Originally the home of one of the oldest Spanish families in Santa Fe, the home was extensively renovated in 2017. This lovely home has ample space for everyone to enjoy an authentic Santa Fe experience. The 950 sqft home includes a large master bedroom with a king size bed and a built-in closet, one small bedroom with a double bed, and a pull-out queen sofa bed in the living room right by the fireplace for a total of 6 people capacity. There is plenty of desk space for office or creative work. Open concept living room and kitchen provide dining space for four around the dining table or three at the bar/kitchen island. The lounge space around the TV and fireplace is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with a range oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric toaster and a washer/dryer. The bathroom with beautiful Mexican tiles has a bathtub and shower.
The main courtyard is a true oasis with beautiful trees, flowering plants, birds, an outdoor grill and a dining and lounging area under the shading branches of a gorgeous queen of paradise tree. The solar lanterns hanging from the tree light up in the evening, transforming the courtyard into a magical space. The small bedroom also has a charming courtyard with a couple of chairs and a bistro table in the shade of a 60 year old magnificent elm tree and offers an alternate outdoor space or an escape from others in your party.
The TV with XFinity service provides an endless line up of HD channels. If that is not sufficient, the SmartTV can be used to access all the on-line entertainment content you are accustomed to in your own home. The casita is equipped with high-speed internet.
Access is through a separate gate into the courtyard. Surrounding adobe walls provide safety and privacy. There is one designated parking space on the driveway.
Neighborhood:
The Rosario Hill neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Santa Fe. Many Spanish families owned large parcels here through grants by the Spanish King. A diverse residential area, the neighborhood incorporates much older family homes next to renovated beauties such as the historic Downtown Mansion this casita belongs to. Across from Arroyo Mascras, the feeling is one of living right by a river with tall and gorgeous elm and queen of paradise trees inhabiting the arrayo.
Getting Around:
A leisurely short walk will get you to the Downtown buses. The Railrunner Train Station that provides transportation to Albuquerque Sunport Airport is three minutes by car or an 18 minute of walk. Uber and Lyft are also very accessible in Downtown.
There are two routes to walk to the Plaza. The shorter route is through Griffin Street to the right of the house when you get out the door. The more scenic route is through the Grant Avenue and it takes about 10 minutes as it leads you by the historic Federal Courthouse and Scottish Rite Temple, the US Postal Service Headquarters, Santa Fe Convention Center and Georgia O'Keeffe Museum before the beautiful Plaza. Turn left from the house and just follow the arroyo. Grant Avenue is the first right up Rosario Boulevard.
