The "outside room" invites you to relax under the twin maple trees and enjoy the hot tub, rocking chairs and porch swing in the trees, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. This property is a duplex, completely private with the 2 bedrooms and full bath located on the second floor, providing more privacy away from the main living space. The outside room with hot tub is completely enclosed with a privacy fence and is totally private and exclusive to this side of the duplex. There are no shared spaces except the parking. Just 11 minutes to nearest winery and only 20 minutes to Cedar Lake, 20 minutes to Cache River, 20 minutes to Giant City State Park and close to many wineries, this cozy home is the perfect retreat to come back to after a day of exploring the beautiful Shawnee Hills.

Great getaway spot!

The house was lovely and very clean! The outdoor patio/space was perfect for spending time outside. There was great communication with the owner. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful weekend in Anna

We had a lovely time, close to wineries, cute towns, hiking etc. The hot tub and pool table made this a wonderful place to “stay in” with our little one. We were able to enjoy starview, then come back for a super relaxing stay. There’s a Kroger/walmart just a few minutes down the road, among other things, super convenient if yoy forgot anything! Had a lovely time, and found the place to be very welcoming!

Delightful and hospitable home!

We loved our stay here! Myself and a few friends came to hike in this beautiful area of Illinois. This VRBO is as lovely as it appears in the photos and description! Kathy is a delightful lady who was very helpful to us, and the home is set up with everything you’ll need, and with such intentional and thoughtful hospitality. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, playing games, and eating delicious food prepared in the spacious kitchen. We ask agreed we would definitely recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing space!

Wonderful Spot!

Twin Maples was the perfect getaway for our family. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. Our family enjoyed the pool table and lovely patio. Our hosts were very responsive and we enjoyed our stay!

Charming!!

Absolutely loved this place. It is just as described. We were close to hiking and wineries and really enjoyed evenings cooking and relaxing at the cottage. Communication was great and very easy to access. Hope to be back some day!

A beautiful, relaxing stay

To begin, the property host is very communicative and responded quickly to all messages. The home is beautiful and very relaxing. My wife and I really enjoyed relaxing in the private back patio on the tree swing! Each evening and morning we relaxed and unwound after a day of wine trailing and adventuring for hours. I highly recommend this host, property and location!

Great birthday weekend

Beautiful property with a lovely patio and hot tub. Kathy provided everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Loved having everything so close. Highly recommend Iron Whisk in Cobden for Dutch babies. Dinner Bell Too is good for breakfast or down home family style lunch, right down the street.

Beautiful property

Our stay at Kathy’s house was great. There was a storm a couple days before we got there that meant we couldn’t use the hot tub but Kathy gave us a partial refund. She was a great communicator throughout our whole stay. She left a bunch of helpful notes around the house and a binder that explained how everything around the house worked. The only downside to our stay was the fact that it’s a duplex and we could hear the people on the other side stomping around. But the beds were super comfortable and the shower water pressure were awesome. We’d definitely come back.

Nice clean place

The property is very well-maintained and a lot of thought went into the renovations nice details, that being said,a few upgrades would make the property better. one being handicap toilets, and the use of 2ply toilet paper instead of one ply. In addition, better privacy for the hot tub area. If stairs are an issue this property has plenty.

Lovely cottage!

This was one of my favorite rentals through VRBO. Everything was spotless, the house was so cozy and quaint but still spacious, and they provide everything you might need. There was a slight hiccup with the wifi, and they responded and resolved it super fast! I would love to stay here again and do the wine trail!

Excellent location, need some repairs

The location is excellent. Right in the middle of several things that make a trip easier. The property though does need some repairs. Back sliding door doesn't lock. Front window was cracked. Doors that didn't close well. What looks like mold on the ceiling of the upstairs bathroom. Dishes that were dusty with disuse. Nothing major, but a lot of little things that just add up. All that said, a bit of work on the property would probably bring it up to five stars in short order.

Perfect place to stay on our mini getaway

My husband and I traveled from the St. Louis area for a little weekend getaway. We knew we wanted to enjoy some wineries and go on some hikes. This place was a perfect location, perfect size, very clean, and had great accommodations. Due to the location, we were able to accomplish going to all of the wineries and hiking spots we wanted to without feeling rushed. Then while at the house, the owner has truly thought of everything! We had the option of sitting back and relaxing in the hot tub or having fun playing all the games made available to us. We will be back in the future and we are already recommending this place to others.

Great Place

Twin Maples was easy to find and clean. Centrally located and quick access to just about anything. Listing as described. The house was rather warm when we first got there due to unpredictable weather. We messaged Kathy and she was there quickly to address the issue. Very receptive host. We would definitely stay again.
