Absolute lake edge, Okere Falls - Lake Rotoiti- This is a unique space on the waterfront with plenty of native bush. It provides an experience that captures the spirit of the Kiwi bach holidays that we know and love providing relaxation and good times.
IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: The house is two storied - the downstairs space is not accessible to guests and reserved for owners use only. The photos depict the areas that are available to you for use. You will still have a very private experience perfect for a couples retreat.
IMPORTANT GUEST ACCESS:
Please note that the rates are based on two adults sharing the King double bedroom. The second bedroom will be locked. If you require access to the second bedroom you must book at the 3 traveller rate or if 4 travellers the 4 traveller rate.
Gardeners visit the property usually on a Friday, but this the day of the week may vary dependent on weather ( They do not encroach on your space).
You have a UV filtered water system out of all taps. Tap Water is drinkable.
The kitchen has all the basics and there is a Weber BBQ on the deck. There is underfloor heating int the upstairs bathroom and heated towel rails. Note that the downstairs bathroom is in the laundry and is accessible by external stairs only.
There is a timer switch mounted on the wall for the heat pump to cosy up the bach. The heat pump warms the building in a very short time. For ambience in the winter months there is also a log fire, but we ask that you bring your own wood.
Both bedrooms and the lounge have water views so allow nature to inspire you as the birds sing you into your day (along with the hum of distant traffice... we love that about a holiday!). You will definitely see fantails, tui's and the endangered dab chicks. We love the bird life.
The location is less than 5 min walk to great fly fishing and lovely bush walks at Okere Falls(Tutea Falls). 3 minute walk to the famous and poplular Okere Falls Cafe. Walking distance to white water rafting companies, and the zip line experience.
Triple Sheeting on all beds - It is a hygienic system using commercially laundered linen resulting in a bright and fresh bed that we hope will give you a healthy and relaxing sleep.
15 minutes by motor boat to Manupuri Hot Spring - [boat access only- paid entry)
There is seating and a small table to enjoy the lake edge, while watching the world go by from your nature haven.
There are 2 Kayaks for your use, owners don't mind if you use their life jackets, but suggest you bring your own as we cannot ensure that they will fit you. (IMPORTANT for water safety for them to be a good fit) 20 minutes drive to Rotorua (11 minutes to airport), 40 minutes drive to Tauranga 2.5 hours to Ruapehu, 3 hours from Auckland. Pool table in garage, but we ask that no children play in garage unsupervised due to storage of boating and garden equipment.
SIGHTSEEING There is almost no limit to the sightseeing in the district! Try the Agrodome where you can discover that sheep are really very intelligent and also find out about all the breeds. Paradise Valley Springs.. trout viewing and you can hand feed the animals. Polynesian Spa lets you soak in the mineral pools or take advantage of a massage or facial. Skyline offers Skyrides, take the Gondola up to the Luge track and race down the hill. NZ Maori Arts and Crafts Institute at Whakarewarewa offers guided tours through the thermal area . In winter it can be cool in mornings until around 10am - with wooden floors and rugs we do recommend you bring slippers. It does have a kent fire and underfloor heating in bathroom upstairs, so is cosy.

Special conditions:
No smokers and no pets. We do not supply wood for the log fire. However the property does have a heat pump upstairs, underfloor heating in the bathroom and heated towel rails.

Unless requested and confirmed at time of booking the second bedroom is unavailable.
Tarrif may very depending on time of year ie school holidays. Long weekends, Easter and Public Holidays
Location note
The property is in a private location looking out over the water. Beyond the waterview you do see a small portion of the road into and out of Rotorua and so at different times you may hear road noise. (more so with a westerly wind and particularly if you are outside.

Guest are expected to leave holiday home tidy,dishes done rubbish removed and BBQ clean.The cleaning fee covers thorough clean of kitchen bathroom ,vacuum and beds remade etc Linen (included); kayaks and life jackets x 2 (included); Wi-fi is included (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the house tidy and dishes washed.
