About this property
Peaceful retreat with panoramic hinterland views, 20 mins to Byron beaches
The Sculpture Studio is located on 3 acres of subtropical gardens with panoramic views across to Mt Chincogan.
Explore the gardens and pick organic limes, lemons or herbs and fire up the poolside wood fired bbq (fire pit in Winter) for sunset alfresco dining. Or cool off in the resort style, 14 metre saltwater pool. Warm in Summer and cold bathing in Winter!
With no light pollution or street lights, on a clear night you can gaze up to a sky sprinkled with stars.
The Sculpture Studio is a detached, self-contained house and is about 40 metres away from the main house, where we live. The pool is in front of the main house but when we have guests, we generally don't use it.
We have a half wolfhound who is super friendly. He's out and about during the day and will say hello. If you're not keen on dogs you might prefer staying elsewhere.
Why stay in the hinterland?
•20 minutes away from the pristine beaches and award winning restaurants of Byron Bay
•10 minutes away from Mullumbimby, a sleepy town with a couple of surprises such as a Russian bathhouse (Banya) and a wine bar - Mullum Continental - that's straight out of a Melbourne laneway.
•20 minutes away from Brunswick Heads where you can hire paddle boards or kayaks and explore Simpsons Creek and stop for a bite to eat afterwards at Bruns pub.
•30 minutes away from secret waterfalls, swimming holes and rainforest bathing
Bedroom
• King sized AH Beard bed. We stayed at the 5 star Larwill hotel in Melbourne and loved the beds so much, we bought our own.
• Ceiling fans
• Block out blinds
• Egyptian cotton bed linen
• Bath and beach towels
• Insect screens on all windows
Kitchen
• Two electric plug in hotplates, a microwave and a toaster
• Large fridge
• Nespresso coffee machine
• Basics include breakfast provisions such as weetbix and oats. Olive oil, butter, rice, soy sauce, fish sauce, mayo and dried herbs. We always leave some dried pasta and a jar of pasta sauce in case you turn up late and need to eat.
Fun stuff
• Kayaks
• Beach bats and balls
• Beach brolly and esky
• Books and board games
