Stone house, rebuilt in 2006, surrounded by forest and agricultural fields. It consists of living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathroom.

Outside you can use the existing Barbecue, enjoy the large lawn and the private pool. It is possible to take strolls through the forest or the pedestrianized rails, take a bath in the river and rest. By car it is possible to take longer walks, enjoying the mountain landscapes and visiting historical monuments.

The house is located about 1500 m from the center of Couto de Esteves (restaurant, mini market, Church, hairdresser)

Private idyll, perfect in every way

A secret delight hidden in the valley just up from the dam lake, a real nature hideaway, tucked into the hillside down from an authentic Portuguese village in the mountains. Perfect holiday spot with immaculate pool & facilities. Beautiful garden picturesque rustic villa. A view to die for across to the mountain with only a few twinkly lights. Tranquility, local shop but supermarket at Sever do Vouga, a scenic trip of 45 mins well spent. Plenty of fabulous views. We weren’t here long enough & will be back to explore more.

We had a fantastic stay at the villa and loved every minute of our holiday. The villa was clean, comfortable, and just the right size for our family of four and our little dog, who absolutely loved having so much space to run around.The surroundings are stunning, with beautiful greenery everywhere, and it's only a short walk to the Vouga River, where you'll find even more amazing views. It was so peaceful and quiet – exactly what we were looking for.The pool area was lovely, with comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The only small suggestion we would make is the seating by the entrance. The dining chairs are absolutely fine for eating, but if you want to escape the sun and relax with a book or a coffee, a comfortable garden lounge set would make that area even more inviting. It really wasn't a big issue though – we simply moved a couple of chairs from the pool area and it worked perfectly.Although we didn't meet João in person, communication with him was excellent from start to finish. We had one small issue during our stay, but he responded quickly and resolved it straight away, which we really appreciated.The nearest larger supermarkets are about a 20-minute drive away in Sever do Vouga. The road is quite winding, but the scenery along the way is beautiful, so we actually enjoyed the drive.The location is perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet while still being within easy reach of places like Aveiro and Porto for day trips.Overa

A wonderful place to stay

Casa do Bouço Velho is a small house on the river bank, it has a beautiful garden and a private pool. The house is clean, equipped with everything that you might need. I especially liked the pool. The water is very clean (probably thanks to the natural flow through?) and refreshing. I was greeted with a bottle of fine Douro wine which I really appreciated. Communication with the host was very smooth. Instructions for locating the property, checking in and out were clear. There are many scenic spots, hiking trails and other similar attractions nearby; a nature lover will never get bored there. And Aveiro with its Michelin grade restaurant (plus other fine restaurants) and three fine tennis courts with hard cover is just 45 minutes away (well, actually an hour, if you are not very experienced driving on the mountain roads). I highly recommend this property

Inchecken gaat heel makkelijk met het sleutelkastje, wat duidelijk van te voren gemaild was.In de keuken was alles aanwezig. Bedden waren krurig opgemaakt en lagen lekker.Huis was schoon en er lag een fles douro wijn op ons te wachten, heel attent!Tuin was groot en mooi, wij hebben genoten van het zwembad en van de buitenbbq! Ook een wasmachine stast tot je beschiking.Het zwembad is tussendoor nog schoongemaakt door de eigenaar. Ook werd er aangeboden de bedden te komen verschonen tussendoor en schone handdoeken te brengen. Dat hoefde voor ons niet, wij hebben het zelf in de wasmachine gegooid.We hebben daar 2 weken gezeten met 2 kinderen van 11 en 15 jaar. Hadden zelf lucgtbedden voor in het zwembad meegenomen. Vanaf het huis kun je verschillende steden/bezienswaardigheden bezoeken op 20 tot 60 min afstand.

Tranquila e relaxante

Foi uma estadia muito tranquila e relaxante, muito bom para quem busca tranquilidade e contato com a natureza, só se ouve o barulho dos pássaros a cantar. A casa é bem decorada por dentro e por fora com muitas plantas e flores. Próximo a casa tem um rio com uma bela paisagem, e também é possível explorar outras opções por perto como aldeias e trilhas com cachoeiras.

un oasis de verdure et de calme

la casa de Bouço Velho est une maison magnifique au cœur d'un très agréable jardin arboré. La superbe piscine dans son écrin de verdure en fait un lieu de repos parfait. De belles balades (GR 60 et PR6) passent juste devant la porte. La maison est un peu éloignée de tout et la route pour y accéder n'est pas facile mais la récompense nous attend au bout du chemin

Petite maison bien équipé au calme. Idéale pour ce déconnecter. Le seul petit ic pour nous etait pour se rendre à la 1ere ville pour faire les courses. Il fallait faire 20 mins de petites routes a fort virages. Mais nous ne regrettons pas du tout.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé de bonne vacances .. Belle maison rustique, beau jardin ainsi que la piscine. Joao est a l'écoute il nous a bien accueilli. manque un peu de vaisselles(exemple petite cuillère)

Wonderful!!

Breathtaking scenery, a beautiful swimming pool set in an amazing garden. The house although only small had everything we needed for a relaxing tranquil holiday. We have no hesitation in recommending this hidden gem to all wishing for a peaceful time. The nearby village provided all essentials , locals very friendly and portugese food delicous. We hope to return next summer. Joao a great big thank you.

É com muito prazer que deixo a minha opinião sobre este alojamento. O espaço é muito mais bonito do que o apresentado nas imagens (aliás, foi o primeiro comentário que fiz ao proprietário mal cheguei). A sala não possui um só sofá, mas dois, o que julgo ser importante mencionar já que a habitação está devidamente preparada para pelo menos 6 pessoas. O exterior junto à piscina não possui guarda-sol mas existe um lindo espaço debaixo do castanheiro com muita sombra todo o dia. Penso que a única coisa que falta são colchões para as duas espreguiçadeiras junto à piscina,mas nada de significante. De resto tanto a casa como os arredores são magníficos, existem percursos pedestres muito bonitos e se alguém procura privacidade e sossego, então encontrou o espaço certo... para não falar obviamente da simpatia e acolhimento dos proprietários e das ofertas de produtos da terra com que fomos prendados durante toda a nossa estadia. Agradecemos tudo isto e prometemos voltar um dia!
