Summary:
A romantic vineyard hideaway overlooking the rolling valleys of Onetangi. Set beside award-winning wineries with views stretching toward the coast, this Mediterranean-style cottage is a private retreat for two. Sun-soaked patios, warm interiors, and the peaceful rhythm of vineyard life make this a calm, scenic base for long lunches, slow mornings, and easy walks to world-class wine and food.
The Space:
The Vineyard Cottage is a peaceful, Mediterranean-inspired retreat set at the edge of the vineyard with rural views across neighbouring Miro/Casita Miro and Obsidian vines. The cottage is designed for simplicity and calm, with bi-fold doors opening to a sunny patio, outdoor dining, and the natural stillness of the valley.
Inside, the open-plan living area feels relaxed and welcoming, with soft light, comfortable seating, and a compact kitchenette for simple home cooking. The bedroom sits just off the main space and includes a super-king bed and warm, natural textures that suit the rural setting. A full bathroom with a rain shower completes the interior.
The patio is where you’ll spend most of your time, quiet mornings with coffee, long afternoons in the sun, and evenings grilling on the gas BBQ as the vines shift colour with the light. Follow the track past the vineyard to reach Onetangi Beach, one of Waiheke’s most loved stretches of sand, or wander uphill toward the surrounding wineries for tastings, lunch, or sunset glasses of wine.

Early check-ins and late check-outs may be available for a small fee if there are no same-day turnovers.
The Neighborhood:
The cottage sits in one of Waiheke’s most iconic food and wine valleys, surrounded by renowned vineyards and restaurants including Miro/Casita Miro, Stonyridge, Te Motu, and Obsidian, all within walking distance.
A beautiful 10-minute walk leads down the hill to Onetangi Beach, home to Three Seven Two, Ki Māha, and Charlie Farley’s. A little further you’ll find the Onetangi shops, small cafés, and access to the coastal walkway. You’re also a short drive to The Heke Brewery and Distillery for casual dining, craft beer, and sunny lawn space.
This is an ideal location for guests wanting quiet rural charm with outstanding food, wine, and coastline close by.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended for exploring Waiheke, as distances between villages, wineries, and beaches can be longer than they appear. If you prefer not to drive, the nearest bus stop is in Onetangi, where buses run toward Oneroa Village and continue to the passenger ferry at Matiatia, stopping at major wineries (including The Heke) along the way.
Taxis and rideshare services operate island-wide, though availability can be limited during peak times.
Other Things to Note:
The Vineyard Cottage sits at the end of a gravel road which is suitable for 4WD or AWD vehicles. Two-wheel-drive vehicles must park in the layby at the top, approximately 40–50 metres from the cottage.
