Secluded farmhouse on south slope with excellent views and large private pool

Traditional farmhouse on a secluded 1.8 hectare terrain on the south slope of the Serra do Caramulo, with a lovely well-kept garden and a large (12 x 4 m) pool, pool house with wood stove. Depending on the season, vegetables and fruits are at your disposal. Trees include orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, walnut, hazelnut, almond, fig and olive trees; grapes, passion fruit, kiwi and various summer fruits. The Serra da Estrella marks the horizon. There are several shadowy terraces, all with view.
The house consists of two separate parts. One part (not in use during your stay) is private and not accessible. The second apartment consists of a kitchen/living room with wood stove, two bedrooms, a bathroom with separate toilet and a large balcony facing south. On the ground floor, separately accessible, a third bedroom and a large bathroom equipped with a washing machine. For the duration of your visit you have the whole property for yourselves.

Dit huis is echt fantastisch. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Maar het beste is de tuin. Of het landgoed, zo groot is het. Het is allemaal heel gezellig aangekleed en ingericht. We genoten van een vers geperst sapje bij het ontbijt van zelf geplukte sinaasappels. Het zwembad is ook erg lekker. Martinho is een erg vriendelijke man, die nauwelijks Engels spreekt maar dat vormt geen enkel probleem. En anders is er altijd Google Translate. Ook de eigenaren hebben met ons meegedacht, heel fijn! Dank voor een fijne vakamtie!

Um descanso excepcional

Tivemos uma estadia melhor do que esperávamos. Uma casa com tudo o necessário e extremamente limpa, uma piscina do outro mundo. Toda a envolvência da casa, com produtos hortícolas e árvores de fruto para nosso inteiro usufruto. O cuidado com a propriedade é imenso, o Sr José, a sua esposa e a Sandra são incansáveis quer no nosso bem estar quer no cuidado da propriedade. Não há palavras para descrever, o melhor mesmo é visitar. Tudo de positivo.

Beautiful garden with abundance of Lemon, Grapefruit and Orange trees providing plenty of fruit for fresh juice every morning. Property was very clean and tidy but suffered from a number of issues that spoiled the holiday experience. The swimming pool is beautiful however only two sun loungers provided for a party of five and no parasol or shaded area provided. As a result we had to go out and buy our own parasols for shade. The barbecue is located at the pool, unfortunately it suffers from an number of practical issues, there is no garden furniture provided so nowhere to sit and eat in shade. Also is approximately 100 metres from the house so have to carry food, cutlery etc quite a distance. Would be a real benefit to have cutlery and a fridge in the "Summer Kitchen" It's so impractical that we only used to once during our two week stay. House suffered from numerous power cuts whilst cooking, especially if the oven and the hob were in use at the same time. This meant fumbling around with a torch trying to locate the fuse box. Also had issues with water supply which turned out to be an issue with water pump. On arrival there was no hot water available. Numerous issues with the lock on the front gate. Overall I feel most of these issues are quite easy to put right with some forethought around the practical aspects of using the facilites. Not a location to rent with small children due to the high wall near the pool, no visibility of pool from the house and the unsecured water feature at the entrance.

Leuk verblijf in een prachtige omgeving

Het huis ligt in een heuvelachtige omgeving dus dit zal zowat de sportiefste vakantie zijn die ik ooit gehad heb :-) Maar wat een zalig huis !! Bij aankomst waren we onmiddellijk onder de indruk van de pracht van het huis, de bloemen, de tuin en niet te vergeten het zwembad ! Het appartement is perfect voor 4 personen. Het zijn wel 2 2-persoonsbedden dus wel ietsje vervelend als je met tieners gaat die dan samen moeten slapen. Er staat wel nog een 1-persoonsbed in de inkomsthal maar dat is een beetje een rare plek om te slapen. Maar voor de rest kan ik echt geen negatieve punten bedenken. De keuken is uitgerust met een nieuwe vaatwas en nieuwe oven. Dus alle luxe is aanwezig. Het is er enorm rustig, je hoort enkel de vogeltjes fluiten. Elke morgen gingen we appelsienen rapen en konden we genieten van versgeperst fruitsap. Maar ook tomaten, citroenen , meloen, braambessen, pompelmoes.... waren in overvloed aanwezig. Dat maakt het allemaal heel erg aangenaam om er te verblijven. Waar we het meest van genoten hebben is echter het zwembad. Wat een luxe om zo'n zwembad voor ons alleen te hebben. En met zo'n prachtig uitzicht op het dal. Het was er heerlijk vertoeven. In de nabije omgeving zijn er voldoende winkels om je boodschappen te doen. Je hebt wel telkens de wagen nodig want in de heel dichte omgeving is er niks waar je te voet om brood kan of andere eetwaren. Met de wagen heb je alles op 5 min binnen handbereik. Wij zijn met tegenzin terug huiswaarts getrokken. Ik kon gerust nog een weekje langer blijven. We hadden een leuke, deugddoende vakantie en hebben echt genoten van de rust.

Traum-Entspannung-Wohlfühl-Urlaub

Unglaubliche Lage des Objekts. Ein fantastischer Blick bis hin zur Serra da Estrella, der einen jeden Stress des Alltags vergessen lässt. Selten so entspannt. Keine Nachbarn, wenig Verkehr...totale Ruhe. Das gesamte Grundstück ist ein Traum...Gemüse und Obst, frisch und unbehandelt...mehr BIO geht nicht und es schmeckt fantastisch. Wunderschöner Garten, bunte Blumen und ein toller Pool. Wir haben abends den weiten Blick vom Balkon bei leckerem Vinho fresco genossen und dann erholsam geschlafen. Ein echtes Traumhaus.

Superbe jardin & piscine

Localisation de la quinta idéale, dans un jardin idyllique : vue magnifique sur la vallée, endroit super calme. Quel bonheur de pouvoir profiter des arbres fruitiers et du potager très bien entretenu par José & Aida !!!! Quelques bémols : - L'annonce est quelque peu trompeuse. La 3e chambre est accessible uniquement si 5 personnes louent la quinta. Nous étions 4 : 2 adultes et deux adolescents. Notre fils de 13 ans a dormi sur un lit dans l'entrée donnant directement accès sur la grande pièce à vivre. Aucune intimité pour lui ni pour nous. Nous étions obligés de vivre tous au même rythme sous peine de l'empêcher de dormir le soir ou de le réveiller le matin :-( - La salle de bain à laquelle nous avions accès n'est pas celle présentée dans les photos. La nôtre était moins moderne. - La machine à laver est accessible uniquement sur demande. - Manque de chance : nous avons eu plusieurs fois des coupures d'électricité et pannes d'eau. Merci à José et son épouse d'être venus à notre secours ;-) Ces bémols ne nous ont toutefois pas empêché de passer un chouette séjour à la quinta !

In één woord: bijzonder.

Een bijzondere prettige locatie. We hebben genoten van de harmonische inrichting van het huis, de zeer ruime en doordacht aangelegde tuin en het sympathieke aanbod van een geweldige variatie aan fruit. En natuurlijk ook van het zwembad. Een rustgevend geheel met veel privacy. Mede dankzij de zeer hulpvaardige contactpersoon ter plaatse.

MAGNIFIQUE JARDIN ET PISCINE, COMMODITES DE LA MAISON A REVOIR

La maison est divisée en 2, une première partie en haut à louer et une seconde réservée au propriétaire. On ne voit pas la piscine de la première (pas possible de surveiller les enfants de loin) et on est obligé de faire le tour pour s'y rendre, de même que sur le patio du bas si les propriétaires ne sont pas là pour faire un Bbq. Bref, ce n'est pas très pratique on a eu l'impression de vivre un peu dans un appartement avec balcon. Toutefois, le jardin est splendide et généreux en fruits et légumes de saison, parfaitement entretenu par José et sa femme Aida qui parlent très bien le français et sont adorables. La piscine est très appréciable et ensoleillée jusqu'a 19h en aout. Toutefois, prestation un peu cher par rapport à nos autres expériences du Portugal.

Geweldige locatie en woning met prachtig uitzicht

Prachtig gelegen woning met uitzicht tot aan Serra da Estrela. Twee slaapkamers, de 5e persoon slaapt in de hal/woonkamer op een extra bed. We troffen een verzorgde tuin aan waar het in volledige privacy heel goed toeven is. Fruit zo uit de tuin op je bord! Zwembad heel ruim met natuurlijk een fenomenaal uitzicht. Het gehele terrein is heel goed onderhouden. Let op: alleen de bovenwoning wordt verhuurd. De - grotere - benedenwoning wordt niet verhuurd maar is niet bewoond tijdens verhuur. Je kunt wel van de patio van die woning gebruik maken. In de directe omgeving is voor kids niet heel veel te beleven. De top van de Caramulinho is een bezoek waard. Contactpersoon spreekt alleen Frans maar is zeer behulpzaam. Kortom heerlijke plek!
