Hukapapa Accommodation Teina

Hukapapa Lodge is a great place to stay for your winter holiday at the snow. From the huge deck you can enjoy a hot coffee in the morning sun, view the mist rising over tranquil Raurimu, and watch the train going over the world renowned Raurimu Spiral. Get your ski gear on and hit the slopes. Only 20 mins to Whakapapa ski field and 50 minutes to Turoa ski field. Then after a hard day of fun and adventure just kick back and relax with family or friends or head off to the hot pools in Tokaanu. If you want to get out and socialise, National Park has several welcoming bars and restaurants to choose from.

Hukapapa Teina is a fully furnished bach that easily caters for a family, providing all you need to be comfortable. An open plan layout, good sized bedrooms and a compact kitchen. Separate toilet. Bathroom has the best high pressure shower ever. Fully carpeted, electric blankets on all the beds and heaters that quickly heat the unit making it cosy and warm. There's also lots of parking and space to play on the huge section.

A 5 min. drive to National Park where you’ll find a service station which supplies all your essentials and more. The handy location allows you to enjoy all the activities in Tongariro’s National Park – skiing or snowboarding, Tongariro crossing, cycling, tramping the various walks in National Park, golfing and so much more. Including Tokaanu hot pools which are only 40 mins away.

Hukapapa Teina is one of two homes on the same property. Hukapapa Tuakana is a 4 bdrm unit (See listing #10752 for Hukapapa Tuakana ). If you wish to book both properties for a large group or whanau, discounts may apply, POA.

Linen can be supplied for $10 per person per stay, otherwise please bring your own sheets and towels. Blankets, duvets etc will be supplied.
Cleaning service is available. If you want this service please leave $30 on the table on your departure.

Great location for Whakapapa ski fields

This is a basic family Bach. Nothing flash, but it was just right for our little group to stay for a couple of nights while skiing in the daytime. Easy access and parking. Lovely and warm. Fantastic communication with the owners.

Cosy with the Essentials

The property has all you need - a shower with hot water and great water pressure, pots, cutlery, jug, oven, washer and dryer, heaters and electric blanket etc. It was a great getaway at a reasonable price. Instructions for entry were very clear and it was no hassle. Very much enjoyed our short stay.

Great Proximity to Whakapapa

Great little home away from home. If you are arriving late in the winter evening be prepared it takes a while to warm up. Once warm it is great. Heaps of blankets and cosy beds.

This was a difficult stay. The house sits so close to the road that the whole building shakes when heavy vehicles pass by, which is often. It was hard to sleep under these conditions, and not very pleasant to be in the house when awake.

Nice cozy place tucked in Raurimu

Nice little place tucked in Raurimu. Beds were nice and comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped, and all round the place was cozy. The only thing I think could have been improved was the heating, as a couple of the heaters were getting a bit old and weren't as effective. Overall however a really pleasant place to get away to, and it served us well.

All the essentials were there. The house even heated up quite nicely. A few additional touches would have made it excellent. For example, tea and coffee, bin liners, salt and pepper etc. When we arrived the house did smell awfully musty, maybe a fragrant candle can be supplied to overcome the smell. Lastly, the house did shake a bit when trucks went by, but there's not much I think that can be done about that. Overall still a pretty nice stay.

Close to Whakapapa

Raurimu is handy to Whakapapa, only 20 minutes drive. Place is ok, amenities are good, simple but good. Unfortunate that we didn't know it was Ohakune Mardi Gras weekend. Loud music from next door on the same property all night. The people staying there were nice guys though and did tell us things were going to be loud. Neighbouring house is very close. Thanks Adrian
