Such a great cabin right on the lake. Perfect for me and my two kids. Area to swim right off the dock, paddle board and kayaks, fire pit, cozy and clean inside.
We had a good time. The weather was overcast much of the week, but we still enjoyed sitting on the deck. We made one day trip to Greenville, which was not too far, and included lunch in Rockwood at The Birches. We also visited family in Bangor, which was an easy day trip with dinner at Dysart’s in Hermon on the way home. We enjoyed our stay at this “Rustic Maine Camp” in Hartland.
We had a wonderful week spent mostly on the deck overlooking the lake. The camp was clean, for the most part well supplied (bring a few extra hand towels for bathroom and kitchen) and decorated nicely while still keeping the Maine cabin feel. The kitchen had everything we needed to make simple meals. The days were warm and the mornings cool, which made the mini spilt heat/AC invaluable. Greg was quick to answer our questions and a wonderful host. We highly recommend this camp for your relaxing waterfront get a way.
Cozy rustic cabin right next to a beautiful, peaceful lake with few motorized boats on it. Heard the loons on a regular basis. One night we had a group of twelve loons paddle past the dock. We used the kayaks daily. As previous renters have stated, this cabin is not near much of anything so if you are looking for a quiet space to just hang out it's wonderful. The owner Greg responded to our questions almost immediately. I would suggest extra kitchen towels and facecloths if you use them. Bryant's Brewery is a half mile away. They were friendly with good beers and coffee. Also, an hour away, the Bog Boardwalk in Bangor is a great place for an easy walk. We saw lots of families of all ages. Overall, a great time in a nice place on a wonderful lake.
Definitely a cabin experience. My pups loved the water and our daily walks down the dirt road. We brought our boat and had it at the dock and took evening cruises with the pups. Grill on deck worked nice. An unexpected heatwave hit but the AC worked well. Definitely not a tourist area so if you’re looking for tourist shops this is not for you. But if your looking for peace and quiet then your home.
Excellent location in a very peaceful quiet setting. Very attentive property manager. Cabin has a very well equipped kitchen.and beatiful views of the lake.
Second time staying at this property. Did not disappoint. Was able to enjoy the property daily…swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Great communication with the host. Would highly recommend.
This is a simple cottage with everything you need for a great stay. The lake is beautiful; you are right on the water. Fishing off the dock, kayaking, swimming, relaxing...it’s all here. The large deck overlooking the lake is a special treat..but even inside the front span of windows allows for a great view. Owners are friendly and attentive. We had a great week!
We enjoyed our stay and the property. We had a little trouble turning on the woodstove to start, but once we figured that out everything was great. The woodstove did a great job keeping the chill out in the morning. The lake is beautiful and the cabin sits in a perfect spot. Very quiet and relaxing. Nice and rustic, but that is our style. We would stay again if we have the opportunity.
Enjoyed our 7 day stay at this beautiful lakefront cabin! Very clean and had everything we needed from Wi-Fi & cell service to pots & pans for cooking. Lots of good fishing, grilling and nights by the fire made the stay very memorable & fun!! The local pizza place was so good we got it multiple times and is only an 8 minute drive from the cabin! Kayaks & a hammock on the property were a huge plus as well. Our black lab also could not get enough of the water!! The pictures do not do the house justice as we were blown away when we walked in with the view and cozy vibe from inside. We would love to stay again soon & thanks to Greg for having such a wonderful place! 🙏😁
We had a great time at this property! Although the first few days we couldn't see the other side of the lake because of rain, when everything cleared it was awesome. Very quiet and peaceful at night. During the day, there were some boats on the water, but really not bad during the day. The call of loons at night was eerily beautiful. Getting up in the morning to the view of the lake was really cool. All in all, we had a great time, and would definitely consider this property in the future.
Unbelievable, beautiful, everything we needed and then some. The lake was so clean and the Loons were seen and heard everyday. I wanted to move in permanently. Thank you Greg for an amazing and peaceful stay..Kayaking with supplied kayaks and life jackets and all the wood you could burn , we will be back 🥰🙂💞
The description of this rental is very accurate. We would describe it as a wonderfully appointed 3-season Maine camp with very comfortable amenities. It had the features we wanted and some we did not know we needed. The weather during our stay was unusually HOT for Maine and the heat pump air conditioning was appreciated, even as we enjoyed dips in the lake and quiet time sitting on the deck. The kitchen contained the essentials (perfect for us) but elite chefs might want to bring their specialized cooking gear. Adequate towels and bedding were provided, and the beds were comfortable. One suggestion for a family that used many towels would be to bring a few extras. We also enjoyed the Wi-Fi and the gas grill. During our visit, another couple joined us for two nights, which worked well with the two bedrooms, but it should be noted that the bedroom walls do not go to the vaulted ceiling. Thus, visual privacy is possible, but sound does carry. (The small but functional bathroom is a self-contained space.) For location, the camp itself sits on beautiful Great Moose Pond in Hartland, ME, and for lake life it is wonderful. The public boat launch is just down the road, and we saw many boaters enjoying the lake. However, for people who want to explore "tourist" attractions, the area might not be for you. The area is beautiful, rural, and all about enjoying nature and the lake. Overall, we had a great week and would happily stay here again for an idyllic Maine lake vacation.
We arrived at Great Moose Lake after a long drive and were eager to see where we’d be vacationing for the next two weeks. We were a little nervous as the photos we’d seen were good, but we still had some questions – was it an easy place to relax in, did it have everything we wanted so we could have fun, was the lake really beautiful and interesting. Within 5 minutes our questions were answered with a resounding YES!
In no time we were sitting on the deck, enjoying a cool drink, and taking in the beautiful view of the lake.
This is a truly wonderful place to have a great lake vacation. The cabin layout was really clever – two good-sized bedrooms, a great bathroom, a compact but well-equipped kitchen and good spaces for playing games, reading, watching movies, relaxing on the decks (front and back) and all within steps of the lake.
We swam, kayaked and paddle-boarded every day. The water was crystal clear and refreshing. We saw fish in the shallows and many loons swam by, quite close to the jetty.
There is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs and a view of the lake where we spent many nights making s’mores and watching the magnificent sunsets.
We brought our dog with us (a big Bernese Mountain Dog) and he had a great time too.
The main bedroom looks straight out to the lake and the morning views were wonderful to wake up to (although with sunrise at 4:40am the early dawn light was a little surprising at first, but we got used to it!).
We had our two teenaged daughters with us so we had to sprinkle some “activity” days into our two weeks but that was fun too. We took day trips to Bangor, Damariscotta, Belfast, Fort Knox, and a few other places. They are not super close, but we found our excursions worth our time.
Our hosts were great – they gave us all the information we needed and were not intrusive at all. We accidentally left a few important personal times behind when we left but they sent them on to us very quickly.
This is a cabin we want to return to. As soon as the opportunity arises, we will.
My husband and I and our dogs had a great time. Such a beautiful spot! Quiet and private. Super clean lake to swim in and a floating dock to swim out to and lay in the sun. Enjoyed the kayaks and the SUP. We bought all our groceries at a nearby Hannafords - grilled on the gas grill, and cooked on the small but well stocked kitchen! There’s a coffee/brewery out of a nearby neighbors garage (Bryant’s Brewing) for walkable/kayak-able brews. Beautiful view from the bed (bring your eye covers if you want to sleep in). Big open concept house (if you have other guests/kids with you, there are doors to the rooms/bathrooms but open to the ceiling, so noise/light can travel). Fire pit and wood for cozy campfires. Lots of loons! I hope to have a special place of my own someday, but in the meantime I will definitely be back!
This cabin has the most amazing views of the lake. The views from the main bedroom are unbeatable. We loved waking up to see the lake in the morning when we first opened our eyes. It is in an awesome location, feels very private but not too far from things you may need and for day trips to places like Acadia or Moosehead Lake. We loved this cabin and will definitely be back!
Had a great week on the lake. It’s was nice to just relax on the deck and listen to the loons. There was a great brewery with in walking distance. We all really enjoyed our stay.
