Modern open plan holiday home with spacious living and sea views of Ligar Bay. Sleeps 8.

This beach house is set high to capture the glorious sea views of Ligar Bay. It features a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors to the front deck. There are three well appointed bedrooms: Two queen bedrooms and one room with 1x King single, 1x single and a set of bunks. This third room can be configured into a super king bed making it the perfect house for 3 couples to stay or for families. There are 2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets.

The front deck is accessed from the living area and leads down to the spacious lawn below. It features a large picnic table for meals and cape cod chairs for watching the sunsets out to sea. The second internal deck is accessed from the living area and the main bedroom. It basks in the morning sun with glorious views of native bush and the resident native birds. Both decks are child friendly with gates above stairs.

This house is only a few minutes walk to the golden sands of Ligar Bay beach. Ligar bay is the perfect beach for families with breathtaking beauty and expansive golden sand. Included in the house are two sea kayaks and life jackets. Take them down at high tide for a paddle to explore the bay, lagoon and the caves!

There are more countless stunning beaches as you head towards Able Tasman National park. Or you may choose to explore one of the many walks through native forest to waterfalls or stalagmite caves. There are also wonderful local walks for families with young children at Te Waikoropupu Springs, The Grove and The Labyrinth rocks.

If you are in the mood for a drink and bite to eat you are spoiled for choice with excellent coffee and woodfire pizzas at Totos and Dangerous Kitchen. Our other favourite choices in the area include the Wholemeal cafe, Courtyard Cafe and the Cheeky Goat tapas Kiwi Spirit Distillery. You are spoilt for choice!

The property was better than we thought it'd be.

Better views and accommodation than expected. Clean, easy living/dining area and decks. Hosts good to deal with. Must remember to take tea and coffee when staying in a bookabach.

Great stay at Ligar Bay. We were more impressed with the house than the pictures showed. Lovely to be able to open all the doors. The only thing that could have been better was linen. We opted for the linen hire to save the hassle of taking it. Each adult had one towel but there wasn’t one for our toddler, no face clothes or beach towels. Luckily we’d taken beach towels but if you wanted to swim you would need to take your own. Sheets were provided although we still needed to make beds when we got there. So overall would have been better and just as easy to take our own. Overall though good stay. Thank you.

Lovely elevated aspect

We had a lovely 3 nights, enhanced by the aspect to the bay from the deck & BBQ. Not absolutely beachfront but be aware that is not necessarily a bad thing - 'beach front' means across the road from the beach ... a road which has some traffic., whereas we had a lovely quiet stay with views, yet without any road noise. We stayed as a couple, with a friend staying for two nights - this was fine, but note that that the second toilet and shower room are downstairs for which you have to go outside to access. Not an issue as we didn't use any of those facilities, which were extensive with washing machine etc. Bed linen and towels are extra (in NZ bach tradition, though we don't adhere to the logic of this!), as was cleaning ...I guess we just have a slight issue with this generally because inevitably, while the cleanliness was generally good, some things e.g. crockery and cutlery needed a clean before we would use it. Just a general request to make cleaning an obligatory charge (or inclusive) on book a bach properties. This lack of cleanliness is the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Absolutely no reflection on the owners who responded at very short notice and gave clear and precise instructions. In conclusion, we would definitely recommend this property fro a couple, or more, depending on your attitude to sharing toilet/bathroom facilities! PS Please Book a Bach - Include linen & cleaning on all your properties at whatever cost!

Fabulous house, fabulous location, fabulous view of the bay.

Fabulous house, fabulous location, fabulous view of the bay. Already planning our return visit, so much more exploring of the area to be done, a week just wasn't long enough! The house is very clean and welcoming. Despite there being no TV, our teenage boys got back to basics and enjoyed playing games, reading, swimming, kayaking and exploring.
