About this property
Luxury Hill Country Escape • Pool, Hot Tub, Firepit • Near Wineries
RELICS RESERVE, formally known as “Relics Ranch”, is a stunning, 2-home estate that creatively blends history, nature, and design into every corner of the property. Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Wimberley, TX, our unique and secluded 11-acre retreat is perfect for couples, families, and small groups year-round with local wineries, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and other vacation comforts a mere walk or brief drive away. The two homes have a combined total of 3 king suites, 2 queen bedrooms, and 2 comfy sleeper sofas with luxury bedding located in each great room with 4 full bathrooms. The homes boast an eclectic mix of rustic and modern furnishings originally designed and curated by the previous owners of Relics Ranch, HGTV designer, Bex Hale, and her husband, David Hale. Think Restoration Hardware meets the Texas Hill Country! Relics has been a standout participant in the annual home tour and is an impressive example of Hill Country finery.
OVERVIEW and HISTORY OF THE 2 HOMES:
- The “RANCH HOUSE” is a seamless fusion of vintage charm and modern comforts. Surrounded by a 360-degree, wrap-around porch with chairs and porch swings, The Ranch House offers a large master suite with king bed and ensuite shower/tub bath, two queen bedrooms with a shared bathroom with a walk-in stone shower. The sofa pulls out to a comfy queen bed with a plush mattress topper. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen with a beautiful view of the garden that features granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, cookware, drinkware, utensils, and a massive handmade hardwood table that seats 14 guests.
Our special house features vintage treasures and welcoming art collections to complement the interior walls, anchored by stone and original hardwood floors. The ceilings feature pressed tin molding and 100-year-old beadboard salvaged from a Georgian farmhouse, adding historical character. Creative touches are evident throughout with unique pieces like the coffee table crafted from turn-of-the-century Detroit factory gears and a nostalgic wood-burning stove in the heart of the house.
-The “LODGE” offers a truly beautiful esthetic haven combining old world charm with luxurious design features - all with guest experience at top of mind. Erected in 2007 using massive hand-hewn timbers, her construction serves as a testament to history and the incredible craftsmanship of the first generations of men who came to America. The Lodge offers 2 equally spacious and beautifully-appointed, oversized king suites, each with their own private ensuite baths with curved stone showers and stand-alone deep, copper soaking tubs. The great room has comfortable seating, a towering stone wood-burning fireplace, copper dining table for 6, and a party bar/coffee bar with stools and a mini kitchen (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and copper sink). The sofa pulls out to a comfy queen bed with a plush mattress topper.
Built with primitively logged wooden beams originally crafted and utilized for a 1820’s barn in Gettysburg, PA before their incorporation into The Lodge at Relics. The walls of the home are made from corrugated metal reclaimed from the barn’s roof built in the 1940s. Window and door casings were salvaged from a late 1800s home on the Jersey Shore home and solid Tiger Oak doors add further historical depth. Inside, the furnishings continue the narrative with copper tables, a massive cabinet made of architectural elements salvaged from an Indian palace, and curated decor from vintage shops across Texas. Each bedroom suite features its own unique, internationally sourced headboard. Master Suite #1 offers a 200 year old hand-carved church doors from Guadalajara, Mexico. Master Suite #2 offers a 19th century hand-forged iron gate from France.
OVERVIEW OF THE ESTATE GROUNDS: The grounds encompass a large, well manicured lawn with lush grass, stone walkways, crushed limestone, and numerous native plant varieties shaded by large, majestic oak trees. The entire space is enclosed with a hand-stacked stone perimeter. The 2 homes, situated 20 yards apart on opposite sides of the pool/hot tub, are connected by a serene oasis surrounded by lush greenery cultivated in the charming greenhouse. The inviting cabana with its tin metal roof, cedar beams, and ample seating options, is home to an outdoor kitchen, making this space an unforgettable poolside feature with its tables and chairs, gas grill, fridge, ice maker and a bar with bar stools. The pool/hot tub overlook a stone water fountain and with views of the garden and beautiful sunsets. The stone patio has a wood-burning fireplace with ample and cozy seating. There are dozens of indoor and outdoor games for kiddos and adults alike. The use of the hot tub is included in your stay.
OTHER SPECIAL FEATURES: Beyond the stone wall perimeter, guests are welcome to visit the barn, paddock, climb and perch from the tree house, explore our grounds with countless opportunities to observe nature and wildlife. A newly added walking trail—just over a mile long—winds through the property, offering a peaceful route for morning strolls, birdwatching, or stretching your legs under the open sky. RELICS RESERVE is home to our sweet and friendly pets: Mother and Daughter Mini-Donkeys (June Carter and Loretta Lynn) a 1 Barn Cat (Black Kitty). June Carter and Loretta Lynn graze freely outside the stone walls and are especially popular with children. Black Kitty is a quiet and extremely friendly outdoor girl who is more than happy to keep the grounds free from unwanted critters.

Very nice property. Great for a family group. We throughly enjoyed our family Christmas there. Just had a couple of issues, but host was helpful. Hot tub was not working and a/c froze up in the ranch house. I realize repair personnel hard to get during holidays. Certainly would consider this location again for our family gathering.

This place is fantastic! Grab your family and friends and find a reason to stay here! Great layout and great decor with plenty of room to spread out!
We really enjoyed our stay!
Fantastic beautiful ranch with tons of spaces to relax and hang out. We took full advantage of the outdoor dining, grill, pool/HT and outdoor fireplace. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend.
Great for the kids to explore - that's when they were not in the fantastic pool and hot tub. Donkeys and cat were a big hit. Adults enjoyed the peaceful location.
We loved the peacefulness of the property. There was plenty to do and close enough to town for shopping and restaurants.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful place.
This rental is located in an area where it’s so peaceful but yet close to things to do - wineries, breweries, Wimberley etc. beds are super comfortable and communication with the hosts was very responsive in answering our questions! Highly recommend!
The ranch was amazing and fun for all. We definitely enjoyed a great time while we were visiting for a wedding. The owners were very accommodating and very responsive.
