Communication with the local host through the VRBO app was not an option. The property management company wouldn’t allow us to communicate with the local host inside the app. It had to be through communications outside the app to their personal cell phone. The home was not clean. There is a thick layer of dust on all ceiling fans and mantle in the living room. The basement bedroom mattress had a dirty sheet with bodily fluid stains. Additionally, the closet in the basement bedroom had animal fecal matter in it. We have photo evidence of all of the above and can provide upon request.
The host was extremely rude and sent me several inappropriate text messages after not responding through the app. The stay was the worst we have ever experienced. The furniture was dirty and stained, the whole house smelled very heavily of propane, and the hot tub was not in working condition and was dirty (this was a trip for my daughter and the hot tub was the whole reason for booking this property). We feel we wasted our time and money and will never return to this property.

The whole stay from the moment we checked in was awful. I’ll start off by saying I don’t ever leave bad reviews, not even when they are deserved. Any time I’ve had a problem with a Vrbo or simply just a question I’ve always been helped quickly and efficiently. This time, I was left with no answers the whole time and no responses from the host. First, I was never even sent check in instructions and had to call over and over to get them. Then, a strange man just showed up to the door at 7:00 pm saying he was there to work on the hot tub. My sister and I were here alone at the time with our young kids. We were given no notice from Vrbo or the host that he would be here or that the hot tub wasn’t even working. He was here from 7-11 pm. After he left we did what he said to get the hot to warm up in hopes it would be hot the following day. Well—the hot tub STILL wasn’t working. It took me calling Vrbo support several times, talking to several people and them contacting the host for him to finally come and fix it. By then it was already the second night of our stay and we still hadn’t been able to use it. I was willing to let that go—but the host continued to be rude and blame me saying I didn’t know how to work the hot tub. The cabinets and floors are dirty. The ice machine doesn’t work, he refused to let me use the washer and dryer even tho the listing states laundry as an amenity. Save your money and book else where. Not worth the hassle.
We arrived at this property to find the basement had been flooded. The carpet was still wet and the house smelled moldy. After contacting the owner they did not offer to try to do anything after sending them pics of the floors. We did not stay and found another rental. Now the owner is refusing to give a full refund. The listing agent, Evolve, has also been no help and they are only offering a refund of less than my initial deposit. Highly recommend any other property in this area.
When I got to the place it wasn’t very clean there were dead flies and wasps in the living room area. The refrigerator was very much not clean at all I had 7 guest and only was allowed half the house which was not specified! When we went to go get into the hot tub there was a dead baby bird on the steps. Then when we woke up on your second day there somehow something got ahold of a goose and killed it like literally Murdered it and when I contacted the owner he didn’t try to get it removed or anything left it there all day and stopped replying to my texts ! It was advertised 3 sleeping areas and a laundry room I only had access to 2 of the sleeping rooms which had a queen size bed in each so we had to sleep 7 people on two beds! When I asked about the other rooms I was simply told I don’t have access to them and when I questioned more I got ignored . I contacted support provided proof and still no one will fix the problem offer a solution partial refund maybe a free night NOTHING! Also my son left a piece of his gaming equipment at property we asked could we go back to get it (it was literally 6 mins after check out time ) and I was told no don’t go back he would find it and get ahold of me . It’s now the end of the day and no reply’s no call backs again nothing! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The house has so much potential. Things were generally what were advertised. However, there had been some obvious moisture or water issue in the downstairs bedroom. It had an industrial size heppa filter going strong with the door closed. The whole house smelled moldy/mildewy. The hot tub had obviously not been consistently maintained. The water was cold and not circulating. There was dirt at the bottom the of the seats, a ring of film around the water line, and the water was cloudy and smelled a bit sour. Found a half used bag of pool shock beside the tub. Looked like a quick attempt at a last minute “cleaning” before we arrived. We stayed without complaint as we really just wanted place to sleep and hang out on the back porch. No soap for the dishwasher or dishes was left and no wash clothes or paper towels. I would personally never have rented a house/hottub to anyone in such conditions much less charge full price. The owner or caretaker was leaving as we were arriving so they were obviously aware of the conditions. We were there to celebrate our engagement so honestly didn’t want to waste time complaining. Be very aware about this place.
