About this property
Kereru Hill by Stay Waiheke
Summary:
A sunny, sea-view bach an easy walk from Palm Beach, set up for relaxed family holidays and simple island living. Kereru Hill is bright, practical, and easy, with an open deck overlooking the valley and plenty of room for groups to unwind after beach days.
The Space:
The bach is light, open, and casual, the kind of place where the doors stay open to the deck and the day moves between inside and out. The kitchen, dining, and lounge share one easy space that leads straight onto the wide, sun-soaked deck with views across the hillside and out to the water.
The kitchen is set up for simple holiday meals with a granite bench, cappuccino machine, milkshake maker, toasted-sandwich press, and all the basics. The lounge keeps downtime practical with a Smart TV, internet, Freeview, Topbox, and Chromecast.
The layout works well for families and small groups.
• Two queen bedrooms
• A third bedroom with three single beds (ideal for kids or friends)
• A fold-out sofa in the lounge, available on request for one additional guest
The deck becomes the core of the stay, morning sun across the valley, tui in the surrounding trees, and plenty of space to sit outside between beach trips. Inside, there’s room for everyone to spread out without the house ever feeling fussy.

The Neighborhood:
Palm Beach is an easy walk from the bach, a calm swimming spot with soft sand and a playground right next to the water. For coffee or a relaxed breakfast, Arcadia is close by with a sunny deck and consistently good coffee, while the Palm Beach Store offers quick takeaway coffees and light bites across from the beach.
For lunch, Batch Winery is a popular daytime stop with panoramic views and relaxed shared plates, ideal for slow afternoons in the sun. Casita Miro is another favourite nearby, known for its Mediterranean shared plates, olive trees, and colourful courtyard atmosphere.
Dinner options are close and varied. Three Seven Two on Onetangi Beach serves seasonal New Zealand dishes in a stylish but relaxed beachfront setting, especially good at sunset. Ki Māha, also on Onetangi, offers a more refined take on modern New Zealand dining, set right on the water for a memorable evening with locally inspired dishes.
If you’re planning a vineyard visit, Mudbrick is one of the island’s signature spots, offering coastal views, refined bistro dining, and a classic Waiheke atmosphere. Cable Bay Vineyards is equally popular, combining ocean views with Mediterranean-influenced menus in a modern setting. And just up the road, The Heke brings together a lively grill, brewery, and open outdoor spaces, a reliable choice for casual meals and crafted drinks.
Getting Around:
The Palm Beach bus stop is a short walk from the house and links directly to Oneroa Village, the Matiatia ferry terminal, Onetangi Beach, and all major wineries (buses stop outside most of them).
Guests can also use local taxis, private drivers, or hire cars, scooters, and e-bikes from Oneroa. Parking at the property is straightforward, and most of the island, from the ferry to the beaches and vineyards is within a ten-minute drive.
Other Things to Note:
Minimum stay requirements: seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights on holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
Fold-out sofa in the lounge is available on request for one additional guest.
The property uses rainwater tanks, so water conservation is important during your stay (standard on Waiheke).
Interaction with Guests:
The Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with an after-hours number for urgent issues. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 111 immediately. Once checked in, the bach is private and set up for an easy, independent stay.
