"The Mayor's Nest" was designed and built by the Keller family in the early 1980s. Paul Keller eventually retired here and was instrumental in establishing Duck as an official town through the North Carolina legislature, culminating in the incorporation of Duck on May 1, 2002. Paul Keller served as the first Mayor. As the third owners, we are working to update the home but preserve the original intent of "Keller's Beach House": to "delight all generations of congenial vacationers with its sprawling comfort, cheerful decor, relaxed atmosphere and easy access to Poteskeet's uncrowded private beach.” In addition, guests can walk to the town of Duck with its Soundside Boardwalk, many shops and restaurants. Come relax and enjoy The Mayor’s Nest. “You'll want to return again and again!”
