Are you looking for accommodation with a difference? We invite you to relax and enjoy The Vicarage Barn, the renovated Barn/Stables of the historic Vicarage. Stand-alone and fully self-contained, The Barn has a unique character complemented with modern facilities. Two upstairs bedrooms both with comfy king and single beds and space for an extra fold away bed if required. Downstairs a heat pump and pot belly fire keep you toasty and warm while you watch tv or play records on the turntable. We offer an optional laden breakfast tray. All of our handcrafted wines are available for purchase and enjoy on-site, along with beer from our local craft brewery, The Brew Moon Brewing Company. Set in the heart of the Waipara Valley wine region, the Vicarage Barn is the ideal place for couples, family or groups of friends to get away from it all. Relax in the private indoor spa, wander the established grounds, enjoy a long lunch under the veranda and absorb the beauty of the Waipara Valley while enjoying a glass or two of our boutique wines. Private and romantic for couples, with families and small groups welcome and children provided for.
Part of the Waipara Valley cycle trail that will take you past 4 wineries, walking distance to 2 wineries, both being a lunch option. 29 wineries within the region to visit, 4 offering lunch. 45 minutes to Hanmer Springs, 1.5 hours to Kaikoura. Walking tracks nearby. Explore the coastal region of Nape Nape and Motunau. Salmon and trout fishing in the Hurunui River. 3 golf courses within 30 minutes. Weka Pass steam train leaves from Waipara to Waikari every second Sunday. Waipara Valley Farmer's market every Saturday morning 9-12. Restaurants and cafes in Amberley 10 minutes away.

A Relaxing Retreat

This accommodation was the perfect rustic retreat for our needs post a local event, especially being able to relax in the spa. The beds were very comfortable. This would be a great summer stay so the pool and outdoor space could also be enjoyed.

The barn is a lovely, quirky place to stay. Downstairs is nice and cool in the summer heat - upstairs perhaps a little warm on summer nights. Loved being able to listen to some of the huge variety of music available on the large verandah. Having both an outdoor pool and indoor spa is a bonus. Very peaceful and relaxing. Hosts very helpful. Always something to catch your eye. Cool fire, mint record collection. The explosions to scare the birds off the grapes ruined any sleep in sadly. Would've been nice to have known before we booked

Perfect place to get away and relax. We stayed a night and loved every minute. The spa pool is an added bonus. Summer would be amazing with the pool and outdoor area.
