Red Bird Retreat is a beautiful new luxury home in The Lodges at Eagles Nest with three (3) bedrooms, a small anteroom/4th bedroom, and 3.5 bathrooms, on a large, quiet wooded property inside the gated luxury Eagles Nest community, with guest access to a plethora of amenities and within walking distance to the pickleball courts!! Red Bird Retreat is just outside Banner Elk, beside Beech Mountain, convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Valle Crucis, and Watauga Lake. Both Elk River and the Watauga River are also nearby.

The Lodges at Eagles Nest offers premier community amenities and nature-based activities appealing to all ages and interests. The rental rate includes an amenity fee that grants access to all guest-available amenities. Amenities and guest availability are subject to change. Eagles Nest Newest Addition: Epic Chophouse! - As a renter in the community, you will have access to this great venue. When at the restaurant, mention you are a renter in Eagles Nest for admittance. Please note, that Owners of the Eagles Nest Community will have priority seating at this restaurant so please be aware of this ahead of your arrival to the venue.

The house is a large 3BR/3.5BA mountain home with a hot tub, a huge covered rear porch with a stainless gas grill, and an outdoor living and dining area tucked away on a mostly-level landscaped lot with a huge fire pit surrounded by mature hardwood trees.

The main level has wide plank wood floors and tall vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, exuding mountain luxury. The kitchen features Quartz counters, brushed nickel appliances, a gas cooktop, and ample custom cabinetry. The center island offers three (3) barstool seats for extra dining and casual gathering. The adjacent dining table seats eight (8) more accommodating eleven (11) guests. The great room features soaring vaulted ceilings, a stone gas log fireplace, comfortable suede and leather furniture, and an HD Smart TV. A laundry room with a washer and dryer and a half bath/powder room are on the main level. A wall of sliding glass doors offers access to the deck. From the dining area and the master suite, glass doors lead out to the rear covered porch, which offers a stainless gas grill, outdoor dining for six, and comfy cushioned outdoor seating, all under tongue-and-groove ceilings with big skylights.

The generous master suite on the main level has a king bed, an HD Smart TV, and a comfortable suede chair. The master bathroom has a double Quartz vanity and a frameless glass shower with a river rock floor. Walk out to the side patio to enjoy the hot tub.

Upstairs, the king suite has vaulted ceilings, an HD Smart TV, and a private ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a quartz vanity and a nice shower with a frameless glass door and a river rock floor. The second upper suite features vaulted ceilings, a queen bed, an HD Smart TV, and a full ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a combination tub and shower. There is also a cozy anteroom with two twin beds and a fun media area with an HD Smart TV, an Xbox One, a Multicade arcade game, and bean bag loungers. This house also has an EV charger,

All of the Eagles Nest amenities are minutes away from the house, inside the secure gates of The Lodges at Eagles Nest. You are less than fifteen (15) minutes to downtown Banner Elk and the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort! Grandfather Mountain is less than fifteen (15) miles away. Boone is less than twenty (20) miles, and Blowing Rock is less than twenty-five (25) miles.

Accommodating up to eight (8) guests comfortably, this house is ideal for the discerning family to enjoy a mountain escape. And with the Eagles Nest amenities, you rarely need to leave the gates to find plenty of fun and exciting things to do!

Mountain Escape

Red Bird Retreat is a lovely property! The home is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities of home. I recommend driving there in the daylight if you haven’t been to Eagle’s Nest before.

Amazing mountain home!

This is a beautiful home surrounded by nature in an amazing mountain community. The house was luxurious and well stocked. There’s walking trails and parks in the community and tons to to nearby. Grandfather mountain is 40 minutes away and skiing is 20-30 minutes at Beech Mountain or Sugar Mountain.

Wonderfully relaxing cabin!

This is a fabulous place to get away! There were 6 adults, an 8 year old, 6 year old and 5 month infant. The house was very accommodating and has a well-stocked kitchen. The hot tub was an added feature as well as the fire pit and tree swing! Very cozy cabin and it didn’t even matter to us that we only got a dusting of snow. Plenty of other things to do. And also, beds are very comfy! Definitely enjoyed our stay!

The house was exceptional. It was beautiful and clean and had a great assortment of games for family fun. There was a fire pit and hot tub which we didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy while there but would definitely want to take advantage of if we had more time. The driveway was great with plenty of parking for all our vehicles. We even had one person with an electric car, so the charger worked out well for her. The road getting to the house was winding but well maintained. A warning to other guests, do not trust Google Maps to get to or from Beech Mountain. Always route to the main entrance at the Lodges at Eagles Nest to go anywhere as some roads suggested by Google Maps are only meant for ATVs and others are gravel roads. If you always route to the main entrance first, you will be fine and have well maintained roads. Also, bring your own wash clothes as there were none supplied, just one towel per person for the entire stay. Other than that one minor inconvenience, the stay was absolutely perfect and I would recommend highly to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Beautiful Home

Home was clean and spacious. Not a very good selection of cable channels but tvs did have other options. No laundry detergent or dish soap to hand wash dishes. No hairdryers. Overall it was a great fit for attending a wedding weekend. Just needed a few items to assist guests in keeping the house clean on a daily basis.

Beautiful mountain home

Beautiful home on a lovely wooded lot. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. We arrived after a very big snow and the roads within the community were cleared as well as the driveway. The views looking out the back of the house we’re amazing. We were able to get to Beech Mountain and Hawks Nest Tubing for several fun excursions. Highly recommend this home for a fun winter escape!

Red Bird Retreat

We loved our stay at the Red Bird Retreat. The neighborhood was beautiful and the home was settled on a great lot. Once you enter the neighborhood it takes about 15 minutes to get to the house and is about 30 minutes from beech mountain ski resort. Four wheel drive necessary for winter conditions.

Great cabin. Beautiful, modern cabin high in the mountains. Road up to the top is daunting, but there was no snow and unusually warm for late November.

Excellent stay

We just loved the house. The owners thought of everything and did not cut corners! Very comfortable and homey, but luxurious at the same time. House was clean, but we had to unload the dishwasher upon check-in, and only 1 garbage bag for a group of 5 and a 3 night stay. Very limited and generic supplies from the rental agency. Even with that, we had a great stay. We just were not expecting to pick up those things for a 3 night stay.

On top of the world

This is a high end, private property at Eagles Nest. It has everything you could need and outdoor relaxation spots you won’t want to leave. Eagles nest itself offers beautiful surroundings and incredible views. Banner Elk has food options that are surprisingly excellent. Please note that the property is 4 miles from the entrance and first time up should be done in daylight. Definitely will be back to enjoy again!

The property is very nice and exactly as shown. A very long drive to or from the main gate. Thought we would have Mountain View… instead only see the backyard. Nonetheless very nice !

Wonderful Vacation

We had a great time at Red Bird Retreat and we were lucky enough to get plenty of snow. Only recommendations we would make is to have a drop zone of some sort at the front door for jackets, etc... We only had four people and I can't imagine how it would have been with eight people trying to hang coats, mittens, etc... Also the hot tub was fun but having a covered breezeway to get to it would have been nice so we didn't have to walk through snow or ice to get to it. Overall we would definitely recommend this property and will hopefully be back next year.

5++ star stay in a beautiful cabin in Eagles Nest!!!

If you're looking for a nice relaxing getaway with tons to do- look no further. This cabin was amazing. It had all the amenities! An amazing back porch with a grill and lots of seating to entertain the adults. The hot tub, hidden game room upstairs, board games and lots of spacious rooms with designer bedding made us not want to leave. Did I mention the beds were so comfortable? Every bedroom had a big tv and a beautiful bathroom. From the master bedroom you can walk out to the back porch and enjoy the beautiful skies while rocking away in a really comfortable rocking chair. Not to mention everything was extremely clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils and supplies - it had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. Top notch appliances made me want to cook!! The location was excellent and quiet. The fireplace was super cozy !! With lots of throws for everyone to wrap theirselves up in. :) The owners have thought of so many little things that make it like home. This cabin was even better than described. The house itself is surrounded by amazing wildlife. Beech mountain is filled with tons of activities and restaurants and the community was very respectful about wearing masks and social distancing. Overall fantastic home, with great amenities in the Eagles Nest community and a beautiful location. You can rent an ATV, enjoy a game of putt putt, practice your archery skills, go climbing, or just enjoy the beautiful mountain views at the Great Camp all within minutes in the mountains. Hosts did a fantastic job with communication. We could not have been happier. Thank you!

Perfect Winter Weekend Getaway

What a treat it was to enjoy a holiday weekend at Red Bird Retreat! Everything was perfectly presented and the amenities allowed for 3 couples to have plenty of room to spread out! We had 3 days of constant snow and the roads were continuously plowed which made the option to come and go very easy, however we found that everything we needed was at Red Bird Retreat. We can't wait for our next visit!

Cozy Mountain retreat

The property was exactly as described on line and perfect for our winter weekend retreat. Our family enjoyed sledding on the resort property near the cabin and skiing at nearby Beech mountain. We all made it up safely to the cabin despite the winter weather. We all had 4 wheel drive vehicles, and the property management company made the weather conditions and 4 wheel drive requirements very clear. The staff at the front gate were also very helpful and friendly. The kitchen was very well equipped which was great as our family loves to cook.

One thing I forgot to mention in my review- the only issue we had was with the internet. It worked fine in the main rooms of the house and on the back deck. But it didn't reach to the bedrooms. The upstairs king room was spotty, the others got no signal. So we couldn't use the smart tv's in those rooms, and my daughter was unable to do her schoolwork in her room. If connectivity could be improved, this would be a perfect house!

Fun, relaxing trip to Eagle's Nest

We absolutely loved Red Bird Retreat! This home was tucked into the woods and it was so private and magical. We loved the yard, especially the hammock and swing! The house was very nice- kitchen was well stocked and all of the furniture was very comfortable. There was no shortage of cozy blankets around the house. Our favorite spot was the back deck- loved that it was covered and had very comfortable furniture, it was so peaceful to sit out there and enjoy our surroundings! We always enjoy time spent at Eagle's Nest- this time we hiked down to the picnic spot and swimming hole, which was great. We also took some wine and snacks up to North Pavilion and built a fire, and of course spent plenty of time at Great Camp. We had so much fun we had to add on an extra night! Carolina Cabin Rentals was great and very easy to work with, and we highly recommend Red Bird Retreat. We will be back!

Red Bird Retreat

Red Bird Retreat is even better than the photos! Quiet, serene setting in a beautiful home that has comfortable beds and bedding and so much more. The house is new so appliances are a big upgrade to what is normally found in rental homes. The kitchen is well stocked with nice dishes, silverware, cooking utensils and even Tervis tumblers! The outdoor deck is large and a perfect setting for hanging out, eating on the spacious dining table, playing games and viewing wildlife. We had a black bear to visit several times during our stay as well as deer, chipmunks, birds and butterflies. The neighborhood has lots to offer. Be sure to take in a sunset from the amphitheater. Of course, the weather at this altitude is incredible.

5 Stars, wish they would let me rate even higher!

We absolutely loved our stay at your beautiful home Red Bird Retreat. It is a long 8 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio to get there but we will be back! All the recent landscaping is very well done and gave me some ideas for our own home. We almost lost our cabin in the Smoky Mountains a few years back during the wildfires. I can appreciate all the efforts to clear cut the land around your mountain home to keep it safe. It rained a lot while we were there and the stream was really babbling. A wonderful sound to sleep to. Thank you for allowing pets in your beautiful new home, out Golden Retriever spent hours sleeping in the sun on the back porch.

Wonderful Mountain Retreat
