Unwind on the floating hammock net, cozy up by the double-sided indoor/outdoor fireplace, and dive into lake life from your private dock—perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddleboarding.

Wake up to golden sunrises through the forest canopy. Fall asleep to the gentle lapping of waves. It’s just you, the water, and the wilderness.

The Space

One of the few cottages grandfathered right on the lake’s edge, this cozy gem blends craftsmanship with nature. It features:

A newly renovated, beautifully styled interior

Two connected bunkie rooms plus a hidden A-frame loft (ladder access)

A spacious dock and new waterfront deck

Panoramic lake views and total seclusion

Note: The cottage is intentionally compact and best suited for families or small groups of nature lovers. There’s one bathroom and an 8-person max, which may be tight for 8 adults.

We had a lovely stay at The Water Edge. The owner is incredibly kind and responsive, and the property itself is absolutely gorgeous — cozy, clean, and set in a beautiful location that really lives up to the name.One important thing to note for anyone visiting in the winter: the road leading into the cottage is not ploughed. Between our three vehicles, we got stuck four separate times, and I had to call CAA twice to get us out. It was a stressful experience that definitely impacted our trip.I would strongly recommend having an all-wheel-drive vehicle during winter conditions. This wasn’t mentioned on the website, and it would be very helpful for future guests to know ahead of time so they can plan accordingly.Overall, a beautiful place with a wonderful owner — just be prepared if you’re visiting in the winter.

I also want to sincerely thank you for highlighting the importance of AWD/4WD for winter stays. While we do our best to monitor local conditions, nature can be unpredictable, and your feedback helps us emphasize to future guests that winter tires and all-wheel drive are highly recommended for this rural terrain. I am, however, a little surprised by the 2-star rating given your positive experience with the home itself and our efforts to support you during those stressful moments. As the weather is unfortunately the one thing outside of a host's control, we feel the rating may not fully reflect the quality of the stay and the 'lovely' experience you described. We would love to welcome you back during the warmer months—or with an AWD vehicle next winter—so you can enjoy the Water Edge experience to the fullest without the stress!
