This modern and comfortable gîte boasts two large swimming pools perfect for sunbathing while enjoying a refreshing swim. Both pools are securely fenced off for your safety and peace of mind. Games areas and 2 acres of garden to enjoy and relax. Ideal for families and friends who want to appreciate all the delights of Southern France!
Family-run estate comprising four self-contained cottages.

The property features a picturesque circular courtyard shaded by 200-year-old yew trees. The centrepiece of the enclosure is a beautiful fountain. The Gîte is well equipped. We offer two areas for alfresco dining (patio furniture and BBQ), free wifi and parking with communal large swimming pools, games areas with pool table, football table and table tennis, and a swing set with ample space to play football or relax.
The impressive Chateau de Javarsay in Chef Boutonne has a fishing lake and picnic area within walking distance. There is a Saturday Market, various shops, restaurants and bars, two supermarkets and all the general amenities you might need, all 1.5 km from your front door. Within one hour’s drive, there are many things to do and see. Nearby activities include Cognac tasting at the distillery, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast, fascinating architecture, préhistorique site and sightseeing opportunities, Zoo and Futuroscope theme park, cycling and kayaking, to name but a few.

De notre court séjour, nous gardons une impression inoubliable de l'ambiance parfaite du gite au milieu d'une campagne française magnifique parsemée de villages tous plus jolis les uns que les autres. Vraiment mille mercis à Julie-Anne, Éric et leur chat pour l'ambiance détendue, calme et chaleureuse qu'ils donnent, dans leur pittoresque propriété agréablement aménagée à cette image également.

Idylic holiday destination

We loved everything about being here. A lovely peaceful, tranquil holiday for me and my family. The owners were lovely and very helpful. From the moment I arrived I felt very relaxed. The accommodation was perfect with a private rear garden. A barbecue area which also had seating. Also very pleased to have met Jack. I would love to come back again.

Nous avons passé 3 jours et 2 nuits en famille dans le gîte "la mouette". Julian et Éric sont de super hôtes, très accueillants et sympathiques. Le gîte est très adapté pour 8 personnes avec tout l'équipement nécessaire. Et l'extérieur est un véritable terrain de jeu pour les enfants. Bref, super WE. Je recommande !!!! Sandrine D

Nous avons passé le premier de l an entre amis dans un des gîtes et c était vraiment très bien. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, sympathiques et vraiment à l écoute de tout réajustement. Le gîte était encore mieux que sur les photos. Nous conseillons pour un séjour ce gîte.

We welcome you to our home, le Logis de Lussais, built in 1832! We are Canadian-born (Quebecois!) but have lived in the UK for 30 years, working for a large accommodation provider. This area is easily accessible from the UK and many European destinations with useful all-year transport links (our sons return regularly!). We are near many popular tourist destinations to enjoy.
This area has much to discover and appreciate. It is also the second sunniest region of France!
We moved to the charming Logis de Lussais in January 2016. Sadly, the property had been abandoned for over two years and desperately needed tender loving care. Julieanne and I have nearly single-handedly updated, improved and brought the Logis de Lussais back to life with lots of hard work and love.
We hope our tranquil and charming home will delight you as much as it did and still does us every day.

Why they chose this property

All through our working life, we spent our precious family holidays (we have 2 sons) in the Poitou–Charente region staying in Gîtes. The kids loved it! We moved permanently to this region 4 years ago. It was a dream come true…not only because of our fond memories but also, its history and peaceful scenery.

What makes this property unique

Set in the sunny Poitou Charente region of South West France between the Loire and Dordogne. It is known as the sunniest area of France, just after the Provence.
Our property and home is a traditional Logis Charentais set in the beautiful countryside surrounded by the Boutonne valley. We are located in the peaceful village of Lussais, close to local amenities in the charming market town of Chef Boutonne and within easy reach of the beaches along the Atlantic coast.
