This unit is a “standard” unit at Mana Kai, which means it hasn’t been renovated. Everything in the unit is functional, and the appliances are newer. It is just tired now and shows some wear and tear in most areas, which is the only thing keeping it from a full rating. We were welcomed with a tropical arrangement, which was very nice. The closet is well stocked with beach needs- chairs, boards, coolers etc.Basic needs such as paper goods towels etc are fine for at least a weeks stay. Coffee machine takes both ground and pods. The lanai is very nice and has great view. The bed is a king and is very comfortable; the pillows are meh.This is a very well run property, the grounds and building are well kept. There was some construction going on on the roof and the restaurant, which was closed. While busyness starts early here, around 7am, due to the beach rental store and public access to the beach right next to the property, it does quiet down at night by sunset. Beach access is very easy, and it is of course busier nearer to the property than if you walk down further. The location is nice, as it is south of the busy part of kihei and pretty close to Wailea.We would stay here again but probably seek out a renovated unit, which are more expensive.

This condo was just what we needed for our first visit time in Maui. The beach front view was amazing especially the fact that you can walk down to the beach and watch the sunset every evening. I would definitely be back very soon.

Great location, quieter than some parts of the Island.
We had the opportunity to see an updated unit and that made this one look tired.
Kitchen is marginally stocked.
The balcony is lovely. Outdoor space, reef, beach fabulous.

We love the Mana Kai in Maui! It truly is the best property in Kihei! Being right on the beach is amazing! While the unit had everything we needed and was great to have boogie boards and beach stuff. It could use a bit of an upgrade with furniture and fixtures etc. However we stayed outside the majority of the time.

We love Mana Kai. However, this is one of the oldest units we have stayed in at this complex. The dishwasher and fan above the stove both needed replaced. The dishwasher was being replaced the day we left but should have been done before we arrived. The manager did back to us quickly. With a few updates the unit could be great.

This is a beautiful property. We have stayed there on several occasions but always through the hotel and not Vrbo. We booked with Vrbo this time as it was sort of a last minute decision as we were attending a wedding in Kihei. This particular unit did not have an air conditioner which we were not made aware of but we managed. The unit was clean and comfortable. Cooking utensils need to be updated as there was only two small fry pans and no vegetable steamer. Furniture could use a refresh and the bed squeaked.
Easy check In process. Condo great location. Condo was a bit tired, could use some updating.

We have stayed at the Mana Kai before and love this location. The unit we rented had/has a number of issues. Some are design issues and others are due to poor maintenance. Immediately, the bathroom had no hot water at the sink. I checked the cutoff valves under sink and saw the hot was turned off. After turning it on we had hot water, but soon we saw leakage. The management company was quick to respond with a plumber. He had to replace the whole facet assembly, but of course had to drive to Kahului to get it. All in all about 5 hours on a Sunday. The unit is generally in need of updating. It looks like someone ran out of paint while painting bathroom. Much of the workmanship throughout the unit looked very amateurish. Some of the kitchen drawers could only be partially opened because they hit the oven. Because the drawers were useless, the eating utensils were in a really strange place. We were in 311A but could not shower, as there is no lever to switch faucet in tube from bath to shower,even though there is a shower head. So we had to use the shower in the B portion of condo. The bed was acceptable but there were real issues. The fitted sheets and mattress pads would come out of corners and we’d find ourselves tangled and sleeping partially directly on mattress. The other furniture was comfortable and served it’s purpose. I would highly recommend the Mana Kai, but I could not recommend this unit. NOT worth the price.

Great location but...
You can't beat the condo location at the Mana Kai. This condo was really "tired" though. The appliances (fridge/dishwasher) are super old and rusted. The bed linens and floor felt really dirty. The couch/pull out bed was so dirty/uncomfortable my so slept on the lanai in a lawn chair during our whole stay. The cabinets were close to broken but the oven worked fine. The unit would be much better with an AC unit or at least some fans. There was one over the bed but it barely worked. All in all the best part of this condo was the lanai and view. Nice to be close to Zachs General Store and 5 Palms. Like I said- GREAT lanai and view and right on one of the best beaches on Maui. Thanks!
