Discover tranquillity at our countryside retreat, situated on a serene 5-acre property between Whanganui and Marton—just an easy 18-minute drive to either town. Whether you're exploring the vibrant Whanganui region, visiting nearby towns, or venturing into the area’s beautiful bush walks, our central location makes it all accessible.

This cozy, two-story guesthouse is separate from the main historic homestead, offering privacy and comfort. The upper level combines a snug bedroom and lounge, while the ground floor features a fully equipped modern kitchen, dining area, and bathroom. With double glazing, a heat pump, and a sunlit interior, this space is designed for relaxation. Enjoy breakfast provisions, Wi-Fi, a smart TV with Chromecast, and the option to accommodate up to three guests with a futon bed in the lounge and a porta cot available on request.

Unwind on the elevated, sunny deck with stunning countryside views, rejuvenate in the infrared sauna, or take a peaceful walk through the property’s bushland. Whether you're soaking up the rural surroundings or getting cozy indoors, our retreat has everything you need for a refreshing escape.

Conveniently located just 2 km off State Highway 3 on a quiet, no-exit road, the guesthouse offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. We live in the main homestead and share the property with two friendly small dogs who may greet you upon arrival. Occasionally, you might hear our visiting grandchildren playing nearby—they're as welcoming as we are.

Experience our cozy, hygge-inspired retreat—a haven to recharge, reconnect with nature, and explore the wonders of Whanganui and Rangitikei.
Guest access
Guests have the use of a private apartment inside the barn separate from the main homestead.
Feel free to take a wander down the track to explore the native bush on the property.
Guests also have exclusive use of the infra-red sauna.
Other things to note
The lounge has a futon bed suitable for a child. We also have a portacot, high chair, and toys available on request.

Frances and Gerry were welcoming hosts and what a beautiful spot to share. It was secluded - pure peace and tranquility- with a magical view from the balcony. I loved the night sky view from bed too. The added bonus of the red light therapy sauna was appreciated. A perfect few days of total relaxation - and where I would love to return to at some point.

A room with a view

Wow what an absolute stunning place. We were definitely not expecting this. Out in the country with a view from our upstairs room out over the valley. Private deck area with Kereru in the trees beside us. Frances even left us with feijoas, homemade muesli, yoghurt bread, milk and spreads which was not expected. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise
