Cabin Design
The cabin features a spacious two-story great room, flooded with natural light from large windows that offer picturesque views of the lake and surrounding woods. The open layout enhances the sense of space and connection with nature. (Loons, hummingbirds, trumpeter swans, woodpeckers, owls...come and see our visitors)

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please make sure that the screen door is retracted before leaving.
Clean the grill if you used it.
Close and lock all windows. Please make sure the top part of the window is pushed all the way up before locking.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
For the health of our septic, please do not flush any feminine products, condoms, or wipes down the toilet. Do not pour bleach or grease into drains.
If your stay includes staying overnight on Tuesday we ask that you have the trash bin at the end of the driveway by 7 am Wednesday. Thank you, kindly!
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Please adhere to this rule as our permit could be revoked.

Scenic cabin that feels like home

Our family of five enjoyed a long weekend away at the Green County Cabin and enjoyed it immensely! The cabin had all we needed and more including phone chargers throughout. We enjoyed the comfortable couches, beds, dock and hours on the paddle boards! We will definitely be back- such a great place to stay!

Another great stay

We returned to Greene Co cabin due to its location. We had a relaxing stay with no need to leave with all the lake activities. Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely return, hopefully for a longer stay. Krista is a great host!

Great cabin, nice dock and beach

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It's a beautiful place. Our boys really enjoyed swimming and playing in the water and we enjoyed sitting out on the dock. The only drawback was the bugs. Thankfully, the end of the dock was a good reprieve.

A little piece of paradise!

We had a wonderful time! The views are amazing, and it is so peaceful and very quiet. The home has everything needed for your stay. The host were extremely helpful from beginning to end! We spent very precious time with our adult children we have not seen for 2 years! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Quiet weekend away

We really enjoyed the cabin. After the kids shock that there was no tv, we got the chance to do puzzles, play board games, read books and spend a lot of time fishing on the dock. The house is very quiet and large enough for everyone to enjoy themselves. It was a little cold the first day we were there but then warmed up and we got to enjoy all the lake toys.

2nd Annual Girl's Weekend

This was our 2nd time for girl's weekend at this cabin and it was just as great as it was last year! All the amenities are fabulous. Great living space and kitchen! The outdoor space is fantastic! Plenty of room on the dock for chairs. We will stay again! Thanks Krista!

Can’t wait to go back!

We rented this cabin for an end of summer getaway and to celebrate my birthday. I can’t imagine a better place to spend this family time! Everything we needed was available, communication was fantastic, the loons were calling and the stars were shining. We spent time playing on the Big Joe, swimming, eating at great places close by in Aitkin, played board games at the gorgeous table and watched the hummingbirds. Very relaxing, I’d highly recommend this beautiful cabin!

Peace on the water

We just returned from five nights at Greene Co Cabin on Elm Island Lake. The setting is secluded with a wonderful beach and the cabin offers all the comforts of home away from home. Check in, check out and communication with the owner was excellent as she was able to answer any questions for us during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped for meal preparations. There are large windows facing the lake with beautiful sunset views and a deck to relax on. The beach is sandy, which is great for swimming, and the use of the canoe and paddle boards made the time in the water especially fun. Fishing off the dock and around the lake was great as we caught (and released) many fish. The trip into Aitkin is about 10 minutes for groceries and town activities. We had a great time at Green Co Cabin and will book again when our travels take us back to the lake country of MN.

Comfortable and quiet

Our family had a great week at Green County Cabin! It was very intentional to have a peaceful setting and to simply enjoy the lake-this place hit the mark perfectly. The multiple sleeping areas allowed all of us to have our own space. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed for home-cooked meals. The dining room table is plenty large to accommodate larger families or simultaneous activities. When cleaned off, we used it for ping pong- it was awesome! The deck overlooking the lake has a large table as well that we used frequently. As for the lake, we didn’t see any boats during the week, and only a couple on Saturday. Very quiet for mid July with ideal weather. Our teens enjoyed the paddle boards and Big Joe. Our son easily caught fish off the dock. The host is very responsive to any questions, but really, we didn’t have very many. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return.

Family Getaway

We were looking for a place to bring our three kids to get away for a family weekend prior to school starting. This was the best choice we could have ever made. The cabin is beautiful and private, however it was close enough for us to find restaurant options and shopping. The lake does not have a lot of use, making it perfect for swimming, fishing, paddle boarding and canoeing. We built fires every night, making it that much more comfortable. We have rented many VRBO properties in the past and have found some owners to be slow with response. I didn't wait longer than a few minutes to get answers to any of my questions. Which really helps when you are trying to navigate a new place with three kids chomping at the bit to do things. The beds are comfortable, lots of kitchen tools for cooking of all meals, along with grilling as an option. It allowed us to cook big breakfasts and solid dinners. This property had everything we were looking for along with responsive owners. Our kids were already planning another trip to go back before we were out of the driveway. It was a perfect way to end the summer. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the people they are traveling with!

Relaxing getaway

WOW! What a fabulous find! This place was super clean, it had everything you would need in the kitchen, it was spacious inside and out! My name is Krista. My husband, Andrew, and I live in St. Paul, MN. We have three kids. Our oldest is married, and they farm an hour north of the Twin Cities. Very exciting! We have a daughter who is in college and our youngest son is just finishing high school.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this cabin just as the pandemic was starting and shortly after I lost both of my parents. The cabin and its beautiful setting was a welcome distraction and a lovely place to heal as our family grieved the loss of my parents and also navigated the challenges the pandemic brought to our kids. We hope that those renting the cabin will also be blessed by this amazing, beautiful, peaceful place!
