I’ll start by saying the home itself is immaculate. It’s clear a great deal of time and care went into refurbishing every space. Top to bottom, this vacation home was a fantastic value given the amenities and proximity to Killington. There were many thoughtful details: a fully stocked kitchen, complimentary coffee each morning, plenty of wall outlets and dimmable lighting, and a great hot tub. We also appreciated the secluded location away from the busyness of town. That said, I want to be very clear that unless you have a true 4WD or AWD vehicle, staying here in the height of winter carries risk. The listing does mention this, but it was buried in the fine print and I missed it (that’s on me). We assumed our front-wheel-drive Honda Pilot would be sufficient. After an eight-hour drive, we arrived on Christmas Eve to a very steep driveway covered in snow and ice. Despite multiple attempts, we couldn’t make it up and even got stuck in a snowbank, which made for a stressful arrival.Conditions improved several days later once the driveway was salted, but it remained challenging in winter conditions. We were also disappointed that the propane fireplace stopped working the evening we arrived and remained unusable for the rest of the trip. With the right vehicle (or in other seasons), this is a beautiful, well-appointed home in a great location. I’ll also note that our contacts for the property were responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with — even over Christmas. Thanks!
