Whare Hita - designer coastal city comfort

Winter Rate - new app tax rules have unfortunately increased the cost of staying at short-stay rentals by 15% from 1 April 2024. We have decided to absorb that hike for guests over Winter and have lowered our nightly rates for the months of May to August.

Architecturally designed one bedroom ground level apartment with large windows and oak flooring making it a very comfortable space for a weekend away or holiday. Located along New Plymouth's famous walk/cycleway that provides 10 km of coastal walking or cycling. Close to safe swimming beach, and popular place for surfing, kite surfing. Two minutes from the start of the beautiful Te Henui walkway, 10-minutes walk to the heart of the city.

After 12 years of booking accommodation around NZ and Europe, this would have to be the best value for money place we've stayed. Beautifully appointed kitchen and outdoor garden room for those that like to cook at home. Everything you need, all of it stylish. Big fluffy beach towels were very handy for swimming at the nearby beach. Great recommendations for dining within a 15min walk along the waterfront. This was the perfect place to return each evening after four days of exploring Taranaki. Highly recommend for a couple who want to treat themselves.

Location was excellent, back deck great, kitchen was lovely. No drawers or shelves to put clothing ( we’re traveling in NZ for 2 mos, so need to get stuff out of our suitcases). No A/C or microwave, which we can work around, but no windows that really open, so even though the temperature was mild, no flow through ventilation.

We do have list of amenities on the website, we think a good supply - but no microwave. We encourage prospective guests to check the amenities list before making your booking or if there is something particular you require please get in touch first. We would like to reassure prospective guests - all windows fully open. We have a huge sliding door, and opening skylight for evening through ventilation and a standing fan in the bedroom :-) we hope that helps to clarify.

Beautiful relaxing property

The property was exactly as advertised and the owners were flexible and responsive when I need to extend my stay. I had a wonderful time and would recommend the property to anyone staying in the area. The location was great. Right next to beach and a quick 10-15 walk to town
