Our quaint & clean cottages are located in the heart of Grove with a country feel. The absolute best of both worlds with 15 wooded acres on Carey Bay shoreline yet located within a few miles of town center.
A boardwalk winds through the trees, offering three tranquil seating areas to soak in the sights and sounds of the outdoors. After a long day on the lake, watch the sunset over Carey Bay and then head back to your cozy cottage where you can grill some hamburgers and relax around a fire. Every cottage was designed with the discerning traveler in mind and includes all the comforts of home, just smaller.
The peaceful lakeshore is after a flat, easy trail behind the cottages. Explore the land and enjoy the forest and lake views. The shoreline is kept in its natural state and is the perfect place to relax, launch kayaks, swim, and watch the gorgeous sunsets. Dock the boat just a mile away at The Wolf Creek Park and Boating Facility, a top-of-the-line fishing facility. Enjoy the other fun activities our area has to offer like various water sports, MId-America Outdoors, golfing, the state park, Har-Ber Village, and Lendonwood Gardens, to name a few. This cute cottage was perfect for our two night stay to attend the Bassmaster Classic tournament. It was very clean and the location was easy to access. We would stay here again.
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Carey Cottage. Adorable decor, comfortable bed, great location. We didn’t use the canoes, paddle boards or kayaks this time but will definitely try when we return. The owners really thought of everything anyone would need plus more. There are games, a fishing pole, great tv options. We would love to return!
Nice and clean cottage that is well maintained. Beautiful outdoor setting. Some of the kayaks are in need of maintenance but we found two that served our needs and enjoyed an hour on the lake. Such a refreshing and quiet outdoor experience. They thought of everything!! Didn’t have a single need that wasn’t met!! Will certainly stay here again and highly recommend this property!!
Upon arrival we received info on how to enter the property. Loved the cleanliness of the property as well as the communication held with the property owners. Fire pit wouldn’t light but I loved the back porch area. Short walk to lake, we rented a boat on the other side and explored the lake that way. However there were kayaks and paddle boats available for use as well as life vest. Dishes were provided loved this place will be returning.
Upfront, I appreciate the owners willingness to accommodate my need for a fragrance free stay. I brought my own kayaks (bring a cart if you do the same, its 100ish yards), but they had a variety of kayaks and SUPs available near the water. They had life jackets, but I'm glad I had my own. The small cove was perfect, too shallow for larger boats and even closer to the main body its a no wake area. I like going to places like this right at the beginning of fall when it is more quiet. Get off the main trail to lake to really find treasure in a nature walk or a perfect meditation area. The deck in the trees was nice though I didn't use it due to it being damp this weekend. My little dogs enjoyed being about to go and find new smells on the woods in a safe space for them to come. I did not use or visit the game room space so I have no comment to add on that.
We stayed here over the weekend. The property was beautiful. The shower was amazing. It was peaceful and there were cardinals and lightning bugs out back.
We stayed here while closing on my house. The back of the cabin is great for bird watching. I do not know who was watching who me watching the cardinal or it watching me. The town has what you need with a little drive. The owners were very nice. Herb helped us with tips of the area. The lake was a dock walk away. We enjoyed it and I think you will too.
This cottage was modern, very well kept and had lake access right on the property. We would definitely recommend staying here!
