1890. The area bound by Fourth Street on the north, Pike street on the south, the CSX railway to the west, and Madison Avenue to the east is listed as a National Registered Historic District. Noteworthy historic structures include the fire station on Sixth Street and the Albert B. Koett house on Russell Street. A garden at the intersection of Sixth and Craig contains the Neighborhood Mosaic sign.
