About this property
Steenburg Shores & S'mores
Steenburg Shores & S'mores is a hidden gem tucked just off Highway 62 between Madoc and Bancroft, nestled on the serene south shore of Steenburg Lake. Facing northwest, this charming cottage treats guests to glowing morning skies and golden sunsets sparkling over the calm water. Whether you’re looking for a cozy retreat or an outdoor adventure, this property offers a blend of classic cottage charm and thoughtful amenities.
As you pull into the long driveway, you’ll pass a newly built garage and arrive at a spacious semi-wraparound deck with two distinct seating areas—ideal for morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine at sunset. Step inside and you’ll find a compact but well-equipped kitchen complete with a dishwasher, air fryer, and all the essentials you need for your stay. The nearby dining area seats four, with additional cozy seating around a custom cribbage coffee table for relaxed, lakeside meals and game nights.
The cottage features three comfortable bedrooms—two doubles and the primary with a queen bed—along with a modern, newly renovated four-piece bathroom. Just steps from the main cottage, the detached bunky offers extra privacy and sleeps two more guests in a queen bed, making it a great option for grandparents, teens, or another couple.
Outdoors is where this property really shines. A screened gazebo on the deck allows you to enjoy the fresh air without the bugs, and just beyond, you’ll find a large fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs for roasting marshmallows and late-night stargazing. A small sandy beach with a gentle entry into the lake makes it ideal for kids and pets, while two large docks provide space to relax by the water or launch kayaks and paddleboards. A jet ski ramp is also available for guest use. Please note: if the property owner’s pontoon boat is docked, it is not included in the rental due to insurance restrictions.
Between the cottage and the bunky, a second dining area near the BBQ and Blackstone griddle creates the perfect hub for summer meals. And with future plans for an outdoor bar area in 2026, there’s always something new to look forward to at Steenburg Shores & S'mores. Whether you're here to disconnect and relax or fill your days with swimming, boating, and campfire stories, this cottage is ready to host your next unforgettable escape.
