Quirky cottage located in very quiet location. It is centrally located to all the activities in the area with most activities being no longer than a 30 minute drive.
This is the third time that we, as a family, have booked this little gem. We had a busy weekend at a family function, and this was perfect for us. I highly recommend booking here. We look forward to returning for a relaxing and soothing weekend. Jeanette is a superb host.
Was perfect place for us exploring the national park during the day. Was great to have a hot spa to come back too after a cold day outside. Place had everything we needed & was very private with a huge section for vehicles & trailer. Will certainly be back.
Great place to stay for mountain biking in the Tongariro area
Pleasant place to relax after a day full of activity. Spacious & private, the spa is a bonus. Owhango is a great location to access the 42 Traverse & other riding or walkjng in the area. Speedy comms from a friendly host.
A great base for outdoor activities in the Tongariro region
We are keen Mountain bikers & this cottage is a convenient base for riding the 42T & other trails in the area such as the Fisher track or Ohakune Old Coach Rd. It has a relaxed feel & the spa is nice to soak in after a big day of activity
Property just as described. Rustic, warm and cozy. Can’t fault our stay at all though sadly I found the spa pool was too hot for me, but hubby and our sons loved it! We will definitely return.
Very roomy and well organised. It has a lodge/bach/homely feel. Everything you need in one place with a fire to warm the place beautiful ly. We bought fish n chips in Taumaranui, plus a few drinks and had a relaxing night. We'd definitely come back, and bring more family next time.
We were very disappointed in the condition of the home when we arrived for our stay. Lots of cobwebs everywhere. Walls, doorways, ceilings and in the kitchen around the fireplace. House smelled quite musty. We opened the doors to try to get rid of this smell and it helped somewhat. Messaged the host and she replied back that it had sat empty for a while but it had been cleaned after the last renters. We felt that it should have been checked prior to us arriving if it had sat empty for a while. Dead bugs in the corners as well as the window sills. Host messaged us back that they would do a more thorough cleaning after our visit. We were not impressed with this listing and would not recommend it
A great stay, spa pool was a definite bonus. As other reviews said the place is a little rustic but it had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Would recommend and will be back!
This was the second time we stayed here and we've really grown quite fond of the house! Lovely relaxing home, snug and warm, remote and quiet in a beautiful part of the country. I managed to finish a puzzle in our time there! We'll be back!
