Property description equals what we found. The view is gorgeous. We saw the best sunsets over the lake. The house was equipped with whatever you need/want. The beds were extremely comfortable. Overall the house was nice and has been very well loved. There does need to be some updating to bring it back to an excellent rental however a fantastic trip still took place.

This was our 5th trip to Lake Cumberland, and by far the worst house we’ve stayed in. For 2,200 for 3 days, we expected much better.The house was dirty, with dead bugs in the corners, stained couches, and a broken recliner stuck extended. There was also water damage on the basement ceiling and front door.The deck was a major safety concern: broken banisters, soft planks, loose/unattached boards, and a hole in one board that was covered with an outdoor couch. This should absolutely be addressed before renting the property.The advertised “lake access” was also awful. The hike down was poorly maintained, and the rope provided to climb up/down was a metal braided rope instead of a proper thick nylon rope. It felt unsafe and was nothing like we expected.The most ironic part was finding an envelope asking guests to tip the cleaners. After seeing the condition of the house, we couldn’t help but laugh. It looks like the owners need to fire the cleaning crew and find someone else.For what we paid, this property is nowhere near the quality expected. Honestly, it feels like paying premium prices for a 600,000 trailer. Either invest money into the property or take it off the market.I also contacted the host with a question and never received a response. After 5 trips to Lake Cumberland, I can confidently say we will never stay here again or at another property from this host.
